Quality, Not Quantity - Khutbah by Nouman Ali Khan

- This khutbah was recorded on October 20, 2017 at the Bayyinah Foundation Musalla.
One of the most profound and powerful statements in the Quran occurs in Surah An-Najm. Here Allah says that no one will carry anyone else’s burden (wizr) and that each of us will be held accountable for the choices we make. In this passage, Allah is addressing those who find it difficult to follow the “uncomfortable” parts of the faith. He compares them to people who appease themselves with inner monologues about how good they are because they give a little charity. They minimize their mistakes and maximize their good deeds, thinking they are enough to compensate for bad deeds. But only Allah can judge as He will ultimately measure our effort. It is the quality of the effort we make relative to our potential, that we will be held accountable for, not how we performed in comparison with other people.
Ustadh Nouman never fails to remind me of how I am not carrying my responsbility as a muslim.

At the end of the day, you and I will be judged by Allah, not anyone else... and what he is teaching has nothing to do with what he does in his private life ... and I sure do hope you listen to the message and not his personal life and his personal wrongdoings.
Seller I stopped listening to him for a while just because of that reason...but the fact of the matter is, there isn't enough good English content out there so unless someone else does the same, he will continue on to do the lecture; I am subscriber to his tv website too and yes it's down right dirty and is complete opposite to what he teaches...
There is a hadith about death and the first people to go in hell and the top 3 categories would be people who preached; the people who gave charity and the ones who gave their life (shaheed) those hypocritical people would light the fire of hell on the day of judgement... Then come all others who would be lesser of the hypocrite... hence I said we are all sinners ... some bigger than others ... May Allah have mercy on us all. What he is teaching is Quran and that is truth from Allah; what he did is between the women he tricked and Allah. He will have his reward from both his deeds from Allah. Maybe his deeds be given to those women; Allah is the best in judgement.

I listen to lectures in Arabic by Mashayikh like Al Maghamisi or Sa`eed Al Kamali who have lectures that are truly beautiful. And so I always say, those who do not understand Arabic are missing out. But with Nouman Ali Khan, he is the only English speaker who, when I listen to his lectures, I truly believe those who do not understand English are missing out.
