  • This isn't a piece as such, but I'm going to try and keep a record of my practice sessions so that I can see what works and what doesn't. I'm currently limiting my actual playing to very short bursts, often once a day.
One thing I need to focus on is creating a decent percussion template for the Deluge and learn how to layer beats better. Sequencing beats is something that I haven't really done since I was at school using the Roland drum machines of the day, and that was 38 years ago.
I did remember that I recently purchased the bass pedal keyboard and started using it in tonight's impro dive. I need to program my muscle memory to remember where all the notes are, but I don't think it'll take too long. The keyboard is great for suddenly taking over empty spaces, and giving a blank canvas for the cello to masterbate over. I think it was a good purchase.
I'm also having to create a custom pedalboard to fit around the bass keyboard. I've purchased the brains from China to do this, but I need quite a few pedals, which I've added to my Amazon wishlist - www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/.... There's no obligation of course, and they are items that I will eventually purchase as soon as I have the funds to do it.
I also switched off more of the Linnstrument's autotune features, so if my playing sounds out of tune, it's because I need to tune my fingers better. I am getting a great feel for the cello now. Once I map the extra features to foot pedals, there should be a new level of expressiveness that will explode out....
Sorry for the darkness. CFS relapses make it hard to tolerate light.
Anyway, behold, a snippet of tonight's practice (professionally faded out before everything went horribly wrong)
