and the point of turning the monitor vertically to give you acute neck ache is what?
what kind of heat does it put out?
Can't wait to get this baby on monday!
Me too, I was almost able to pick it up today but the Best Buy system wouldn’t let them check it out lol
@@kyledougherty1268 dude. I did the same thing last night. Samsung let me have it BB manager said nope.
It was hard to send this review unit back , it's really something!
@@pewX3 I actually got it yesterday from Micro Center. I was up until 3am playing with it. IT IS HUGE!
@@MusclesAVS how do u like it so far ?
wow, I can feel the bass.
what is the USB-B use for?
for how much it cost why is there no display port seeing that most item have stop useing HDMI portsnow days
what is the Desksite and what do your prefer? I have like 140cm to 70cm. I hope it will be good. Otherways I have to change my Desk too :)
Honestly buy a new desk. That beast is heavy first and you'll need like 160x80 desk because i dont think its enough space for everything you will need for a proper desk setup
It doesn’t come with a display port?
No, which makes zero sense to have 165Hz refresh with HDMI only having 60Hz
pls could you give me an idea if you saw both of these;
lets say i will play spiderman, god of war, rdr2 etc. what should i choose, 32'' 4k for more crispyness or 42'' 4k for more immersiveness (idk if i use these words correctly but i think you'll get it),
i wanna know is extra ppi worth to choose over extra immersive screen size
I just got mine and think I need to send it back. I'm running a one year old mackbook pro (loaded) for PRODUCTIVITY/ NOT GAMING. I scaled down the resolution so that the fonts aren't massive, and it makes the resolution so poor that its distracting and photos look bad. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong before I return it?
It's a quirk of MacOS. Please watch this video:

I know this is old, but don't change the monitor resolution - change the UI/font scaling.
Damn he was get them points up on COD 👀
Really want dual Display Port. One day!
And multiple inputs running at the same time. That would be perfect.
G Sync kompatibel?
According to the Samsung site it's only Free sync
there is an nvidia software that apparently enables gsync
with 2 display each side of 27 inch in protrait must be incredible
Why would anyone want this thing vertical?
I just got one and I love it. It has its cons but damn is it good
I checked this Samsung Odyssey Ark 55 inch Monitor and here are some of my observation
1. When used in vertical mode, you can not set 2nd window or any tab of already opened browser in lower window in above two windows, only youtube and Samsung Web browser can be opened in it from Samsung in built App.
2. Samsung has no built in windows separator /organizer software to arrange the window automatically.
3. Not sure about the effect of such huge screen (which is not OLED) on your eyes in long run.
4. Sound of this monitor is superb, Played Calm Down song it was pleasant listening to it, you will love its audio and deep thumping base, found the sound little less but ok for monitor.
5. When used in vertical mode, the lower portion of monitor can not be set 90 degree to table , its lilt so you may find it awkward.
6. It would have been great deal, if Samsung had provided feature to make the curve flat completely or be able to set 4 16:9 ratio windows in on screen like keeping two 49 inch monitor just one above the other.
Overall its look like it's half baked product and should be sold for price of $1200-$1500. Hopefully 2nd or 3rd gen will grab huge attention.
Meh, it's only VA.
Waste of money. Just buy a LG oled if you want a big screen. And also who in their right mind would put a 55 inch 4k screen on their desk the PPI is so low. You don't want to be going above 32 inch at 4k. Maybe in 5 years when 8k is a thing I would be intrested a larger screen
Samung monitors don't come anywhere near 2,000 nits, it's just marketing BS.
I love my gaming monitors, but GD....no way im spending 4 grand on this lol. At this point just buy a TV. Just MO
There is no Display Port. Only one main input. That's not a monitor, it's a 55 inch TV that costs $4000 plus tax!
You realize HDMI 2.1 is better than DP 1.4 right?
@@Sheepona1994 You realize not everyone has HDMI 2.1, right? DP 1.4 has been common in gaming laptops/PCs for few years.
@@arsis2500 if you don't have a 30 series or equivalent you shouldn't be buying this anyway
@@ghibletwhat about a Xbox series X. I’m looking for it for work but also some gaming at times.
How did you remove the damned stand? I want to send it back but I cant remove the stand. I tried for 2 DAYS! and the stand does not budge!!!
