    So incredibly clear, thank you! I’ve really been struggling with this - in fact gave up, because each time there were holes. But now after watching this, I feel like I can do it. 🤞

    Than you so much! I needed to make half an oval and straight ch1 turn on the other for a funky pattern on a dress, you've been so helpful! :)

    Finally!! Been finding a tutorial on this. I really got confused with the shape that I wanted but then I realized it was actually oval!! Omg thank you so much for this! Been wanting to make a flat bee for my crochet mirror holder.

    Thanks for this! Your demonstration is very clear and easy to follow. I had a difficult time trying to make an oval for my sprout hair clip project until this video 💗

    Thabk you very much for this! I just recently happened upon a pattern where these ovals are used but I've never worked with ovals before so I was very confused. Thanks for your help, it cleared things up!

    Thank you! This was super easy to follow. But, how do I end the oval? Where does the slip-stitch go?

    When say for round 3, 1 sc,1 inc is that just for the end of the oval?

    I've been doing amigurumi for a while, however I've only recently been making amigurumi with ovals and I just can't seem to get them down like the others. I get the basic jist and this video has been super helpful, BUT I keep having a huge hole when I get back to the starting stitch and I have no idea how to avoid it. Besides using my tail to carefully stitch it closed.

    • @MochaStitch
      @MochaStitch  2 роки тому +2

      I think I understand where you're seeing this hole, if I had to guess it would be that your chain stitches are too loose. Perhaps try again with tighter tension on the starting chain, especially that first stitch and hopefully that will help :)

    So for round 3 would it be = 1 sc, 2 increase, 13 sc, 2 increase, 1 sc, 2 increase ,13 sc, 2 increase?

    • @MochaStitch
      @MochaStitch  3 місяці тому

      In this case, round 3 would be 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 6 sc across, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc then rotate and do the same back to the starting point. Round 4 would be 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc and 6sc across etc.
      They key is to have 8 increases in each round to keep it flat as the oval gets bigger :)

    Would you be able to write a written pattern for this? I am so confused as to why one said of round two had 2 increases and then the other side had four?

    • @MochaStitch
      @MochaStitch  2 роки тому +1

      It's because the round starts at one end of the oval. The round starts and ends with 2 increases so once the round is complete there should be 4 increases on each end!

  • @jessica-tq1sf

    I can't figure out how you are getting 4 increases on each side past round 3. Adding an es tea SC between increases only allows me room for 3 increases on each side?

    • @MochaStitch
      @MochaStitch  2 роки тому

      Did you create 4 increases in round 2? There should always be 4 increases, for round 3 there is 1 sc in between the increases, round 4 would be 2 sc between each inc and it would continue that pattern for each round with one more sc each time

    How many increases should I make to end the oval???

    • @MochaStitch
      @MochaStitch  2 роки тому

      Sorry for the delay! For this oval it is 8 increases total, 4 on each side!

    I’ve not been crocheting long and I thought to better crochet the oval but, unlike the other commenters, I find this hard to follow. It seemed like the tutorial would clearly set me straight but nope! Just confused the heck out of me. ‘Bye!

    As i grow my oval it's getting wavy instead of staying flat, im really making sure to count the stitches right, why could this be? :c

    • @MochaStitch
      @MochaStitch  10 місяців тому

      I would assume the most likely reason is hook size (too small) and tension. What size is your hook and what size yarn are you using? Also what are you making?

    This video helped remind me how to do an oval but the way she holds everything is not how I was taught and because of this its very off-putting. I want to tell her to hold like this.

    • @MochaStitch
      @MochaStitch  10 місяців тому +3

      You can hold your work in any way that feels comfortable for you! There is no wrong way if the end result is the same :)
