54 degrees is too warm for that 5KW. Lol. I have a 2KW HCALORY built into a harbor freight Apache box with an upgraded diesel tank….kept the tent at 80 degrees in setting 2, on a 29 degree night. Great pick, Hcalory’s are really good.
I feel like the exhaust running to the rear were the fresh air intake is seems a bit of a bad idea it may not be a problem just seems the intake would suck in the fumes
The fresh air intake has a filter on it, and it is up above the heater. The exhaust is far enough away that it does not get near the intake. Zero fumes 👍🏼
@@KayakUSA1 The concern is that is will suck up exhaust gas into the "heated air" intake that will be blowing into your tent not the combustion air intake.
The intake is up above the heater with a filter, the exhaust blows far enough away that it doesn’t effect it 👍🏼 I appreciate you watching and for the support!👊🏼
@@KayakUSA1 I think that intake with the filter is for the combustion air, which should work fine. The intake for the air that is heated and blown into the tent is the larger intake on the end right near that exhaust. You might want to add a duct to the heated air input and route it away from that exhaust
So, TJ what happened to your Jackery Battery Unit? Also...I'd expect a mounting sled with appropriate small but tall wheels and a folding handle for increased portability especially sliding it underneath your truck. Just saying and Cool as the backside of the pillow as usual.
I still have my Jackery 👍🏼 I’m actually working on a few extra mods to the heater for portability. Can’t make it too tall though, it still needs to be compact.
Very cool project sir. I’m interested in how it pans out. We’ve got plans for mounting a RTT on our van for the grandkids and was planning on heating it this way. We’d need a longer vent hose is all. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the feedback

Nice video….. Give us an update on how long the battery last. If it will run all night or not. That would solve allot of problems.
Put some magnets on the back of the plate, then plastic dip some other magnets for outside the tent. It'll hold way better than velcro
Thx for sharing. That's a great idea. You need to patent it.
Thanks for watching, be sure to checkout my channel and subscribe 👍🏼

@@kylebrazell6575 It's not close enough to do that.. I have ran this heater several times now, it works great.
Cool project... we need an update on the pup tho!
Thanks! We actually found her a good home and she’s sleeping inside now with a nice family! 👍🏼
Can you run it until the battery dies? Wondering how long it will run like that.
Gonna test it out this weekend 👍🏼
Just curious isn't your exhaust now going into your intake?
I love your videos by the way just wondering is all

Nice job on the video. How long does that Dewalt battery last on one charge?
Testing that this week, thanks for watching! 🤙🏼
Just got a heater like this and am doing the battery mod with a Milwaukee M18. Where did you get the flex hose?
Amazon 👍🏼
What a great video. I may use that idea myself. But i gotta know .. what happed with the doggo?
We found her a good home. She’s doing great now, sleeping inside a warm house with a nice family 👍🏼
