It needed to be said! I've been purchasing directly from PMG Labs since 2017 and their service has ALWAYS been awful, pandemic or not. I worked in luxury beauty years ago, and my educated guess is that they haven't bothered investing in their fulfillment and customer service, which is truly a shame for a LUXURY brand. That being said, not once have I been let down by the performance of a PMG product, so I continue to be a customer (I just purchase from Sephora whenever possible, but we know mother likes her website exclusives). I don't necessarily agree that PMG is becoming the "MAC of luxury beauty," but I do think they're trying to make the brand more accessible, hence the palettes that come in cardboard packaging. However, I think the packaging quality varies far too much between Pat's more expensive items and her more accessible items. NARS is able to produce beautiful packaging as a mid-tier brand, so WTF Pat?! Anyway, great video!
I totally agree with you on the pat. I’ve purchased from her site and it took so long the excitement was gone by time i received my package. A lot of the of the brands is starting to feel like Mac to me, that’s why I got into High end Luxury makeup. It’s new to me, and now I’m really enjoying makeup again!! Thanks for sharing. However, I love this palette and highly recommend to someone who has never dipped their toe in Pat's pond. I love your vibe and your voice is so soothing to listen to. I also was quite disappointed with the Rose Decadence 6-pan palette and could've easily passed on purchasing it. I agree with you about the shipping as well (unacceptable). The brand is lucrative and should have the shipping on point. I order directly from Fenty quite a bit and while it may not be a "luxury" brand, the customer service and shipping are great. I was on the fence with this mega palette and did not order it. I have one of the Star Wars 6-pans (Dark Galaxy) so I wasn't sure if it would be worth it for me to buy it. I love the shades from the gold version but I don't know if it is enough for me to splurge. I was in high school and made my mom take me to the mall to buy it after your review lmao. Oh the memories. But this look turned out STUNNING. This palette reminds me of Jackie Aina's palette. You are right about the limited shade variations, I would have loved to have a blue shade, a steel grey and at least 2 more mattes.
Yep. I ordered mine within 5 minutes of the launch and it took 12 days and I had to contact customer service. MEANWHILE, I ordered a Pat quad (the remianing one from last year, I'm not feeling this year's launch) and a bunch of Suqqu on Monday from Selfridges and had it by noon on Wednesday. I mean, come on Pat. As for the colourpop/MAC-ization of Pat, I think she's been trending there since DR!!. I'm going to give it until her next Mothership launch to decide, but I am getting the same vibe.

Shadow quality is maintained, but with all the of the great shadow options out there she’s less of a standout. I’m scared to admit that her brand is feeling very MAC-esque; but sadly I think you nailed it. Thanks for keeping it real. 🤞🏽 hope she’ll reconnect with the magic we originally fell in love with.
Just an suggestion, sweetie...it would really help when you’re applying your shadows if you zoomed in a little closer; as it’s really difficult to see the details of what you’re doing from so far away. I completed my order two minutes after the palette launched on the website, yet it took 10 days for them to even ship it. If the launch was crazy (like everything selling out within five minutes as has happened in the past), I would understand the slow shipping. But that palette still hasn't sold out. It wasn't that hectic of a release, so I don't understand why they've been having the same issues for over a year now. I'm pretty sure I actually got my Star Wars palettes quicker than Celestial Divinity.

I appreciate your candor. It is refreshing. I agree with you. Too much pink and purple. This palette was a pass for me even though it is a great value. I don't even have the Star Wars palettes. I was hoping the pink motif was for spring and summer but it seems here to stay. I will probably get one of the quads - the one without the pink. I am disappointed that only one of the quads has a special shade though. I am hope she does something different for the next Mothership palette. I purchase PML from Sephora. I have heard only bad things about shipping from people, who order from her website, even from the very beginning so that has been happening since 2017. I can see your Mac comparison especially with the repetition of shades and that unoriginal highlighter color. Maybe she should have less palette releases to keep the brand concepts fresh. This launch was my first time getting my stuff late I usually get my stuff in 2 days. I am also a new customer (since feb) but I have ordered in every sale plus the last 3 launches. So in my personal experience it’s an isolated incident but I’ve heard stories. I bought the whole bundle bundle. I emailed to find out when it would ship. They said next week, apologized and credited me an additional 10%. Then UPS shows up with mothership mega and the lipsticks. No packing slip. No quads or highlighter. So honestly I’m not sure what’s going on but I have a feeling I’m gonna end up getting extra stuff. It seems to be no record that this stuff was even sent to me. I won’t be mad but I do understand what you’re saying.

Also, I wonder if the shipping depends on location? I went and purchased 5 palettes because of you 😒 and I made 2 separate orders and was shocked that they arrived in 2 days one order and in 3 the next. I love PML eyeshadows. I do dislike the 2wk wait to receive products ordered on her website. I also wish she had more colors outside of gold, pink and purple in her latest launches. I think she needs to slow down on the eyeshadow palettes. It's time for blushes and bronzers.
I took well over a year off from Pat Mcgrath because of her bs customer service. I never ever ever got an order I placed. Over a month later, I got a refund. But I started buying slowly from her again. I got my package in a decent time frame. But personally, I'm only buying when she has a sale.

I’ve supported her for yeaaaaars but it’s okay to *read* the ones we love😆 None of the new/indie/overwhelmed excuses work for a multi-millionaire industry veteran. And you really made a point when you said it’s giving MAC of the luxury world tease - they are ever so slowly sacrificing the luxury to please the masses... and yet still displeasing 😂 Stick to your luxe label or cheapen the brand in the long run. I wish mine took 2 weeks!!! Every time I've ordered from her website it has taken between 30 to 60 days to arrives and the mothership palettes always arrive crushed! I love her brand so much but I cant! I stick to ordering her brand from sephora now. I didnt buy the new palette because I love the luxury of the brand so im not going to this brand for the "affordable" section of the brand. As for MAC, the edge over PAT is that MAC has the cult following of people who repurchase and stock their kits with their stuff. Like I know I will always repurchase fix plus, MSF natural , yash lipstick and chestnut lip liner but i actually dont see myself repurchasing any of the 20+ Pat items I have for some reason. Pat better not go down the mac lane because without that solid line of items people will always repurchase, the new releases will eventually not interest people and their permanent line wont be enough to support the brand if people arent repurchasing.

1st of all let’s hear it for the cinematics, dramatics and so forth 👏🏽 I wrote a diatribe similar to yours in my community tab during one of my many order/cancellation/shipping fiascos w/PMGLABS. I’ve supported her for yeaaaaars but it’s okay to *read* the ones we love😆 None of the new/indie/overwhelmed excuses work for a multi-millionaire industry veteran. And you really made a point when you said it’s giving MAC of the luxury world tease - they are ever so slowly sacrificing the luxury to please the masses... and yet still displeasing 😂 Stick to your luxe label or cheapen the brand in the long run.

I wish mine took 2 weeks!!! Every time I've ordered from her website it has taken between 30 to 60 days to arrives and the mothership palettes always arrive crushed! I love her brand so much but I cant! I stick to ordering her brand from sephora now. I didnt buy the new palette because I love the luxury of the brand so im not going to this brand for the "affordable" section of the brand. As for MAC, the edge over PAT is that MAC has the cult following of people who repurchase and stock their kits with their stuff. Like I know I will always repurchase fix plus, MSF natural , yash lipstick and chestnut lip liner but i actually dont see myself repurchasing any of the 20+ Pat items I have for some reason. Pat better not go down the mac lane because without that solid line of items people will always repurchase, the new releases will eventually not interest people and their permanent line wont be enough to support the brand if people arent repurchasing.
