  • We were expecting fireworks around Waitangi commemorations, and indeed they came.
David Seymour, the man behind the Treaty Principles Bill, made his way onto the Treaty Grounds on Wednesday, where he was heckled, had his microphone taken away and had hosts literally turn their backs on him. Senior political correspondent Jenna Lynch was there. | Subscribe: bit.ly/2JPg8oB

If he didn't turn up, they would've had a go at him for disrespecting the culture. He turns up to speak, n they heckle him, take his microphone off him - twice - and turn their backs to him. Keep fighting, David!

Good on David Seymour. It shows that David Seymour is on the right track with the Treaty Principles Bill. It's time we moved on so all New Zealanders are one with equal rights.

Very disrespectful from the Maori side. Acting very childish, turning the microscope off. It's such a shameful act.

He should have left. The first time they took his microphone. Who the hell do they think they are.

Jones barking at the Mexicans isn't our culture either. He needs to stay quiet in the cheap seats. NZ First haven't won anything except being first and last to insult races. Peters was sacked by Shipley for exactly the same thing and they both need to be expelled. If we said what they said at the workplace, we'd rightfully be gone. Why does Peters and Jones feel entitled?
