Well said, Trump of all people should know how crooked our Justice System is. I don't know how it's possible that he thinks that only his rights are being trampled. We Americans paid $3.2 billion in lawsuits last year because of bad policing. Then Trump wants to give them full eminimity? I guess the lawsuits would stop. But in the end, our rights will be voided all in the name of policing.
My children and I are not and have never been police officers, undercover or otherwise. Morality has been lost on Americans. The lies folks are being fed.

I don't mind police enforcement at all. But, Qualified Immunity needs to be abolished, and training of the Constitution needs to be a requirement to pass law enforcement training.

Police officers should be held to the same standard as every other citizen and should not be above the laws that they swear to protect and uphold. I support Mr. Trump as far as border patrol, the economy, foreign policy and other things. But we certainly part ways when it comes to giving carte blanc to law enforcement. That is greenlighting the abuses that have happened in policing in this country 😕

"Liberty and justice for all" should mean justice for ALL. People complain about a two-tiered system. That's what qualified immunity is..a tier of justice for one group that is not afforded to everyone else. We either have justice for all, or there is no justice at all. There's just selective enforcement.

There is no such thing as qualified immunity where I police in the southern states . That's only up north or out west . We also do not have police unions , unions are the issue up there . We also are required by the state and federal agencies to undergo college accredited courses on the constitution and constitutional rights of every citizen . The problem is very few agencies other than the extremely well funded ones want to have their officers go through much needed continual education and training because they do not want to foot the bill . The better training means better officers = happier citizens but higher budget .

People own the government not the other way around we need to make that clear.
Immunity is the absolute worst thing for 'law enforcement'. That is exactly the mechanism by which they hold themselves above the law. It is quite easy to do when the law says they can not be held responsible for their criminality in 'law enforcement'.
Nothing makes them immune to prosecution for criminal activity, that includes on the job. The uninformed like to rail on about qualified immunity, which only protects from civil prosecution. Getting rid of that would only make it more difficult to prosecute the most wealthy and well connected people by forcing and officer or detective to have to defend themselves from frivolous lawsuits brought forward by vengeful suspects or convicts.
Blanket immunity would be bad but that does not appear to be on offer.

We need proper law enforcement, officers who uphold the constitution and the rights of every citizen… having seen many videos where law enforcement officers have abused their power in arrogance.
Qualified immunity allows police officers to respond to incidents without pause, make split-second decisions, and rely on their training and the current state of the law in making those decisions. The loss of qualified immunity protection would have a profoundly chilling effect on police officers and would limit their ability and willingness to respond to both critical incidents and routine calls for service without hesitation.
Qualified immunity does not protect officers that "knowingly violate the law." In cases where it is obviously, or sufficiently clear, that the officer's conduct was unlawful, qualified immunity is unavailable and the case will proceed to trial.
I agree more law and order but these officers need constitutional training badly.
Revoke Qualified Immunity. We need this to improve the behavior of law enforcement. Enforce annual recertification by knowledge and understanding of our Constitutional Rights.
