Huh. I have never seen someone put the filter on the block first then the housing...I've always seen the filter go inside the filter housing first (it clicks in), then screw the entire assembly on. That's how ive always done it.

Thanks for the video, very informative! Not sure of which year you have, but for the 2020, you don't wait for the "I" to blink 3X for the oil maintenance reset. As soon as the 'I' start to blink, release the decrease cruise control button, you'll get the message that it reset. If you hold till it blinks 3X, you don't get any message and it will not reset the maintenance message.
Here's the instruction from Volvo Manual:
How to reset the service light in a Volvo XC90?
As with a Volvo XC90 check engine light reset, you'll want to bring your vehicle into a service center first. If the light is still on after your service appointment, follow these instructions to perform a Volvo XC90 service reset:
Turn your Volvo XC90 key to the first position or quickly press your START/STOP button.
Press and hold the "-" button on your steering wheel (used for decreasing cruise control speed).
Keep the "-" button held and start your vehicle.
Keep holding the "-" button until the "i" symbol appears on your dashboard.
Release the "-" button. An alert should appear to confirm that the service light has been reset.

Why replace engine oil every 5k when the dealership recommends 7500 to 10k? Asking seriously cause, friend of a freind, owns a volvo repair shop and said the same thing (every 5k)

Some say the manufacturer increases it because the life of your vehicle would be shortened and they can sell more vehicles more often. That's because your engine will last a lot longer the more you change it. Metal pieces and other junk gets carried by the oil through your engine.

@@s-w I'm incline to agree! I just replaced with only 6K mile and it was supper dark and dirty (Not sure if you want that in your vehicle any longer than 5K). Volvo is changing to 10K mile because they can sell more vehicles.

Replacing oil sooner doesn’t cost much, consider it as cheap insurance. Granted the pistons and gears don’t always need very fresh oil, but the turbo bearings do.
