I was 39 when i saw Titanic in 1997. I saw it 3 times in the cinema and i was gushing over Leonardo and Kate like a 16 year old. My favourite part of the movie was Leo and Kate dancing to the fantastic Irish number in 3rd class, Leo and Kate standing together on the bow of the ship having their first kiss. Kate Winslet wore such beautiful costumes and she looked lovely in them. A skinny actress would not have looked that good. Leo's suspenders were nice and suited his youthful figure so well.

Their work and chemistry on that film is amazing, so much so that people are still thinking that they should be together. I believe Jack and Rose are one of the iconic couples in movie history, of course only time will cement that position.

I kind of feel privileged to have been old enough to have experienced the original Titanic phenomenon. If one wasn't around back then, one can't really truly grasp what that movie was and what it became to so many people. Wow, this is weird to be talking about a movie this way, like it was a life event. Weird and a little lame, but even more so - amazing!
It was truly amazing. (I'm 35, so I was there :D ). Especially because most people didn't expect it. Nowdays you don't have these types of phenomenons, cause everything is already predicted. Like Star Wars or a Marvel movie. But Titanic was really something else. Half of '98 was all about it. The movie, the song, the Oscars, movie releases delayed because the whole world wanted to see Titanic, again and again. It was the biggest cultural phenomenon I've ever witnessed.

I was 12 and I saw it five times just in theaters. I went on April 14 just for the anniversary.
I feel you. I was 11 in '99 and in 5th grade. I had my first crush the previous year but I couldn't have a bf cz I was in primary. I thought it was not acceptable and that only older girls have boyfriends but I remember wishing for a relationship just because of how I saw Jack love Rose and vice versa. There were school bags with them and TITANIC written and it hurt me so bad knowing I could only dream of owning 1 cz my parents couldn't afford it. Best movie still. Remains one of my all time favourites.
Just came home from seeing ‘titanic’ again in its limited theater release. Man, I forgot what an epic that film is on the big screen. That really is the way it should be seen. We see it on tv all the time, but only big screen does it true justice.

She's so lovely still, I was 16 when I watched the movie and still remember the movie and fascination I had with Hollywood after Titanic.
It's incredible how much I love this movie, even after having watched it more than literally 100 times by now. Unfortunately I never got to watch it at the cinema, but the first time I watched I was around 9 or 10, so around 2000. I was having a 2 day sleepover with a couple of friends and she had rented Titanic. I loved the movie from the very first minutes and bawled my eyes out. I remember I couldn't stop watching it, had already watched about 15 times and couldn't get tired of it. I called several stores to see if they had the VHS for sale and couldn't find it, so I begged my mother to buy from our local video store (she knew the owner) and after a few days of grovelling and nagging she agreed and I watched it God knows how many times. Some months later, afraid of watching so much to the point of getting tired of the movie, I made a promise to myself I'd only watch it once a year, and I've been doing it so for 17 years now. It's amazing how much this movie still gets me every single time. Leo steals my heart and their love story is one of the best fiction has ever created. (And I secretly hope someday Leo and Kate get married, but that's just wishful thinking...)

@@ScottGoldbergMusic omg yes! Haha, I had forgotten about this comment. Finally had the chance to watch it in the cinema this February! It was absolutely fantastic! I actually watched it 3 times lol. The first time there was a group sat behind me that wouldn't stop talking every two minutes during the whole 3+ hours of the movie, so when I bought a ticket to watch it again the next day (and that was a perfect movie session 💕) and since it was going to stay in cinemas for another week, I bought it a third for the very last movie session the cinema was going to show. And what I said in my comment 4 years ago hasn't changed, the movie still makes me cry every single time I watch it. A thousand kudos to James Cameron, Leo, Kate and the entire cast and crew 💕
