BrotherTill Residency at Artscape | Week 2

For the second week of the residency, Mathijs of BrotherTill travelled to Vredendal, 3 hours from Cape Town. Birthplace of co-founder of the ONS PERSPEKTEIF project, Simon Witbooi aka HemelBesem. Simon is on a mission that is about honour, being true to your roots and through love and equality exposing problems in society. In the video, he shares his story.
This week Mathijs will work together with Simon and other local creators and explore each other's individual values and discover what values we all share.
About the BrotherTill Residency at Artscape:
The Dutch artist collective BrotherTill has been invited for a four-week residency in November 2021 at Artscape in Cape Town. ONS PERSPEKTIEF, the current project of BrotherTill, is an international and interdisciplinary collaboration project between BrotherTill and various South African rappers and will be continued during the residency. BrotherTill will come together with South African musicians, artists, writers, filmmakers and theatremakers in and outside the theatre. They will explore, create and meet each other. The residency is about: Who are we and who am I?
