Superb footage of The Second Hardest Working Man In Show Business. Last time I saw Ol' Blue Eyes (Ig is a massive fan of JB and Sinatra) perform "Sweet Sixteen", was back at the defunct Rainbow venue in 1977. The last of the true iconic rock'n'roll performers, still wiping the floor with any playground pretenders. He still remains The King. Shame about the low viewing figures.
Well said, Rob! Glad you enjoyed the film. Was the Rainbow gig the one where David Bowie joined him on stage for one number? A pal of mine was at that one. I've seen Iggy three times in the last three years. Check out a couple of my other UA-cam pieces - touching The Man and joining a stage invasion
Steve Holland Steve, I first saw Iggy with Bowie on keyboards, during "The Idiot" tour on Sunday March 5th 1977 at the Rainbow. He remains the most exciting performer to grace a stage.I have seen him many times over the past thirty nine years. The Stooges at Hammersmith Apollo August 2005, was the greatest concert I've ever attended. I didn't go to another gig for nearly three years after that astonishing set !. I've seen Joy Division, Clash, Jam Stones,Bowie,Jeff Buckley, Springsteen, Tom Waits, Sex Pistols, James Brown and many more. They have all been superb, but nobody has matched The Ig, period. .
Steve Holland Steve, just to let you know Ig is releasing "Post Pop Depression :- Live At The Royal Albert Hall" on October 28th on DVD.The visual/sound quality is superb. It must have been one hellva night !
So glad you cought the atmosphere of the gig. I wanna do that again.x
