Dude is talking about fighting tyranny, but he's a cop. Who does he think is enforcing the unconstitutional laws made by politicians? Cops are the tyrants.
You must be fun at parties, you also must be new here lol. I'm of the belief that you should be able to buy belt feds at the hardware store, also I don't know a single cop not a single one that supports the BS going on on the country. So you can stand outside of the machine and scream and throw rocks at it, I on the other hand am inside of it changing the way it works altering its course. People who say things like all cops are tyrants are the same to me as uneducated politicians calling ARs Assault Rifles. They both yell about things they know nothing about, only causing division in the communities by parroting whatever buzz words they heard on the magic box we call the TV
You’re talking about the men and women that put themselves in harms way to protect our children, grandchildren and community. I’m disappointed in my self for even responding to such an absurd comment but your ignorance compels me. I try to see everyone’s point of view. But I cannot get my head far enough up my ass to see yours.
@unclefreedom213 you can pay lip service all you want about wanting belt feds at hardware store. But have you enforced any gun laws? What have you changed on the inside? Have any unconstitutional laws been removed from the books? Have you stopped the political over reach? What have you done? You and I both know there are cops that support all this bs going on in this country. If they didn't, then we wouldn't be having these problems would we? I think you videos kick ass. Very informative. But don't act like cops are the good guys all the time. Politicians have no power unless someone I willing to enforce their will
I will add this for all to chew on. What creates change? You need more and more cops that aren't willing to kiss the ring. However you get guys like me a dyed in the wool patriot with an entire family linage of service in the military. We become cops to help people and change things we don't like. We then get berated and hated by the very people we are. Told you are the problem by people that have already lost because it's easier to say people are the problem, than it is to crawl inside of the machine and try to change its course. It's easier to lay the blame and say it's because some cops suck all cops overwhelmingly support tyranny. You sometimes just have to take the abuse to be the change in the world you want. Even from the people that should be you community. The worst part and what I see sometimes with addicts. They're just told they're an addict and they're always wrong eventually they believe it and just give in. Cops face that same thing told by all side they are the problem. Are there bad cops..... Shit yes there are terrible people that thi k the badge is a crown.
the ammo will be fun. I ended up doing a three tiered ammo video from ideal minimums at home to harsh reality if you bugged on foot. Then a true stock video with storage tips and ammo selection tips
5 for me would be 9mm handgun (VP9, P226) 5.56 rifle (Geissle Super duty with 1-8 LPVO) .22 (Ruger mark 4) 308 (bolt gun) 357 Revolver with moon clips for 9mm (smith and wesson) And 20k ammo and 100 mags for each. Extra barrels, mags, springs, trigger kids, oil, tools, etc etc.
What purpose would the 22 handgun serve if you have a 9mm handgun? Wouldn't a 22 rifle be more useful for over all use to replace the 22 pistol on your 5 list? Another is why a revolver if you already have a 9mm pistol? Why not a pistol caliber carbine on your list? I also did not see a shotgun on your list, Not knocking your choices, I like hearing other peoples rational vs mine and sometimes it influence my choices
@bluemouse5039 there is no reason for a shotgun. There is no reason for a PCC. The 22 LR pistol serves the same purpose as a 22 lr rifle. You are to killing anything at range anyways. Revolver is long lasting. (With moon clips you can use 9mm) 5.56, 9mm, 22lr stock piles are easy and cheap to create.
@@dutch0770 Wouldn't a pistol caliber carbine fill a void especially a folding kind that could be easily concealed where it could be easier to be accurate than a handgun at ranges out to 100 yards ,where you might not be able to take a battle rifle?
These videos never get old. It's always fun talking about what's the best for this or that scenario. But it's all theory. And it's not gonna be fun when it happens. I really liked the legend Paul Harrell's video on if he could only have one gun. He whittled it down to just the M9/92fs for a few reasons but because it's concealable and he shoots it the best. We never know for sure what scenarios the future will bring us, what it will really be like, but we can make predictions based on real world recent situations and historical precedents. Stay safe guys!
I may have different takes on things or disagree with you on equipment, tactics or other things, however our experiences are different. I wont cookie cutter a group of people, for instance cops and generalize over the stupidity lf one or a small amount of people, nor talk negatively of your takes because I disagree. I appreciate what youve done and are doing. It starts with yourself and within like you mentioned. Keep doing what your doing!!
This is why i love 300 blackout. Need defense? Shorty barrel can go 200 yards. Need to hunt? A bolt gun can get you up to a good sized deer or hog up to 300-400 yards. Need to be quiet? Subsonics are the quietest out there.
If I may... Fantastic vid, very informative with great specifics on your thoughts and choices. Now being i figure myself a "newbie" to the expansive world of gun choices the only thing i'd like to see is inserted pic's of your choices!?! Now, just my idea but links to either to your major choices or even all of them?!? (Although i understand that heaps work and time on your part, it would help those of us with less knowledge and understanding) In any case, Thank You for your video and info... please keepum coming take care and stay happy & healthy!!!
For handgun I love my versatility. I own an Sig P226 in .40 S&W with an additional.357 Sig barrel. I also acquired a Bar-Sto drop in 9mm conversion barrel.
Love the content Brother. I ended up purchasing 2 PHLSTER holsters from your recommendation and overview of it. Man, the Floodlight2 with my M&P 2.0 fullsize disappears on my person with that holster. Only problem now, is I need 2 Streamlight tlr-1 lights so I can "Hot Swap" from my G19 and my M&P. 😂 Stay Safe out there Brother. Semper Fidelis.
That's awesome I've gotten quite a few LE guys swapped to them as well they are just comfortable and excellent for concealment. I found Phlster later on so I already had lights on everything but I have had to buy more x300s because of the same issue
Simple, straightforward, and reasonable list, good stuff. I also have a 10/22 Hogue stock. Not threaded, but it's my favourite firearm for sure. I have a bunch of the 25 round mags, but I learned to shoot a-la Appleseed, oldschool style, where you're supporting the front of the gun under the magazine. They do get in the way, and I pull on them when they're in the gun and have induced malfunctions.
TY Sir, y'r my fav uncle (sorry no others are alive) lol very informative video, lots of things to think about. I tend to weigh the advantages of newer cal's vs somewhat inferior older ones (9 vs 40, 6.5 vs 308) tending to lean to older. the 762x39 vs 5.56 maybe being an exception. Lots of food for thought as always, TY again my friend, be well.
I do the same like the 6.5 us a fantastic round but and a big but the .308 is just stupid consistent gun to gun to the extent if you have a minimum 20 inch barrel with decent rifling and your gun doesn't shoot 175 SMKs your gun is broken. x39 has its merits but falls flat against the 5.56 there's a reasons the Russians went to 5.45
I agree with most everything you said. The only thing I would add is the shotgun plays no real roll anymore in a shit hit the fan situation. People ask me what kind of bolt gun should I get and I always ask them what is the furthest distance you think you will shoot it and what kind of environment do you live in. For example I live in a town in central california where all the land is fenced off and there are no long distance ranges. So here the longest shot you will take to defend your community is maybe 200 yards if you shoot down a street. So to me a rifle like a Tikka chambered in .270 or 308 with a decent 3-9x40 scope would make the most sense.
Age regarding optics on handguns is something I’ve never considered. I’m probably twice your age and have always dismissed it out of hand. Because I have great eyes and I’ve been trained on traditional handgun sights. Now I’m thinking…
Man you're in your 80s congrats on still shooting lol just messing with you. It definitely with increase your abilities and longevity as a proficient shooter
Never understood why people add a huge wml that extends 3 inches in front of the muzzle. What’s the point on carrying a g45 that has a g17 grip and a g19 length, yet have that huge light? Might as well just carry a g17 in the first place, or add a compact wml to that g45
I run a comp so it is 17 length. Also fullsize weapon lights offer standoff when needed. I also carry a gun for a profession where I must go in dark places looking for people that don't want to be found. Tlr7 is nice but it's nowhere near a duty light this has around 9 times the candela
I love my Benelli Super Black Eagle with a 24" barrel. Never had one hiccup and I heavily vet my equipment hunting. I also run a PSA AR10 in .308 for Wisconsin deer hunting. I also trust my PSA Dagger I carry every day.
Loved this vid!! I was laughing at #4 and knew you would say bolt gun!! Not that my opinion matters but I completely agree with your choices, in order!! I love my Benalli’s but am curious as to why you chose mossberg over Remington 870? No disrespect intended, my department (and many others) chose the 870…. Thanks for your great work and vids…keep them coming!!!👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I like them both and own both from maverick 88s to 535s and 590s, 870s to police magnums etc. I like them all but I have found the Mossbergs to be consistently good and well made and I've had some issues over the last 12 years or so with new remingtons just not being made as well
One thing about Remington 870's is the ejector. It is riveted in and I have seen several breaking loose on training range where I used to work. They are not as easy to replace. The ejector on Mossberg is held by a screw. I bought an extra ejector to have on hand in case it breaks and it will be easy to replace.
@@Armydood3013 they did it in the 1800’s. Know how to maintain your weapon. Only caring one type of ammunition for simplicity. Can use for self-defense and hunting.
You mentioned pre cov Aero precision M4E1 lower.....I know people are hating on Aero, did I miss something? Thanks for the great content. Troll are a sign of success. Congrats!
I heard there qc went down after they moved for a while but getting back up there but around 2021 or 2022 when they moved to different state I heard they got sloppy instead of there normally higher standard
In order of importance: 1. Glock 19 2. Ruger AR556 (just a basic AR) 3. Remington 870 4. Ruger 10/22 5. Sone sort of suppressed bolt action rifle (I have 1-4 so far, still working on figuring out #5)
@unclefreedom213 yeah I need it too! I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't include ammunition for the howitzer, Vulcan, and quad 50. I guess they would just have to look scary to keep most of the villains away.
@pughoneycutt1986 20 plus years ago I was stationed in Alaska and went to a range in Eagle River dude rolled up with a Tacoma with quad 50s in the back. I don't care how it got there I was just happier than a pig in shit
@unclefreedom213 in Georgia they deer hunt the swamps with dogs. They released the dogs on one side of the swamp and drive around to the other side and wait in the road for the deer. In 1990 I a truck with a double of some kind on the back. It looked like a yak yak but that would just blow the deer up, I didn't stop and ask, but have wished I had ever since
I think I would go with the Ruger PC Rifle Backpacker model in 9mm over the 10/22. It breaks down and can be attached to the stock for storage. The ammo is more reliable and can be used in my pistol. I’m good with the others on the list.
@Railroads-can-be-dangerous with the right load so bonded hollowpoint or even a 147gr xtp it's viable. I mean if you think about it 350 legend is a 9mm projo
1. Bolt action hunting rifle such as a tikka in 308 2. 12 gauge shotgun (3 flavors of ammo and everything in North america is now prey) 3. Pistol small enough to conceal but big enough to fight with. 4. Some fighting rifle, m1 grand, ar15, Ak47, mini 14, lever action upgraded 5. Surpressed platform for quiet needs such as bolt action 300 black out with a can.
so is this your order of importance? I do love the idea of a modernized lever gun especially In not free states. I have a lever in 30-30, 357 mag and a blr in 6.5( don't really like it though) I would love to modernized a .357 with an 16 inch barrel, eotech, LAM, light. Damn that would rock excellent capacity and fast AF
@@unclefreedom213 For my situation yes but for others this list needs to be switched around. Me too, I would love to get a lever action either in 357 which I have in abundance already or 45-70. For logistics reasons I am leaning 357. I would toss a Primary arms 3x prisms and a white light, extra ammo on the side and call it good. why don't you like the 6.5?
The S&W M&P 15-22 is a very good, reliable .22lr rifle. I've had one for years that has many many thousands of round though it. I also have a Ruger 10/22 that has a similar round count. I like the S&W cause I can hand it off to the wife and she can shoot it well, and to the uneducated it looks like she's packing a "scary black rifle". Also .22 CCI Velociter F's fairly decently out of a rifle*. The CMMG .22lr kit can be a nice addition to any AR loadout too imo.
I own a takedown 10/22, and have shot the "regular" 10/22. I LOVE to takedown. It is surprisingly accurate, it comes in a cool backpack. If you have the $$$, I would personally get the takedown, the way it "breaks down" and fits in a small backpack is so cool IMO.
This dude would hate my peasant list but everything goes bang when I pull the trigger and I hit my target. I do agree with his mags though. 1. Taurus gx4 carry 2. Taurus gx4 3. maverick 88 security 4. Psa15 in 5.56 with magpul furniture 5. Marlin model 60 in .22lr 6 mossberg mvp scout in .308
no 3 and 6 are both solid as hell. no4 I would look into an upgraded BCG from microbest, and for me ambi charging handle and trigger. The GX4 had some safety recalls recently but I have shot them and they were surprisingly nice to shoot. I'm not an elitist with gear but it's has to work. We all start somewhere and over the last 20 plus years I've just found what I really like
No experience with 1 and 2 but a friend has a G3 that he seems to really like and it works for him. I prefer S&W, but I’d rather have a G3 than nothing. 3. Is solid and many have withstood the test of time 4. Like Unclefreedom suggested. Upgrade your bolt when you get a chance. Throw some Sprinco springs in the bolt in it for back up and you’re good to go. 5. Solid. Grew up with a guy that shot the dog snot out of 1 and constantly called head shots on black birds. Ended up being a Marine sniper. And if I remember right it was his dads so well used before he got it. 6. No experience. But it’s a Mossberg. My experience with Mossberg is no frills just f’n works.. Most important thing is the go boom every time for you. You hit at what you are aiming and you can focus money on other necessities. Realize this. Reality is, a lot of people with high end gear will be donating said gear to those who bought something like a Savage axis scope combo from Walmart for like $300.. Reason being is they are stupid accurate for the money and an absolute crap ton have been sold.. More budget friendly firearms are sold than high end ones. The key is getting ones that just plain work and be proficient with them.. And I’m saying this as someone who owns higher end stuff.. You have a solid stable..
@@lanejohnson7656 the g3/g3c pistols are good but they really leveled up with the gx line. Improved triggers, ergonomics and barrels. I normally carry my gx4 with the 13 round mag which almost negates the need for the gx4 carry but it’s still nice to have.
Mine: M&P 2.0 Metal 9mm with 6 23 round mags and 4 17 round mags! Daniel Defense DD4V7 SLW Arid Rattlecan 5.56 with tons of mags. Then 22LR and 12GA. Need to get .308. 22LR, 9mm, 5.56, 12GA, .308 will be most available rounds if and when shtf.
FN is every bit as reliable as anything you listed, and IMO better value for dollars spent. My “one rifle” setup with all these scenarios in mind, is a DD5v3 in .308, with sling, light, BIS, a Trijicon SCO (MRAD non-specific tree) with the LaRue tactical mount.l and a dedicated suppressor. I have a 1301T Mod 2 with a sling, light, and EXPS2-0 on it. I have pistol setups in 9mm, .45, and 10mm as well as a B&T APC10 setup for suppressed SBR with an EXPS2-2. For small game and pests without burning through ammunition I have a 4500psi .25 air rifle that is sweet.
no cop I know is a fan of what the country is devolving into, constitutionally minded le is the best asset the modern Minutemen could hope for. I hear it all the time, BuT YoU WorK for the GubMeNT, YouRE a PArT Of THe PRoBLem. It's alot easier to change the course of the machine from the inside as opposed to standing outside of it throwing rocks at it.
@@unclefreedom213 other than a few scattered sheriff's offices, I haven't seen much in the way of cops standing against oppressive legislation (whether federal, state, or municipal). There are cops in my family and I'm familiar with plenty of their colleagues, and the general sentiment there is one of an insular degree of institutional loyalty and thinly veiled belligerence toward the rest of us. I'm sure that there are some good apples--statistically there must be--but the bunch is rotten overall and full of cops who, even if they personally disliked a tyrannical law, would still readily spend their shift enforcing it lest their pension be put in jeopardy.
Rural LE tends to be a different beast. We heckle folks for nit carrying a gun. LE agencies in around metro areas tend to be where your issues arise. I don't even think the bunch is rotten its a case just like everything else where the only ones that get talked about are the bad ones. Most of LE taking a stand is never known its little things we do like having a family member take firearms so the agencies don't have to take them ( think mental health stuff or alcohol) which mean people don't have to go through the crao to get thier stuff back
@@unclefreedom213 that's a fair point, actually. I'd definitely be able to see how rural police, working in the same community where they live (and may well have grown up in) would take a very different approach than municipal departments psyching themselves up at the start of every shift for a war of occupation against citizens who they don't know and ultimately couldn't give less of a shit about.
it is indeed heavy but I typically have a bull barrel so the weight there isn't an issue for me. If I needed a handier rifle synthetic thumb hole stock with standard profile barrel and a 2-7 or 1-8
shotgun, light rifle, bigger rifle, pocket sized hand gun, holster sized hand gun AND 22cal critter gun uhhh that's six ... for the bigger gun the right ADJUSTABLE gas block makes a semi- into a bolt action selectively OH YEAH ... LOTS A BULLETS and carry enough bullets/mags ... and for me you are more like NEPHEW FREEDOM ... I did not miss the Vietnam adventure by much RELOADING GEAR AND KNOWLEDGE. I learned how to shoot before puberty on a 22lr ... semi ... LONG BEFORE THE 10-22 existed ... closing THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!
Glock 45 was my first purchase and my edc then I got a marlin 795 22lr for squirrels season starts tomorrow! And on Labor Day / maybe Black Friday I’m getting a PSA ar15 Sabre in 300 BO or a 6.5 ar10 can’t decide I’ll never get any shots past 250 yards so maybe a 2k round barreled 6.5 is a bad idea and go 5.56 or 300BO? Any advice I’m in the mountains of TN and a hunter first and shtf is last thought
It’s your list, and you have your reasons, but I’m not sure the 60deg vs 90deg bolt throw is that important. A plurality of the top shooters in the Precision Rifle Series employ the Impact Precision action with a 90deg bolt throw. PRS stages are timed, so speed is very important. Those who use the Impact talk about its reliability under tough (rainy/dusty) conditions, which I would argue-in this hypothetical discussion-to be more important than a shorter bolt throw.
There's dozens of video out there about this subject and 99% have the same answer. Handgun, Shotgun, Fighting rifle, .22lr of sorts (mine is suppressed Taurus TX22), and for #5 I think it's interchangeable for your area. Downtown New York? A 6.5" 9mm AR would be way more useful than a high caliber bolt action. If you live in Kansas then yea go for a 6.5 Creedmoor. I still enjoy watching these videos none the less
I think that if going with a bolt action I would want something larger than 308. All good choices and ideas Wondering about small vs large pistol but I think possibly body armor is more important than most think... maybe even more than a pistol.
I have found it to be the best option as long as you're running the mossberg or remington 500 series for Mossberg or 870 series for remington. You can really tailor out what you want to gun to do carrying 2 spare barrels or even 1 spare barrel like you bird barrel with a 20 inch Mod Cylinder on the gun for a subsistence hunt. I can hunt everything from quail and pheasant to moose on the same trip to get more food as long as I have the right ammo. If we're in SHTF and you need that food something this small can really expand your possibilities
As I’ve aged I’ve leaned into the sustainment and long distance game. Run and gun? I can run an ar15 but running running is another story If the wheels fall off tomorrow…. Are you going to hunt? Or are going to harvest game? Hunting is a time sink with rules. Harvesting is down and dirty, I rules and it’s easier to take turkeys with trout lines and a .223 then it is to call them in. I don’t think a hunting shotgun is important Same with .22. Little critters? Traps and snares free up time…. & time is your most valuable asset/ most demanding opponent
true but I've spent plenty of time trapping the issue is always the same the amount of time required to set and maintain trap lines is insane the time suck will be almost equal then it becomes a calorie game. Honestly if the Ballon goes up tomorrow and you're depending on hunting to keep alive whether that be traps, snares, bows etc is a gamble on the best day. I still belive a shotgun is mandatory for me it's just too adaptable for situations
Alright I'm a fan of different uppers to change an AR capability. But why AK and AR? What influences you decisions? I love them both but focusing your energy on one platform over the other will give you better capability and build outs
@@unclefreedom213 I just love my AKs. I’ve been making some really outstanding loads with the hornady SST projectiles. My thought is to have at least 1 semi auto rifle that is also capable of taking down larger game with 400 meters. 300 blk is another great option for the same thing. I am in the NE and the winters can be brutal. The AK does tend to handle freezing temps a little better and the main components are easier to field strip with heavy gloves on.
Hey Uncle...you hurt my feelings on my choice of a firearm. Thank You very much as it gave me things to think about. I'll get on it after I finish this tub of ice cream. Thank you again for this series on the topic.
#1: An all metal 1911 style pistol in 9mm, the most common round for pistols! #2: An AR, AK. or Ruger mini 30. or mini 14 style semi-automatic rifle in a common rifle caliber! #3: A Shotgun in either 12 or 20 gauge! #4: A semi-auto rifle in 22LR! #5: An all metal pistol in 22LR! A minimum of 4 metal magazines to start and work your way up to 10 or more for each gun, so if you have two AR-15's, that means start with 8 and work up to 20 magazines. Make sure all of them have metal IRON sights Batteries die, and if there are no replacements, a light or optic will be useless and polymer is a plastic and it can crack in deep freezing temps and will degrade as the decades pass, an all steel gun, magazine and accessories will last hundreds of years if taken care of, and you can make replacement springs easily!.
As a huge 10/22 fan, I have to disagree that they aren’t finicky on ammo. I’ve been around several and everyone of them struggled with bulk ammo dumped loose in a container of any type (box, bucket or jar). However. You throw a KIDD bolt and spring kit in it and it will eat and spit out even the most junk ammo. I also disagree with the rotary mags. BK mags period for me.. Only thing Ruger on my 10/22 is the receiver.. Currently sitting in a Boyd’s thumb hole stock (debating dropping it in a chassis or building one more for precision over lightweight), KIDD bolt and spring kit, KIDD ultra light bull barrel that’s of course threaded for suppressor, and a 4x16x44 optic with MRAD reticle.. Stupid light rifle and is a varmit hunting machine. My friends full KIDD heavy long barrel is a tad more accurate, but a lot heavier.. Will also agree on 308 for bolt gun. I went with 308 as depending on the scenario it might be the most common larger caliber I stumble across, it can share ammo with my AR 10 chambered in 308 and was also a round I already have a lot of ammo for..
I find it simply amazing how many rounds these experts want to carry is s*** down drip down scenario. You were using your BB gun to shoot small critters to survive cuz around here somebody shooting a big gun close to my house. I'm going to go investigate and I have toys like thermal and night vision..... And I know there's a lot of other people out there with even better toys than I've got. 100 lb of salt is worth more than 10,000 rounds of ammo in that scenario. Think about it guys. This isn't really complicated. S***
A Ruger .357 with 4in barrel to carry/ hunt. Bigger barrels are better for hunting but shorter better for carrying. Rugers are proven reliable. Any proven good brand AR15 5.56. Easy to find parts and ammo. Mid size game/ aggressors. Wal Mart Remington 700. .308. Good scope (not great) easy to find ammo, military used a version of this rifle for snipers. Cheap and will be more accurate than most shooters. Hunting/sniping Your preference of .22 rifle that is reliable. Small game. A semiautomatic pistol that is known to be accurate and reliable in a common caliber you handle well. Usually something in the .38/9mm family. Primarily self defense close range. My 5 in a generalized list. 6th would be a 12Gauge no choke. All are easy to find ammo for and reloading supplies are pretty common for the calibers mentioned. Parts should be easier to acquire for name brand older models than for the latest and greatest models.
Ahh this is pretty solid and I like it. Army used the 700 action on a heavy barrel with 5R rifling but if you have the base action you could easily bed it in a better action with bottom metal and spin on a heavy contour barrel
19x doesn’t have an optic cut so you have to do it yourself. The grip on the 19x also has to be shaved because of the bottom of the grip and the way it’s designed. It’s a protective lip and the way it’s shaped, it won’t accept Glock mags that have the regular oem baseplates. The 19x mag has a different baseplate and it’s built to fit that. The Glock 45 is basically the same gun but it’s got an optic cut and it’s got more magazine compatibility. But you have to remember the Glock 19x was created to fill a very specific roll. It’s an amazing pistol.
My EDC is a Walther P99AS. It's not just as good, it's better. :) I don't care for optics on my handguns. I'm no authority on what works for you, you have to try it and decide if you like it, but I refuse to put a dot on any of my own handguns ever again. Lights are great, but for EDC the disadvantages outweigh the advantages they bring, so I accept the performance penalty. For me, shotguns in SHTF scenario have exactly one practical use, and that's anti-drone defense. I won't settle for a manual or a defensive barrel length, so my go to is a Browning Auto-5 magnum 12ga with a 28" barrel, modified or full choke, shooting a dense wad of #4 heavyweight birdshot. Ideally tungsten, but lead is fine if you can get it. Sub-MOA is an unrealistic and misunderstood expectation. I have a Mauser 98 custom that I use in NRL Hunter that gets me prize table numbers shooting a 20 round string at 1.6MOA.
So first curious as to your dislike on dots on handguns. They make marginal shooters superior and great shooters damn near a terminator. 2nd what disadvantages do you see with a pistol light, no hate but love hearing others mindsets. 3rd I woild disagree on sub MOA I've shot guns that were sub 500 bucks that could shoot sub minute with good ammo. The ability of a rifle to be sub minute accurate gives you more leeway as the shooter.
So a gun for most situations. To me this assumes mission requirements. If a true minuteman situation there will be some missions, but to ne the question is, what is the best overall. If on a hunting mission and you have your bolt gun but run into a group on a hunting mission and they decide to hunt you, you'll likely wish you had the semiauto large mag rifle. I could be wrong here but as all this is theory talk anyway, shouldn't each person consentrate on a single rifle and pistol combo for their area? I say area, because in the flatlands where trees are few and line of sight is measured in miles, a longshooter may be the best all around option. While in a more densely wood area where line of sight is measured in yards, a semi auto with low powered optic may be best all around.
SCAR 17 with Trijicon ACOGsolves all problems except small game which I won't eat. 100% reliable and 1 hit stops. Don't have to carry so much ammo because you don't have to shoot said enemy 3-4 times.
BOYS! BOYS! If SHTF and you got 1 option? RUGER - AR STYLE - 9MM PC CARBINE (16" FLUTED & THREADED BARREL) IS THE WAY TO GO! AMPLE AMMO with LARGE GLOCK MAG STICKS! Lightweight, Accurate, Higher Velocity than a Pistol, and Better Range! Also, it's good for hunting pretty much anything in the good ole USofA. Solar Charged HOLOSUN Red Dot & 3x Magnifier + Bright Light
sure if that's what you want for your fighting rifle. For me they are a no, the lack of true parts compatibility since there isn't a standard, beats up brass pretty bad(at least mine do)
I personally bounce back and forth on questioning the AR10 for a role like this. I am in my 50's and for so many years, I was against a AR10, always been a fan of good bolt rifles. It's heavy, but so are so many bolt rifles, that is the only con I see with it. Pro's? I have a S&W performance center 6.5 that is shooting
Never understood the guys that rant vehemently against a weapon light on a pistol. Makes zero sense, I don't buy the "oh well it gives them a target to shoot at" If you're that close to need a WML on your pistol, they know where you are already. Carry a damn light on your hand gun.
Enjoy the pin of shame 😂
Hey Unc. It’s nice to see how your channel has grown always very informative.
As a closeted 10/22 guy waiting patiently in the back, would love to see your setup!
Great video as always chalked full of good info... Appreciate your take on this topic
As prepared citizens, lets be sure we train with whatever tools/kit we have! Really enjoyed the video!
Enjoyed as always. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good solid list, and good video. Thank you.
I really like your videos you bridge the gap between civilians and grunts very well easy to understand. Keep up the good work!
I love how when we got to the bolt gun i was thinking the begara b14 aswell. love the video
Good basic overview and as always, fun to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it!
the ammo will be fun. I ended up doing a three tiered ammo video from ideal minimums at home to harsh reality if you bugged on foot. Then a true stock video with storage tips and ammo selection tips
@@unclefreedom213 Looking forward to it!
5 for me would be
9mm handgun (VP9, P226)
5.56 rifle (Geissle Super duty with 1-8 LPVO)
.22 (Ruger mark 4)
308 (bolt gun)
357 Revolver with moon clips for 9mm (smith and wesson)
And 20k ammo and 100 mags for each.
(With moon clips you can use 9mm)
5.56, 9mm, 22lr stock piles are easy and cheap to create.
@@dutch0770 Wouldn't a pistol caliber carbine fill a void especially a folding kind that could be easily concealed where it could be easier to be accurate than a handgun at ranges out to 100 yards ,where you might not be able to take a battle rifle?
@@bluemouse5039 a PCC is absolutely a mute point. 5.56 can do everything better than a PCC. Absolutely everything.
No reason for a shotgun ? That's nuts to say
Good video! I like your choices for the most part and most definitely your POU for them. I think your caliber choices were wise indeed.
Stay Safe out there Brother.
I do the same like the 6.5 us a fantastic round but and a big but the .308 is just stupid consistent gun to gun to the extent if you have a minimum 20 inch barrel with decent rifling and your gun doesn't shoot 175 SMKs your gun is broken. x39 has its merits but falls flat against the 5.56 there's a reasons the Russians went to 5.45
People enjoy top 5 lists. Ive made a bunch. They do really well.
I don't so many of them but I have noticed they are typically well recieved
Could a DMR build AR10 take the place of a bolt gun?
Thanks for another great video
Love the content bro
What happens when you either run out of ammunition or it becomes unserviceable and you weapon gets too worn out to use?
That's a lot of action to survive through... imagine how many gun fights you'd be in to get through 1k rounds an most people have more than that.
I always have backup iron sites on everything. How long your batteries going to last? Ain't going to Walmart for more when it goes down.
Whats the differences on the pre covid lowers?
My 5 guns for shtf is 5.56 and 300blk, s&w 40cal and Taurus g3c, 22wmr or 22lr
Been looking forward to this 1
The ammo ones were a lot of fun to make that are about to be released
Could a mag 22 be a fighting rifle?
@petersogono6612 no the biggest issue there isn't the ballistics though it's short there too it's the reliability of rimfire ammunition
Just my opinion. SHTF, I'm going in the woods with a revolver and lever gun that use the same ammo. 45 lc, 357 or 44 mag.
Lever action guns are awesome!
Lever guns are a pain in the ass to disassemble and clean. They usually need tools to take apart. You can pop a AR open and clean it in thr field.
Why do you not consider Beretta to be reliable? You never mention that brand as being reliable
In order of importance:
1. Glock 19
2. Ruger AR556 (just a basic AR)
3. Remington 870
4. Ruger 10/22
5. Sone sort of suppressed bolt action rifle
(I have 1-4 so far, still working on figuring out #5)
A 105 howitzer, a 20mm Vulcan, a quad 50, a WW2 type stinger machine gun, and 500 RPGs, and 1 bonus an AK 47 with at least 100 fully loaded magazines
I need your supply chain
Video idea , ak? Your thoughts and views on them
Yep it's coming along with a ammo video for the AK both 5.45 and 7.62
I got a mossberg 7mm 08 and i frickin love that rifle.
Glock G45 Gen 5 the best handgun in the market hands down 🇺🇸
I'm a big fan.
I heard people were bagging deer with 9mm with a 16 inch barrel. I'm curious about how you feel about a 16 inch barrel with 9mm suppressed.
@Railroads-can-be-dangerous with the right load so bonded hollowpoint or even a 147gr xtp it's viable. I mean if you think about it 350 legend is a 9mm projo
1. Bolt action hunting rifle such as a tikka in 308
2. 12 gauge shotgun (3 flavors of ammo and everything in North america is now prey)
3. Pistol small enough to conceal but big enough to fight with.
4. Some fighting rifle, m1 grand, ar15, Ak47, mini 14, lever action upgraded
Springfield Echelon carry pistol, AR Pistol (556) for semi, and pump shotgun with plenty of ammo in a backpack
Thanks!
For Ruger 10/22 would you do takedown or a regular rifle?
I'm not a fan of the takedown they're cool just not my cup of coffee
I own a takedown 10/22, and have shot the "regular" 10/22. I LOVE to takedown. It is surprisingly accurate, it comes in a cool backpack. If you have the $$$, I would personally get the takedown, the way it "breaks down" and fits in a small backpack is so cool IMO.
This dude would hate my peasant list but everything goes bang when I pull the trigger and I hit my target. I do agree with his mags though.
1. Taurus gx4 carry
2. Taurus gx4
3. maverick 88 security
4. Psa15 in 5.56 with magpul furniture
5. Marlin model 60 in .22lr
6 mossberg mvp scout in .308
no 3 and 6 are both solid as hell. no4 I would look into an upgraded BCG from microbest, and for me ambi charging handle and trigger.
3. Is solid and many have withstood the test of time

Great vid buddy I 100% agree
minuteman cop is a wild combination, who do y'all think that minutemen would mostly be standing against?
no cop I know is a fan of what the country is devolving into, constitutionally minded le is the best asset the modern Minutemen could hope for.
I'd definitely be able to see how rural police, working in the same community where they live (and may well have grown up in) would take a very different approach than municipal departments psyching themselves up at the start of every shift for a war of occupation against citizens who they don't know and ultimately couldn't give less of a shit about.

i got a 14.5 LMT with a surefire 3 prong. feel pretty set with that
I woild agree LMT is pure sex appeal
That Hogue overmolded stock for the 10/22 is *HEAVY*. Otherwise nice, but I found it to be a poor choice due to how much heavier it made the gun.
it is indeed heavy but I typically have a bull barrel so the weight there isn't an issue for me. If I needed a handier rifle synthetic thumb hole stock with standard profile barrel and a 2-7 or 1-8
What about 12 gauge shotgun Hybrid pump -auto?
shotgun, light rifle, bigger rifle, pocket sized hand gun, holster sized hand gun AND 22cal critter gun uhhh that's six ... for the bigger gun the right ADJUSTABLE gas block makes a semi- into a bolt action selectively OH YEAH ... LOTS A BULLETS and carry enough bullets/mags ... and for me you are more like NEPHEW FREEDOM ... I did not miss the Vietnam adventure by much RELOADING GEAR AND KNOWLEDGE. Is your Glock 45 the one with the slide milled for the Aimpoint, and if so are you considering making a video for it?
yes it's direct milled and yeah I will do a video detailing it
Is a 22lr rifle and 45 1911 pistol adequate for shtf
I could do without the 22 rifle probably but not a bad list even if I would change the order of importance a little bit.
What is your stat only allows 10 round mags 🙃😭
My biggest 2 questions how much would all those mags and ammo weigh and r u saying carry all those types of rifles thats alot to carry
Also loved the video and fully agree on most of it
So ar mags about a pound each 1000 rounds of 5.56 about 46 pounds this pack would be close to 80 pounds but majority of ammo is on person not in pack
I think that if going with a bolt action I would want something larger than 308. All good choices and ideas
Wondering about small vs large pistol but I think possibly body armor is more important than most think... maybe even more than a pistol.

@@unclefreedom213 fascinating!
Ready for the ammo video
As I’ve aged I’ve leaned into the sustainment and long distance game. Run and gun? I can run an ar15 but running running is another story
If the wheels fall off tomorrow…. Are you going to hunt? Or are going to harvest game? Hunting is a time sink with rules. Harvesting is down and dirty, I rules and it’s easier to take turkeys with trout lines and a .223 then it is to call them in. I don’t think a hunting shotgun is important
Same with .22.
Glock 19, AR15 with 18” upper and 14.5 upper, AKM, shotgun, and bolt gun
Interesting thought process. I have found the lube makes a huge difference for NE winters The Cherrybalmz Black Rifle balm to be amazing
Make sure all of them have metal IRON sights
Batteries die, and if there are no replacements, a light or optic will be useless and polymer is a plastic and it can crack in deep freezing temps and will degrade as the decades pass, an all steel gun, magazine and accessories will last hundreds of years if taken care of, and you can make replacement springs easily!.
Great video like always thank you & God bless 🫡🇺🇸
Thanks, you too!
I went with 308 as depending on the scenario it might be the most common larger caliber I stumble across, it can share ammo with my AR 10 chambered in 308 and was also a round I already have a lot of ammo for..
nailed it
I find it simply amazing how many rounds these experts want to carry is s*** down drip down scenario. S***
M&p boys ain’t getting no love out here 😂
If I could only have1 firearm, it would be the G45 MOS. Thanks for the confirmation bias. :-)
Yep, Glock gen1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
Better have a bunch of batteries for that eotech
Didnt you make a video saying you would abandon 90% of your arsenal and run off if anything happens?
I have a hkp2000
You hit the nail on the head, about why anyone can’t shoot sub moa! Lol
Hunting/sniping
Your preference of .22 rifle that is reliable.
M&p is a pretty good handgun.
indeed they are ibhave a couple and I trust them just a lot more time on Glocks recently my fav is still the CZ p09, p01,p07 family
Why do you choose the Glock 45 over the Glock 19 X ?
Don’t think the 19x has a mos version, also don’t think the will take other Glock mags due to the frame
There is a version of the 45 that is direct milled for the ACRO from the factory, doesn’t use any plates.
Which one is more reliable and why?
I am not a Glock fan but, I did see a video someone did at shot show, Glocks latest "innovation" as they call it, is a MOS version of the 19X
My EDC is a Walther P99AS.
It's not just as good, it's better. :)
I don't care for optics on my handguns.
No AR10?
sure if that's what you want for your fighting rifle.
