As a clinician her behaviors are VERY in line with BPD. People with BPD really have an inflated opinion of others. Also with BPD when it comes to therapy they can be inconsistent or switch therapist a lot especially when the therapist challenges or disagrees with them.

But I also kind of agree with you and your friend - if ALR isn't concerned, and blaming everyone else, then maybe let her reap what she sows. I don't think people _deserve_ hurt but she needs a BIG wake up call, or to be honest with herself and just do the lifestyle and expect the shortened life. My thing on the whole "she's not dating me for money, she bought everything for me on our date" is that just because you buy stuff for someone clearly outside your tax bracket doesn't *mean* you didn't target them for money. Honestly it's a pretty clever tactic to act like that's not what it's about, buy gifts for them, always insist you don't need anything, because someone who isn't selfish (or at the very least has attachment issues) is going to feel *obligated* to pay it back, or 'show affection' monetarily sometimes even in a bigger way than they did. It's actually part of psychology. Gift giving or kindness that is unconditional is much more likely to make a person want to do things for you, because you are perceived as a kind person who wants for nothing, thus deserves *everything.* I'm not saying she was or wasn't dating her for money, because frankly I don't care. But ALR claiming that because she bought stuff for her, there's no way she could be after money *after one date* is wild to me. Buying everything on a single date is not a lot to go on, and like she said, Tommy has a job, so it's not like it would have broke the bank to do it once or twice if she perceived it as a long term investment. My bday was on the 25th, so my mom was visiting (we live on opposite sides of the country, so we usually only see each other once or twice a year) and i was constantly checking my phone and completely mentally consumed by this whole thing. I went from absolutely terrified for amberlynn, to confused, to sad, and disappointed. This whole thing has just been so so dark. Ive lost 5 family members to type 2 diabetes and other obesity related issues, so this whole thing has just been a lot. This is way darker than anything else ive experienced in real time in gorl world. I found the community when Beck brokeup with alr, so i havent been around for the more serious stuff, and all this has been a lot.

i'm sorry for your loss! 😢 but i know exactly what you mean ... my mom only recently started to seriously see another man after my stepdad passed nearly 3 years ago, and it was a long slow awful period of his decline so they both knew he was gonna pass a few years before it happened ... even with all that time beforehand to grieve, him insisting he wanted her to move on and love again after he was gone like to the point he begged her to promise she wouldn't just isolate & shut herself away for 2,3,5,10 years because she would feel guilty & like she was betraying him by moving on. he called it tho, even with his blessing and her promise that she wouldn't sit in the house depressed, missing him too much to have any sort of life after she still struggled to even begin the process of talking to someone else. we were all devastated by the loss, i can't even begin to imagine how it was for her as he was such an amazing man (basically took over as my father when our dad walked out for a younger woman when i was a kid) and they were truly soulmates 😭💔 but yes, despite all the time before he passed that they knew it was coming, and the years that have passed since, and his wish for her to move on, she still grapples with it & feels guilty. i feel so terrible that we aren't able to help, it's just how it is if you truly loved someone and have any amount of empathy, you're going to feel guilty for moving on for years and most good souls won't even _think_ about trying to move on for years. & ofc life and love happen and sometimes grieving spouses will meet someone they connect with before years have passed but they sure as hell don't jump the bones of that person immediately after their partner passed or idk at the VERY LEAST if they do feel so compelled by love so quickly after their fiancée just passed they would surely feel guilty about it and not post pictures publicly with their new "love" (in alr & tommy's case i think quotation is appropriate there 😂) all happy without a care in the word, no guilt in sight! it's wild, i really cannot wrap my head around a persons ability to "fall in love" again so quickly .... Not defending Amberlynn in regards to her one month relationship, just providing some insight as a person that also has BPD/EUPD! It's not uncommon for us to fall for people very hard very fast, and we get very attached, at times to the point of being unhealthily dependent on the person. I've been in a relationship for a decade, and when I first started seeing my boyfriend, I was deeply mentally unwell - hadn't found the right therapist or medication at that point - and told him I was in love with him mere days after we got together (thankfully, despite the immense highs and lows, I'm a lot more stable, and he's been immensely patient and supportive through it all). Those of us with BPD/EUPD can have the wildest mood swings, and go from adoring someone with all our heart to feeling like we despise them.

My thing on the whole "she's not dating me for money, she bought everything for me on our date" is that just because you buy stuff for someone clearly outside your tax bracket doesn't *mean* you didn't target them for money. Honestly it's a pretty clever tactic to act like that's not what it's about, buy gifts for them, always insist you don't need anything, because someone who isn't selfish (or at the very least has attachment issues) is going to feel *obligated* to pay it back, or 'show affection' monetarily sometimes even in a bigger way than they did. It's actually part of psychology. Gift giving or kindness that is unconditional is much more likely to make a person want to do things for you, because you are perceived as a kind person who wants for nothing, thus deserves *everything.*
I'm not saying she was or wasn't dating her for money, because frankly I don't care. But ALR claiming that because she bought stuff for her, there's no way she could be after money *after one date* is wild to me. Buying everything on a single date is not a lot to go on, and like she said, Tommy has a job, so it's not like it would have broke the bank to do it once or twice if she perceived it as a long term investment. Again, not making accusations, just saying that the overall willingness to trust, never question someone's odd kindness that goes against the grain, etc, is so jarring.

My bday was on the 25th, so my mom was visiting (we live on opposite sides of the country, so we usually only see each other once or twice a year) and i was constantly checking my phone and completely mentally consumed by this whole thing. I went from absolutely terrified for amberlynn, to confused, to sad, and disappointed. This whole thing has just been so so dark. Ive lost 5 family members to type 2 diabetes and other obesity related issues, so this whole thing has just been a lot. This is way darker than anything else ive experienced in real time in gorl world. I found the community when Beck brokeup with alr, so i havent been around for the more serious stuff, and all this has been a lot.

i'm sorry for your loss! 😢 but i know exactly what you mean ... my mom only recently started to seriously see another man after my stepdad passed nearly 3 years ago, and it was a long slow awful period of his decline so they both knew he was gonna pass a few years before it happened ... even with all that time beforehand to grieve, him insisting he wanted her to move on and love again after he was gone like to the point he begged her to promise she wouldn't just isolate & shut herself away for 2,3,5,10 years because she would feel guilty & like she was betraying him by moving on. he called it tho, even with his blessing and her promise that she wouldn't sit in the house depressed, missing him too much to have any sort of life after she still struggled to even begin the process of talking to someone else. we were all devastated by the loss, i can't even begin to imagine how it was for her as he was such an amazing man (basically took over as my father when our dad walked out for a younger woman when i was a kid) and they were truly soulmates 😭💔 but yes, despite all the time before he passed that they knew it was coming, and the years that have passed since, and his wish for her to move on, she still grapples with it & feels guilty. i feel so terrible that we aren't able to help, it's just how it is if you truly loved someone and have any amount of empathy, you're going to feel guilty for moving on for years and most good souls won't even _think_ about trying to move on for years. & ofc life and love happen and sometimes grieving spouses will meet someone they connect with before years have passed but they sure as hell don't jump the bones of that person immediately after their partner passed or idk at the VERY LEAST if they do feel so compelled by love so quickly after their fiancée just passed they would surely feel guilty about it and not post pictures publicly with their new "love" (in alr & tommy's case i think quotation is appropriate there 😂) all happy without a care in the word, no guilt in sight! it's wild, i really cannot wrap my head around a persons ability to "fall in love" again so quickly .... (for BOTH of them tbh 🤢)
Not defending Amberlynn in regards to her one month relationship, just providing some insight as a person that also has BPD/EUPD!
It's not uncommon for us to fall for people very hard very fast, and we get very attached, at times to the point of being unhealthily dependent on the person. I've been in a relationship for a decade, and when I first started seeing my boyfriend, I was deeply mentally unwell - hadn't found the right therapist or medication at that point - and told him I was in love with him mere days after we got together (thankfully, despite the immense highs and lows, I'm a lot more stable, and he's been immensely patient and supportive through it all). Those of us with BPD/EUPD can have the wildest mood swings, and go from adoring someone with all our heart to feeling like we despise them.
I just know you felt so behind’ 😂 I’m glad to hear your thoughts finally!
