Say what you will about them (pimpish, gaudy, whatever) I never get tired of seeing that CE grille. This is the very BEST era of Eldorado Biarritz, and that grille complements it beautifully… Oh, and that chime! You can tell the little hammer is getting kind of tired of hitting that bell 😅
I worked on these Eldo Convertibles when they were new as a Cadillac Master Craftsman... They had their flaws but were great drivers and incredibly comfortable.... Great color on this drop top too ! Good Luck Anthony !
Anthony, gloves my friend. 23 degrees ain't no joke! About the Eldorado, my late mother had a 84 Biarritz coupe in Hatteras blue, but with a fully blue interior 💙. Excellent review and very thorough.
This car deserved the engine CLEANED. Surprised you left it as nice as it looks inside. And GM didnt say no more convertibles Cadillac said that in 1976.
Anthony never disappoints. I will be a customer one day. I love his Town Cars. This is a beautiful Cadillac. I have a 85 Coup that is frame off restored.
You're right Anthony! This is the best color combo. I'm not a fan of the grill. I just wish they had better engines, but it is what it is! Say hello to Pappa 🐻.
Get a '79 or '80 if you can find any left. First 2 years had a 350 Olds engine, cast iron block. '81-'85 have an HT 4100 aluminum block, undersized horsepower for a heavy car. "HT" stands for "hook & tow".
I own a 1983 Cadillac Eldorado with the HT system. Which stands for high-technology. As Anthony said the car is over 40 years old. I never had a problem with the engine. I also own a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado ETC commemorative edition. I have number five. It has the north star system never had a problem with the engine. I have owned over six Cadillacs. With the North Star system. On 3 of them I put over 270,000 Mi on them. With no problem whatsoever. I am very upset they stop making the Eldorado it is such a beautiful car.
The blisters on the paint area also caused by improper paint solvent being trapped between layers. Chances are that these blisters did not exist until the surface was aggressively detailed with a buffer. The heat generated by buffing activates the trapped solvent and causes it to expand thereby creating the blisters.
My first car was a 1980 triple brown non convertible. It was a beast in the snow and never got stuck til I was on a snow bank in a shopping center parking lot. Lol wish I had another one.
Absolutely love the color combination! I have a soft spot for these Eldorado Biarritz and Sevilles, that share the nose and platform. Good deal on a ready to cruise Biarritz convertible!
Beautiful car maybe it’s just me but I see lots of potential in this baby is it still available or can you maybe give me a call once another one is in stock I see that you do plenty of classic Cadillacs
Hello Anthony & Papa Bear, this Biarritz convertible is spectacular!!! The color combo is striking. The grill is very nice as well. I can see that it's very cold there, here in California the temperature is in the mid seventies!!! Thanks for sharing this exciting video!!! 👍👍🎄☃️
@@paulgozzo9178 Hello Papa Bear, I must say that I love the weather here in Southern California, I can see snow on the mountains but I don't have to drive in it & there's no salt on the roads!!! ☃️
First thing I removed on my '84 Seville. OMG what were they thinking including the hole they drilled in the hood too. I used the hood chrome trim from a '82 or '81 to cover the hole with. Lucky it was able to do that. I suspect this Eldo has a hole in the hood also. I suppose the same hood trim for the Sevile could be used to cover it if someone wanted to remove that faux RR grille.
Man, I am so tempted, and the price is right within by budget. The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is I LITERALLY ...in the true sense of the word... do not have the TIME. If I was younger and had more time to devote to fixing it up, I would get it.
She is beautiful if, i had the money. I'd by one and replace the 4100 with a northstar v8. Expensive but worth it. Still a beautiful ride and worth the money just to cruse and enjoy the looks.
It's still a gorgeous car. It's my dream car to have in really good condition and low mileage but it has to be a hard top with the stainless roof. I'm not a fan of convertibles.
Nice car! GM missed the mark here by putting the 4100 i it. I get that they wanted it to be fuel injected and have it's own special engine unlike other GM divisions but had this had the Olds 307 4V it would have been a much better and reliable car.
I have an 83 same car stainless top brown leather and Champaign paint ..90,000 miles all paper work history book window stickers cb radio all original in good conditions not excellent but does look very nice how mouth would u say it is worth $$$$? Appreciate the help do want to sell it.

This must have been a custom order because the Eldorado convertible was only available in Autumn Maple Firemist or Cotillion White. (At least that's what the original 1984 brochures said).
@@patcurrie9888 According to my burgundy 1984 Cadillac Eldorado brochure; they did not. I was also in my teens at the time and do not recall ever seeing anything but... and as my UA-cam name suggests, I'm not unfamiliar with Cadillacs. 😁
Stay away from these cars ! Absolutely worst cars ever built ! I know this from experience of owning one of these cars . They constantly overheat and are seriously underpowered !
@@keithbenson2627it’s really just the engine. I had one, it never overheated if the cooling system was kept up but yeah… junk engine. Everything else seemed ok for an 80s gm anyways 😂
I don't know any credible 4100 haters, anyone I've ever heard badmouth 4100's, I'd never seen or known to own or drive a Cadillac. Out of the 10 or 12 I've owned, I've only once came across one with bad lifters, and nothing a once a month can of lifter-medic couldn't handle.
Have you ever come across authentic new or NOS urethane bumper fillers for anything ? I haven't. The only thing I've ever come up with is fiberglass, and hit and miss on fit quality, and terrible fit on most.. The fatal flaw is that urethane seems to have a 20 year shelf life, regardless of the environment / climate.
Absolutely the most thorough and honest presentation of a 40 year old automobile. Very well done!
This downsize was a really nice compromise. If they'd kept the Olds 350 in it, perfect.

So stylish. Can’t believe. It’s. 40 years old. Nice colour. Thanks
Excellent review, pretty car. I must say, like the body style, but I prefer the Riviera. I like the grill better and it had a stronger Oldsmobile V-8.

Dude sorry it's so cold, thank you for enduring to show us such a beautiful car, one of the nicest looking of the era IMHO. 👍
The grille ruins the car. Wonder if the original grill is behind it? Otherwise a beautiful car.
No the original one is gone. Not my style either but it was on the car already and is a common thing to see on them from back then
Yes, I was kid growing up in South Florida surrounded by retirees. Definitely was common to see those grilles everywhere back then!

I actually took the cap off to replace the chrome trim gasket and it only has the original hood ornament hole under there.

Or even the Chevy 305 or 350, or the Buick 3.8 Turbo. Pretty much any engine would have been a massive improvement.

Pretty sure it’s the olds 307/350/403 that are the easiest swaps.
Those engines allowed you to get better gas mileage than most foreign car's.
Is it for sale ?

Hi Anthony
I had a 4100 in an 82 coupe DeVille garbage caught fire drop a old 350 in there from a Cutlass

For a certain demographic of your viewers, that car is and will only ever be 20 years old. 40 is just not possible. 😮
Believe me I can’t believe it’s 40 as well.
This looks like the same Cadillac from the ending of La La Land
Mine was red without that grill, that grill makes it less collectible, sadly. I had the red red with white top. 1985.
Cool 😎

" Gorgeous " ! ! !👌
How much sir im very interested
Nice caddy
Who passed away? At least they drove it and didn't leave it sit to look at. Not a bad asking price too.
very nice.
How much for the Eldorado cash money needs a little work I understand
How much
"convertible" means the top goes down !! ... this is a cloth top from a body shop !! (a regular roof)
How much?
I need this car
Now 10 grand for this car that's reasonable
I'm looking for one non convertible
At least at this age and mileage, there’s a good chance the 4100 has already been replaced long ago lol
135 Horse Power ..Not as bad as Cadillac Seville having 80 Horses! 🥴🤔
Did you sell this yet?
Yes sold
If it's still available I have $6500.00🤷🏽♂️

Brrrrrrrritz!
Yeah leave her in the eighties.
4100 motor right? Nooooo THANK YOU!😒
The 4100 in a Cadillac was the worst engine in my opinion they ever put in any card
Lincolns definitely hold up so much better than Cadillacs. The interior quality of Lincolns is far superior to Cadillacs.
It seems to be a $2500.00 - 3500.00 dollar car , close to what you paid! I'm disappointed in this one.
