- Miriam Peretz is an Israeli educator and public speaker.
After the deaths of two of her sons during their service in the Israel Defense Forces, Peretz became a lecturer on Zionism and living with loss. She was the recipient of the Israel Prize in 2018, for lifetime achievement.
In May 2021, Peretz announced that she would run for President of Israel in the 2021 election as an Independent candidate. She ended up losing the election to Isaac Herzog.

Could you say any word about the fact that the Israeli government planned to destroy 1/4 of the armenian/ christian neighborhood of Jerusalem to build a hotel ? Did you ever did any research about the situation of christians in Israel ? The majority of christians are arabs with palestinian ancestors and they are discriminated. On wednesday 4 january 2023, 30 tombs were vandalised in the christian cimetery of Jerusalem by zionists. The priest Nikodemus Schnabel was attaked by zionist on sunday 4 fabruary 2024. On october 2023, a video also became viral, were we see ultra orthodox spitting on christian pilgrims in East Jerusalem.
"We are not afraid, but we are worried. Worried because some members of the coalition are very openly opposed to anything that is not Jewish and make very racist comments. This is increasingly undermining the structure of our society, which is a multi-religious and multi-ethnic society", said Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the archbishop of Jerusalem. And with the far right in power, christians as muslims in Israel are more and more discriminated.
So you Christians are going against the very thinking of your Christian brothers and sisters in Israel and Palestine. They are suffering increasing discrimination at the hands of the Israelis, and you continue to support the executioner of the Muslim and Christian minorities?

I think about Noa and her mother every day, and although I only saw her and her Mom on video, I witnessed the extreme suffering of this beautiful girl and know that she died horribly in captivity. I think of her Mom, who had cancer, and wonder if she is still alive . Two beautiful souls that I pray for every day and will keep in my heart until my last day. 🇺🇸. 🇮🇱♥️🇮🇱

The Haredim are a small community under a lot of pressure and responsibilities. The way i see it, it is unreasonable to ask them to keep on taking responsibilities they cannot afford because of lack of resources.
Also the haredi culture is radically different from secular culture, and it can really come off the wrong way because of ignorance.
The Haredim will not stop keeping torah because others find it convenient, thus the only solution is for widespread and mainstream education of halacha by every torah observant jew to his secular brother. Maybe create something like halacha bites.
The seculars need to respect Judaism, because that's the only thing they've got. The world will never accept a jew because he is secular.
