Finding a good place to live is key to the entire Phils experience. Not easy but apparently it is possible. Also can only be done after arrival in most cases. Good info Kevin!
It would be great as a follow up to do a apartment/condo/house tour in some different price ranges to give a good idea of what someone can get for their money.....just a thought
If you walk down the road past Racer about a block....hidden off the road about 200 feet to the left is one of the best restaurants in Dumagiette. Buglas Isla Cafe... Great food, beautiful place, live music. Only reason I found it was I stayed at the Sierra. I like that side of town too, but on certain days the runoff from Dumagiette sewage can make the ocean a little " Ripe" along there.
I’m not sure if Isla Cafe is the same place, but I was told there’s a place behind the Dumaguete Hotel that has incredible steaks. Fortunately ive never been down there when the sewerage acts up. That could definitely put a damper on Al fresco dining 🤢
Thanks for watching! Yes, I’m going to do at least one more video maybe two in the area. We ate dinner at a place on Hibbard, and I did some filming but didn’t include it because this video was already too long
Yea, the weather looks great. Personally I rather beaches with palm trees and coconut trees.. It will be nice if you have a chance to video it on business hours when it's full of people. Thanks for the info.
Thanks again for watching John! I’ll probably get a hotel room down there and do a sunset-night video there. I’m interested in seeing the area when it’s packed as well
@Mark-wv6sg what makes you think so. People in the video look OK. Even a security guard with full uniform stays relaxed. But until I get there, I can't confirm it..
I had a beef steak in that mexican restaurant about two weeks ago, it was my last night in the Philippines so thought I'd treat myself. To use your phrase, it left something to be desired 😮
I lived in Amigo Subdivision behind that area. Lantow and Cafe Racer are the best places to eat on that end off town. Interesting to see the first places in your Video are now open. Went back to the USA Sept. of 2020 and they weren't open then.COVID probably delayed... At the point you turned back is Silliman Beach. They have some facilities in that area. If you had turned left instead of turning around you would be passing Silliman Agricultural and you can buy fresh milk and eggs there and maybe turkey. I recommend Belcris for a decent frozen turkey (And other western style meats) but expect to pay. I'd rather eat a steak at Cafe Racer than pay 40-50 bucks for one to cook. Nice to see all the new shops open!
Yes, I would love to see any rentals nearby, both apartments and houses, if possible. Would also like your take on the hospitals like Silliman...quality, etc. Salamat Po!

The actual dump is up the road towards Valencia Palin Pinon (Sp) road, and people scavenge there its by the river so avoid the river and any fish from there.
Thanks for subscribing! If I wasn’t living in a beach front apartment in Bacong, I’d definitely be in Valencia. Less traffic and noise, close enough to shopping in Dumaguete, and slightly cooler temperatures 😉
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 looked nice but come on now 😆 I want at least breakfast and a happy ending for that price on Dumaguete. You can stay a week elsewhere with breakfast for that kind of money.

@Corey H I recommend Pinili & Associates Dental near Silliman Hospital. A bit more expensive than other local place. I just had a very thorough cleaning for $27 USD.
