Actually it does not. Its ability is Desolate Land, which means that it summons a weather condition (in this case extremely harsh sunlight) that evaporates all water and nullifies all water type attacks. If the weather condition was to be removed, even if Primal Groudon still remains on the field, then water type moves will work normally and Primal Groudon would be affected. That wraps it up for defense. As far as offense is concerned, the moves highlighted in mysticumbreon's video do not provide a wide cover nor is it a diverse moveset. That's why you would be better off with Solarbeam to destroy both water and ground types more easily. Mystic: you can use swarm on volcarona but I don't think it will fall under that 1/3 hp mark Also mystic: we're gonna give volcarona a focus sash so it can not get one shot while quiver dancing
I would've had Chandelure with Hex, Shadow Ball, Inferno, and Telekinesis. Seriously it's pretty OP, plus Chandelure's one of my favorite Gen 5 Pokemon
One nitpick from these videos = when you factor in stab, items, etc, the power of a move is no longer its BASE power. That's the point of the word "base". Also: "I didn't give Volcarona Swarm because I have so much faith it will not fall below 1/3rd hp. Also I gave it a focus sash to guarantee it will always live a turn with 1 hp after quiver dance".
I support this whole team. I would EASILY use all these mons in a monotype run. I LOVE Fire types. Actually I would use Chandelure for my 5th team member than use Entei, but I agree with Groudon as the 6th.
mega charizard x is great and all , but mega charizard y is a bit better in competitive because of that 159 sp attack and that godly ability drought . yu can sweep almost any team with STAB sunboosted fireblast and solar beam for coverage
@@sepulvedaemannuel6405 I'm not saying infernape is bad, I'm just saying that if this is a competitive team than why not use the best non legendary fire type in the game?

In black and white blaziken sucks because it doesn't have speed boost infernape in the best fire starter but introducing megas and hidden ability it became the 3 after charizards and the chicken
The set on Volcarona is nice, but I hope you understand that now the Bug team has to work without the type's best special attacker and can compensate for that in some other way.
@@winter9242 Not really. It's far too slow and would likely need a dedicated trick room team to function, and there aren't any Bug-types that learn the move except Arceus-Bug. It's also far less durable than Volcarona, going down in no time while the moth can and does function very well with a bulkier build.
@@winter9242 It can't, unfortunately. Quiver Dance is only learned by butterflies and moths, with the exception of Ribombee (bee fly) and Pheromosa (cockroach). Vikavolt is a beetle, so I guess Game Freak at least put some form of logic into that decision?
I was wondering Mysticumbreon what new TMs you think would be in Sword and Shield? From what you’ve seen of the previous TMs what do you think would be the best?
How to build a competetive team : stick all EVs into the 2 highest stats and do NOT run the calcs for major threads in the tier to make it an actual EV spread :) AND play max attack Infernape with 0 attack IVs
Fire absolutely needs hazard removal, I'd add torkoal for bulkyness, rapid spin, and eatra sun. Then I'd add rotom wash for special bulk, defog, and volt switch.
Instead of Bug Buzz for Volcarona, I’d give it Hidden Power Ice. It covers against Ground types, Flying Types, and the all powerful Dragon types. Although it doesn’t have STAB, I don’t think it’d matter with having Quiver Dance set up.
For my fire team, I replace darm for Torkoal making it a rock lead with yawn and lava plume with an explosion just in case. And Zard y for Zard X, tough claws d dance boosted DClaw is no joke, and roost is great back up. Only really fearing The Azurill line

Alright, question for everyone. if you were a Fire type Gym leader. What would your team be? Now I have some rules. 1. You can have 1 ACE pokemon. 2. No legendaries allowed (It's a gym) 3. You may have 1 starter on your team beside your ace. (Example being, You can have Charizard Y as your ace, and Infernape on your team.) 4. Must have a signature move you use, when a trainer beats you, you give them that TM. (Such as Fire blast, or Overheat) 5. You are not allowed any items, BUT you can use IV's and natures that help your pokemon. 6. This is meant to be a challange for any pokemon trainer. You are the 8th and strongest gym of your region. 7. Speaking of Region, Where is your gym located and who are you taking over from? 8. No you cannot be apart of the elite 4. Rules are set. GO!
That team was amazing. I wonder what the next best type team will be done? Grass, rock, ghost? If rock or bug, Shuckle would be a part of my team, just because of it overpowered defense and special defense. But if I had to give it a moveset, I would give it Rock Slide and Bug Bite for Stab moves, Power Trick as to swap the attack and defense, and Gyro Ball or Earthquake for coverage.
I know most people like mega charizard Xs appearance more but damn I think Y looks amazing it’s sleeker and has way cooler wings and head. The only part of Xs design I like more is the color scheme and the flames from the mouth.
So for the water team Swampert is the obvious mega choice. Hammer arm Earthquake Waterfall for that SWEET physical attack stat and Icebeam for coverage(grass)
Surprised Victini didn't make the list. V-Create is probably the best Fire type move, combined with Firium Z makes a great bomb nuke, plus it has near perfect coverage. Also it has 100 base stats overall.
I should add arcanine instead of darmanian because of type coverige and overall better stats. Also would switch Infernape for Blaziken. I think Blaziken has a better stat with speed boost+flying type attacks. But the last one can go either way
Infernape has a larger movepool and have over than 10 sets to use blaziken is the most predictable starter It always has protect which is just an easy set up for the opponent It is easy to counter As for infernape it is way faster without any boost if you use choice band on it you can demolish everything the opponent is forced to sacrifice at least 2 pokemon against it
Man, I don't really like using legendary Pokemon, so this list was little help to me. It's just so obvious how strong they are and I always feel cheap using them. I would be curious to see who he would swap in if he wasn't allowed to use them.
I would give Entei Solarbeam instead of Stone Edge. Solarbeam gives you coverage against Water, Ground, and Rock types and becomes a 1-turn attack when the sun is out from your Mega Charizard's Drought ability. Otherwise an awesome team!
You have a few hard-hitters on the team, and theres bithibg wrobg with that, but i think a defensive pokemon would have been a better choice. Dont know which pokemon id switch out for which pokemon, but yeah
I hope pokemon makes the starters different types in the future, theres a 1/3 chance I dont get to experience s lot of great fire types or they come too late in the game. Plus many games don't give you a good diversity of fire types
i would recommend hone claws instead of swords dance while it isn't as good as swords dance I think raising its accuracy is better so precipice blades wont miss often
I had a charizard and infernape and volcrona built amlost exactly the same back when X any Y was out and damn did they destroy. The rest of the team was Archanine, fire Rotom and houndoom. Houndoom came out first to stop berry use, switched for archanine, if charm-y dies houndoom also had solarbeam to continue the sweep with sunny day

I would've had Chandelure with Hex, Shadow Ball, Inferno, and Telekinesis. Seriously it's pretty OP, plus Chandelure's one of my favorite Gen 5 Pokemon
I remember my chandelure one shotting everything it sees with that insanely high spl att
Telekinesis affects accuracy, which I believe is not allowed in competitive matches, right? Could be wrong.
Inferno sucks
@@azelfdaboi5265 To use due to 50% accuracy or to be hit by and be burned?
@@davideostudio2664 50%
One nitpick from these videos = when you factor in stab, items, etc, the power of a move is no longer its BASE power. That's the point of the word "base".
Also:
"I didn't give Volcarona Swarm because I have so much faith it will not fall below 1/3rd hp. Also I gave it a focus sash to guarantee it will always live a turn with 1 hp after quiver dance".
i like mystic but he really is not great at competetive (^_^)
I support this whole team. I would EASILY use all these mons in a monotype run. I LOVE Fire types. Actually I would use Chandelure for my 5th team member than use Entei, but I agree with Groudon as the 6th.
1:34 NOOOOOOOOO MYSTIC!!!!!!!
PLEASE SAY THIS IS LIE!!
PLEEEEEAAASE😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Why bro
Cuz I thought he would include mega charizard x instead of y😭😭😭
mega charizard x is great and all , but mega charizard y is a bit better in competitive because of that 159 sp attack and that godly ability drought . yu can sweep almost any team with STAB sunboosted fireblast and solar beam for coverage
How is infernape better than blaziken if blaziken is in ubers, while infernape is in underused?
@@sepulvedaemannuel6405 I'm not saying infernape is bad, I'm just saying that if this is a competitive team than why not use the best non legendary fire type in the game?
Well most likely see blaziken in fighting type team as the mega
I think blaziken is outclassed by infernape (unless speed boost), and he already put in a mega
I also think that he just uses blaziken for baton passes, unsure about this
In black and white blaziken sucks because it doesn't have speed boost infernape in the best fire starter but introducing megas and hidden ability it became the 3 after charizards and the chicken
@@AG-it4im I hope you're right, considering fire is my favorite type and blaziken is my favorite pokemon
The set on Volcarona is nice, but I hope you understand that now the Bug team has to work without the type's best special attacker and can compensate for that in some other way.
Vikavolt can be a good replacement though as a special attacker
@@winter9242 Not really. It's far too slow and would likely need a dedicated trick room team to function, and there aren't any Bug-types that learn the move except Arceus-Bug. It's also far less durable than Volcarona, going down in no time while the moth can and does function very well with a bulkier build.
@@cooldude6269 yeah plus vikavolt doesnt have access to recovery moves. If it can learn quiver dance then it can be a good replacement for volcarona
Me:unwittingly takes a drink of water. Mystic: stay hydrated. Me: coughs and now is soaked as if I used water gun on myself....
you hurt yourself in confusion.
I love these videos! Pls make more best teams! I use them all the time on Pokemon showdown ubers
I love this team! You can always change Entei with a Reshiram or Heatran to have better stab moves I think.. 🤔😁👍 Great video Mystic!
Mega blaziken for best figting team, confirmed xD
I was wondering Mysticumbreon what new TMs you think would be in Sword and Shield? From what you’ve seen of the previous TMs what do you think would be the best?
He who lives with glass cannons shouldn't face stones...
How to build a competetive team : stick all EVs into the 2 highest stats and do NOT run the calcs for major threads in the tier to make it an actual EV spread
:)
AND play max attack Infernape with 0 attack IVs
that shade at typhlosion
Should’ve put nine tails or torcoal for sun team to power up fire attacks
Tyranitar
Sees an mega charizard y *panik
Its 4x week to rock *calm
It has solar beam*panik
Or any rock water type
Fire absolutely needs hazard removal, I'd add torkoal for bulkyness, rapid spin, and eatra sun. Then I'd add rotom wash for special bulk, defog, and volt switch.
You really look at it from so many different angles, nice
You have focus sash and won't use swarm? That's the perfect setup
Azurill: *exists*
Mega Zard X: *screaming*

3:16 why does it say 200 base power?
Because Solar Beam had 200 base power in Lets go.
Thanks mystic for the fire type team. It is raining here and I was freezing but thanks to you I got a little bit heat.
I'm shocked that Chandlure wasn't on this team! When playing any Unova game, the only reason I don't use sheer force Darmanitan is because Chandelure exists! Is it on the best ghost team? That's the only reason I can see why it wouldn't be here lmao
Nice Godzilla reference Mystic, i love it
I'm surprised Volcanion wasn't on this list. It's typing is pretty strong.
He is slow and not that tanky
Could be on the water type team
@@Anti-zioni that's false
you're sleeping on Arcanine kid, also i love how gamefreak totally took a shit on Arcanine with Entei and Moltes with Ho_Oh
Alright, question for everyone. if you were a Fire type Gym leader. What would your team be? Now I have some rules.
1. You can have 1 ACE pokemon.
2. No legendaries allowed (It's a gym)
3. You may have 1 starter on your team beside your ace. (Example being, You can have Charizard Y as your ace, and Infernape on your team.)
4. Must have a signature move you use, when a trainer beats you, you give them that TM. (Such as Fire blast, or Overheat)
GO!
great team, only thing to look out for is trick room
Infernape should get a gmax form as well I as torteira, empoleon, luxray, roserade, floatzel, mismagius, drapion and staraptor in the sinnoh remakes
I live in Miami it is always summer here
That team was amazing.
Me: Why Charizard Y?
Explanation
Me: Well I guess that makes sense.
what is the point of this comment
Y is better vs all other pokemon, X is only better vs Y. Obviously ill take Y anyday
@@lawrencechen8950 Just for some silliness. Thats all.
@@SamC77 Thats good. But I'm the opposite. I will take X anyday.
Y increases special attack which will help Charizard of its fire moves (cool shiny)
X just has good design (Bad shiny)
I know most people like mega charizard Xs appearance more but damn I think Y looks amazing it’s sleeker and has way cooler wings and head. The only part of Xs design I like more is the color scheme and the flames from the mouth.
So for the water team Swampert is the obvious mega choice. Hammer arm Earthquake Waterfall for that SWEET physical attack stat and Icebeam for coverage(grass)
Thank you so much Groudon is my favorite Pokémon
Came at the right time just when I was going to make a mono type team
Finally the fire type team has arrived!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Good video but Torkoal with rapid spud would’ve been good for those stealth rocks
For my charzard I did a combo of using smokescreen for at the minimum of 2 turns. Then focus punch.
Surprised Victini didn't make the list. V-Create is probably the best Fire type move, combined with Firium Z makes a great bomb nuke, plus it has near perfect coverage. Also it has 100 base stats overall.
Yeah, it has crippling side effects though.
Awesome! By the way, when will you start the videos for Best Teams for Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon?
I should add arcanine instead of darmanian because of type coverige and overall better stats. Also would switch Infernape for Blaziken. I think Blaziken has a better stat with speed boost+flying type attacks. But the last one can go either way
Infernape has a larger movepool and have over than 10 sets to use
blaziken is the most predictable starter
It always has protect which is just an easy set up for the opponent
It is easy to counter
As for infernape it is way faster without any boost if you use choice band on it you can demolish everything the opponent is forced to sacrifice at least 2 pokemon against it
Man, I don't really like using legendary Pokemon, so this list was little help to me. It's just so obvious how strong they are and I always feel cheap using them. I would be curious to see who he would swap in if he wasn't allowed to use them.
With drought, charizard took away a lot of experience points from my water killers
Why no Mix Ape? Infernape has a pretty good special movepool as well
I'm glad someone else likes Mega Charizard Y. Solar beam is such good coverage with Drought that X just doesn't have.
Thunder punch
I was just watching an video of Mystic ;-;
Btw cool video
Fire type is my favourite, so I was excited about this!!!👏
Fire blast overheat blastburn flareblitz

Use Swords Dance instead of Power-Up Punch. Also I prefer Life Orb on Infernape.
Life orb on a pokemon that doesnt have sheer force? Suicide...
@@wildresin6292 no, Life Orb is much better. Your going to outspeedand kill them, so they cant hit you, so you only loose a bit of HP each turn
@@someguy86 i do not accept hurting my own pokemon there are other means to achieve victory
@@wildresin6292 Fair enough. Flare Blitz is better, but if thats your playstyle, then sure.
@@someguy86 yeah i agree with.infernape isnt bulky enough to take hits and its best to dish out maximum damage before fainting
Charizard is my most favourite pokemon(sorry typhlosion).
That means you're basic
I would give Entei Solarbeam instead of Stone Edge. Solarbeam gives you coverage against Water, Ground, and Rock types and becomes a 1-turn attack when the sun is out from your Mega Charizard's Drought ability. Otherwise an awesome team!
As a kid before my very big pokemon random i used to call POKEMON! PIKACHU!
Embersing
My number one favorite Pokémon type
Actually Blaziken is better than Infernape if it has speed boost. :P But solid video overall.
Wheres blaziken
3:59 my boy No Way Jose getting more screen time here than on RAW.
How are you changing EVs?? And where !?
How dare you
Never speak to me or my son, Typhlosion, again

I couldn’t wait for this one
When are Galar Pokémon joining your roster?
I had a charizard and infernape and volcrona built amlost exactly the same back when X any Y was out and damn did they destroy. The rest of the team was Archanine, fire Rotom and houndoom. Houndoom came out first to stop berry use, switched for archanine, if charm-y dies houndoom also had solarbeam to continue the sweep with sunny day
