I’m a huge Star Wars fan and was so excited when I saw the trailer for this pack. One of the only packs I ever bought full price. It gets repetitive, that’s true, and Batuu just being a replica of Disney land with a lot of empty shells was kinda disappointing. But I still play it at least once a year and always have fun while doing it. I do disable needs decay while in Batuu because taking care of my sim really gets in the way. I also occasionally do Star Wars themed builds (which I also did before the pack came out but that was way harder) and it’s perfect for that. Lightsabers and droids make my nerd heart beat faster. I understand why many people dislike it, but I’m always annoyed by people saying it’s the worst pack ever and should go burn in hell or something instead of admitting it’s just not meant for them. And I haven’t had any bugs or glitches with the pack ever, so it can’t be the worst pack of all time - at least it’s playable!
As a Star Wars person, a little part of me died when she said “The red is good for Stanley because it looks like ketchup.” The rest was laughing so hard I could barely breathe. I loved this video so much. Maybe the pack’s content isn’t the most interesting, but Kayla makes this video worth watching.
The holo table mission can be done, but even if you know how it works, it can be hard. Basically, I use a lot of distractions (leading the sims around it away by forming a group, using a droid as a distraction). I still always need at least two attempts, but it works!
My biggest qualm with this pack, coming from a Star Wars fan, is that the CAS options contain almost exclusively actual characters' hair & clothing. I don't want to have Rey's exact hairstyle, I want to make my own unique character!!
I never expected it to be a Star wars game, and I like the pack. For me, it is a place where my sims can go on a exotic vacation and role play. It is a amusement park for them. This fits very well into my stories. I am surprised that anyone expected this to be a full on Star Wars game.
I think the coolest part of this pack is the world looks exactly like Batuu in Disney's Hollywood Studios. It's really cool to see it in a game and then be able to go there irl. Other than that, even as a Star Wars fan myself, I don't use a lot of this pack in the Sims because it's not the gameplay I'm looking for in the Sims.
Stanley without his hot dog suit always gives me a jump scare, especially when he showers in the rain. I see his face for a few seconds and go, “That’s what he looks like? He’s surprisingly handsome.”
I worked at docking bay 7 at Disney world for about a year so I find this pack really interesting bc the outfits the pack comes with is literally our costumes and the world layout is pretty much the same
The funniest part is that I'm following multiple sims youtubers and since this pack has been released I've never seen anyone finish a path completely and see what else this pack might have to offer, it's just so boring LOL I think the biggest demise of this pack was when it came out. If it came out now when we have some better options in the game AND we got all the packs we've been asking for, it would've been better received I think.
It's always so funny when people say the batuu build mode is too niche to use--because I use the decor and clutter items SO MUCH. The lights, the vases, the bug bite spray, the weird circle decoration thing, the wall vents, the holocrons, the little wooden statues, the plants, and OH the hanging herbs my beloved
I've really enjoyed the Star Wars pack and since the times I've gone I've only had a couple in-game days to devote to it I barely scratched the surface of the gameplay for 2 factions. I think if you buy the pack and use it as a vacation world, as intended, it holds up. I feel like you'd run out of things to do quicker in Salvadora if you tried to speed run it (and yet I also love Jungle Adventure). Though of course JA has more versatile CAS and Build/Buy.
I love this pack but only because I’m a star wars fan if I wasn’t I would call it terrible all the time (edit: it’s also the fact that the scoundrels don’t exist it’s just an insult Leia uses to annoy Han they are called smugglers.)
I like Journey to Batuu... and the build and buy is gorgeous... I use this pack a lot more than I realize. And it has no bugs. I'm a builder not really interested in family stuff 😅
Oh, I remember with Batuu when my sim was there for weeks on end to get all Star Wars skills maxed I didn't pay much attention to his Shrewd reward trait which kept piling up. When he got home he has his money maxed out. XD
As a Star Wars superfan this pack is… fine. Some of the details annoy me (being able to buy a kalikori or a Jedi or Sith holocron in a random shop, how easy it is to get and learn to use a lightsaber), and the gameplay is a little repetitive as you mentioned, but it was ultimately a fun pack that I’ll probably play through a few more times. Hondo was an absolutely genius addition to the pack because he’s such an iconic character for TCW/Rebels fans and the implication that he’s still an active pirate 40+ years after he was first introduced is hilarious and so in-character. I love the little droids you can get to follow you around.
Do you want EA to join with frogware and make a sherlock holmes expansion pack with his most iconic outfits and all of the pipes he smokes as accessories?
I know a bit of the context of this pack. EA acquired the exclusivity rights to produce SW games. In the 9-10ish years they had the license, they made 5 games. Three of them were met with negative reviews and controversy (BF2015, Squadrons and BF2) while the two single player games they made did sell well (Fallen Order and Survivor) but even then, EA was skeptical of a single player SW game because they thought “it wouldn’t sell well” yet SW is one of the largest IPs in the world. Mostly it came from the fact that we were getting yearly releases from LucasArts and all their games performed off the charts. Then EA, a much larger corporation, gets the license and we get mediocre games, rushed launches and consistent buggy messes. There was a release of some transcripts that Disney (who owns SW now) told EA they needed to do better or they were going to lose the exclusivity. So they made this pack. They ultimately botched it all and lost the exclusivity. Sorry for the long, ranty comment. I’ve been a sims player for a while but ultimately, I’ve been a Battlefront 2 player since its launch in 2017 and EA’s entire orbit around SW has been controversy.
I love Star Wars and going to Disneyland. So during COVID i played Batuu to pretend i was in Disney.😂 I think forcing people to change clothes is the worst part of the pack. Eap because not all clothes from the pack are allowed. 😫 BUT the Build/ Buy for Batuu is one of my favs!
This pack was a huge disappointment both as a simmer and a big Star Wars fan. I've dubbed it "Journey to Rabbitholes" because for a universe as cool and expansive as Star Wars, there's just way too much of disappearing into places and imagining that cool stuff is happening. And a Star Wars pack being whittled down to an ad for a theme park only focused on the sequel era is disappointing too. If they had at least added a skill tree for the Force then maybe they would've had something. Very strange having lightsaber duels but no ability to learn the ways of the Force...
So I think this pack is very niche I love sims and Star Wars but if my knowledge is correct Batuu was crested for Galaxys edge (Star Wars land) in Disney honestly in game is almost an exact replica. I had passes and would be there once a month enjoying the land and what it offered[. So I love it. But it’s disappointing cause it’s so niche and doesn’t show simmers how complex and immersive Star Wars is and vice versa for Star Wars fans doesn’t show them the full potential of the sims. But I love it cause I love both and I have seen in “real life” what it’s based on.And as you can tell by ,y comment how conflicted I am
Idk how I'm this early but I know I'm going to enjoy the video as per usual. I personally think the star wars pack is very weird, personally not my cup of tea, I've never gotten into star wars but I do find it neat how the pack did bring some star wars fans to the sims because they heard of the pack.
As a Star Wars fan since birth, I do enjoy this pack; it has good potential (and a lot cheaper than going to the Disney Parks for the same thing😜) I only wish they could've added more quests and storyline to all Scoundrel, First Order, and Resistance, and also have more interactions than just Rabbithole sequences. Also, I would've loved to see a Darksaber collectible and a Mandalorian ranking/quests/and outfits.
Ever since I watched this video I've been trying to figure out why I don't like Journey to Batuu, when Star Wars and the Sim 4 are two of my favourite things. I think it comes down to story; my favourite way to play the Sims is to make up long complex narratives. In Werewolves for instance, I had a sim with a vampire ex who was moving to Moonwood Mill for a change, and got involved with the wildfangs, only for their ex to show back up... In Strangerville I had a secret agent investigating the suspicious lab (and I won't lie, despite the hate Strangerville gets having an evil lab is really useful for a lot of my narratives). I have Star Wars OCs with their own stories, and I would love to recreate them in the Sims and play out some of their lives- and maybe even get inspiration for new storylines. But the reality is, even with Journey to Batuu, I can't. I don't want my character who is native to the star wars universe to move into a residential lot in an earth-like suburb, and then have to go on holiday to Batuu. I want my character to live on Batuu, I want to build my character a star wars house, I want to live out their life and progress through skills and aspirations all just in a star wars setting. JtB is not that. If it had been more like Strangerville, a self contained world of sorts where all the Sims inside of it are star wars themed I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I just want my sim to live out a cozy star wars life T-T
This might be an unpopular opinion but I got werewolves on sale the other day and I massively regret it. Moonwood Mill feels to me how people describe Batuu; hardly any lots (although at least moonwood has 3 to build on, but they’re just not great), nothing to really do and it’s just a walking simulator. You walk around the vast emptiness that is moonwood mill trying to find a flower or trying to find one person in particular to talk to, read a book 5x.. I can’t even look at the world at the moment, I get so annoyed because I wasted like £12 on this 💀😂
To me, sims 4 is so bizarre and badly done that it took me until last year to startbuyi g packs, always on sale, and there’s hardly any gameplay that is actually enjoyable. I mostly like the build/buy items and some cas. So I really like werewolves aesthetic and bb/cas, but the gameplay, like most dlc on this game, was s extremely boring.
@@SNMarlene same! I was playing sims 3 still up until a few weeks ago. I watch a lot of sims content and even though 4 obviously has its problems I wanted to give it a go. I have actually enjoyed it a lot in some ways, but in others it’s a huge disappointment. Moonwood Mill to me is a great example of how empty and lacklustre the worlds are. I thought it would be a bit better because of all the little werewolf missions and stuff, so I thought maybe the world would be a little busier because of that? Severely wrong 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😂 oh well… I can’t un-buy it and at least I got it on sale lol. And like you said the bb and CAS is very nice, but I wouldn’t have paid like £12 just for bb and CAS stuff 🤦🏻♀️
@@SideCharacter12303 true on all accounts!! Sims 4 isn’t worth it even on sale, at least to me, BUT my pc doesn’t run sims 3 well at all and I’m not willing to look for correcting mods, test them, change them, etc at the moment. 3 was and remains my favourite, so much to do and see and I love it SO much. I played it for years, from release to years after 4 came out because I bought it and hated how empty it was, and I feel I didn’t see and do everything there was. A rerelease with 4’s build mode would be simply divine to me.
The gameplay is actually fun when you edit the lots and add items from various packs while doing the Batuu stuff. I've never been a Star Wars pack, but I enjoy Journey To Batuu.

i just bought Batuu on the sale. It is the only pack, other then about 80% of the kits, that i didnt own. I still dont know if i'll EVER touch the gameplay...but we'll see.
I felt like an insane person because I actually really loved it hahaha. I'm not even technically a star wars fan, but when the pack dropped, I was depressed from COVID and missing getting out and dreaming of the honeymoon to Disney World my husband and I had just gone to. Batuu had been SO COOL to be in in person, so when the pack dropped, I almost cried because it reminded me so much of Disney World. It kind of gave me warm feelings that I still have
Ngl I almost bought the pack because when I watched the new movies all I wanted was my sims to kiss Kylo Ren😭😭 So I’m glad my dad didn’t let me buy it but sometimes I still want it
Well, after owning this pack from the start, but never really played it (used Buildmode a little bit though) a diceroll decided that my Sim Kirk "wants" to go to Batuu. The Problem with that is, that I have to go too and I have no Idea how it all works. I struggle. I saw your video and was hoping it could help me a bit.. You are struggling as much as I do. I had fun watching it though, and maybe next time I see Kirk, I will try again
I recently went to Disneyland where the Star Wars area is modeled as Batuu and did you know the DJ in the cantina used to run then Star Tours attraction? He retired from Star tours to DJ there!
I love the star wars pack I made my own R2D2 and I love making up funny stories like this one I made about an old man who was known around his town as the town wacko because nobody believed him when he would talk about batuu not even his own kids until his granddaughter was cleaning out the home after he passed away
the year was 2020. the pandemic shut disney down as I was planning my trip to Galaxys Edge. meanwhile, I'm building a save file completely based on star wars! they all were astronauts or politicians. Sims announced the star wars pack and I literally counted down the days- I am 100% their target audience. I spent so much time that year playing this pack, waiting for my chance to get to the real Batuu. I still love this pack and play it all the time, but tbh I'm working on a save file that is completely wiped and replaced with Star Wars builds and characters. If you like Star Wars or Galaxys Edge, this pack is amazing!!
That was actually pretty cool. I AM a star wars fan, but not huge into it. The set build is amazing. It looks fantastic. Good animations. I agree the gameplay itself seems a little "meh" with all the popup choose-your-own-adventure stories, but a lot better than other similar game features for the sheer volume of possible content. I've never played it so I was curious, and overall I think it's pretty decent. I mean, compare it to Moonwood Mill or Jungle Adventure and yeah, it's pretty good. Not everyone's cup of tea, obviously, but I really didn't expect to like it at all, and I'm pleasantly surprised. ^^
I love the star wars outfits one of my favorite parts of the pack and all the interactions and missions to complete. every pack has value I'm a star wars fan and I do like the cas and some of the build items I think it's kind of cool. But I can see what you mean once you complete it then that's it probably similar to strangerville but I don't play with aliens that much so I think this is better. Now I can't wait to revisit my star wars sim. Haters going to hate it's pretty cool but I do agree that it could be so much more. but it's cool for what it is.
I'm so glad you uploaded this video today. I was thinking of playing that pack (which I have because of a few things in the b/b catalog and a couple of nice hairstyles) but I suspect that I'd be very unhappy that I did it. I just finished playing in Selvadorado with 2 Sims. That was fun. But Batuu doesn't look as fun. Although I enjoyed the movies, I'm just not that into Star Wars. So much of this pack would be better if you have an interest in Star Wars. Either way, May the Fourth be with you!
So would R2-D2 actually function like an influencer's drone? That would be so cool for the next generation of legacy challenge gameplay if Nina would move on to her own life sending a little assistant. 😍
I’m pretty sure they were not allowed to. Disney is super protective of their IP and if I remember correctly, one of the Gurus talked about how involved Disney was in approving every aspect of what they did.

Completely agreed 😅
Exactly this!
As a Star Wars person, a little part of me died when she said “The red is good for Stanley because it looks like ketchup.”
The rest was laughing so hard I could barely breathe.
I loved this video so much. Maybe the pack’s content isn’t the most interesting, but Kayla makes this video worth watching.
May the 4th be with you, kayak
The holo table mission can be done, but even if you know how it works, it can be hard. Basically, I use a lot of distractions (leading the sims around it away by forming a group, using a droid as a distraction). I still always need at least two attempts, but it works!
My biggest qualm with this pack, coming from a Star Wars fan, is that the CAS options contain almost exclusively actual characters' hair & clothing. I don't want to have Rey's exact hairstyle, I want to make my own unique character!!
Stanley Humphrey is just Cal Kestis in a hotdog suit!
I LOVE this pack!! and the build/buy items and the cas items!! I love it!! the gameplay isn't for everyday. But I use the Batu stuff ALL the time!!
I bought sims 4 because of this pack and than got interested in sims. My legacy family is called Ren 🤣 I use a lot of items in every built.
I love how lilsimsie posted a journey to batuu on may 4th
Stanley without his hotdog costume kinda fine 😳
I worked at docking bay 7 at Disney world for about a year so I find this pack really interesting bc the outfits the pack comes with is literally our costumes and the world layout is pretty much the same
The Sims 4 crushing on Star Wars is such funny lore
Stanley is just Great Value Cal Kestis in this
Journey to Batuu is what got me back into Sims. I love it for that reason.
What if this Stanley marries the next heir in your legacy challenge?
Ahh BatUU!!
oh no . stanley humphry is a good looking jedi! looking swave out of that costume stan! XD
What kind of stuff pack do you want for sims 4?
Iirc, scoundrels are used in other official Star Wars games
@@danithoYeah, Lego Star Wars also uses it as a character class (Basically the equivalent of a rogue or something)
Simsie thinks being a landlord is morally bad but beating people up for information is good 😂
And she’s right 😮
I like Journey to Batuu... and the build and buy is gorgeous...
XD
Why is Stanley with the hotdog costume kinda fine!?
May the 4th be with you, Simsieeee!!!!
The Star Wars area in Disneyland is pretty awesome. The Rise of the Resistance ride is amazing.
THEY TOOK HIS CLOTHES!!! HIS WHOLE IDENTITY IS GONE! WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY BOY 😭😭😭
I get to see the video the first minute it goes up! 😁
Do you want EA to join with frogware and make a sherlock holmes expansion pack with his most iconic outfits and all of the pipes he smokes as accessories?
Stanley is a weenie, but I guess if aliens can have a human disguise, he can have a human form too.
I miss hearing the post-outro snippet! I look forward to them every time. 😂
That drone can be used to distract the guards so you can get to that room from earlier, there are acctually multy levels to that quest, its pretty fun
I love Star Wars and going to Disneyland. So during COVID i played Batuu to pretend i was in Disney.😂 I think forcing people to change clothes is the worst part of the pack. Eap because not all clothes from the pack are allowed. 😫 BUT the Build/ Buy for Batuu is one of my favs!
i had to think of as stanley wearing a human costume because my favorite hot dog is not a human under that suit😔
the lightsaber fight looks a lot like the sword fighting from the sims medieval, they probably just updated those animations
Making a Droid sold me, thanks for playing it again. I want it now
Didn't think Stanley would be a ginger, but I guess you learn something new everyday lol
My main use for the Star wars pack is the stone floors.
I've said it before and I'll say it again......Stanley outta hot dog suit ....whoa
I know right!! He is so cute😂❤
Also, I would've loved to see a Darksaber collectible and a Mandalorian ranking/quests/and outfits.
i love that journey to batuu is also lowkey an ad for the star wars park in disney world haha
My guess for this video: the pack will still be bad.
I genuinely love this pack!! I had so much fun. I’ve also never seen Star Wars 😂
i wish the money you earned in batu would've converted to simoleons! i was so shocked when stanley still had 0
I am neutral Star Wars and I love the gameplay in this pack as a Sims fan. It is NOT the worse pack now that there is My Wedding Stories and others.
Literally watching your vids and then I see you just posted❤❤
wow i never thought i would see the day of you playing battuu 😂😂😂😂
Kayla, you shoulda asked James for help lol 😂😂
The gameplay is actually fun when you edit the lots and add items from various packs while doing the Batuu stuff. I've never been a Star Wars pack, but I enjoy Journey To Batuu.
3:11 so you think of Stanley like a less creepy version on Zipper from Animal Crossing
HONDO'S IN THIS?! dont drink anything he gives you!
"coru-SKANT" im dying inside x_x for those who dont know, it's pronounced "coru-SAHNT"
"it's kinda like ketchup" still dying inside rofl
spice is drugs btw XD
batuu is the one vacation world i have yet to go to; i think i'll do that in the game im currently playing. it would fit with the theme; my sim is gonna end up in space anyway, might as well take a space vacation at some point lol. it's nice to get a quick preview! those reputation bars look confusing tho; is there any benefit to having the bar go backwards? hopefully there's orange kyber crystals, too.
If the Sims team can animate lightsaber duels, can we please get sword fighting in a medieval pack? 😭
i just bought Batuu on the sale. It is the only pack, other then about 80% of the kits, that i didnt own. I still dont know if i'll EVER touch the gameplay...but we'll see.
simsie branching out and giving star wars another chance is beautiful to me
I felt like an insane person because I actually really loved it hahaha. It kind of gave me warm feelings that I still have
Aw yeah, Batuu!
I wish they would update it to include more characters like the Mandolarians, Ashoka, Boba Fett, Lando, Jabba the Hut, baby yoda, etc.
Woohoo! Almost at 2 mil! 🎉❤ You're amazing, Kayla
If Star Wars is allowed I would love a Jurassic Park/World pack as well.
Thrown in Matrix and Back to the Future while we're at it.
Ngl I almost bought the pack because when I watched the new movies all I wanted was my sims to kiss Kylo Ren😭😭 So I’m glad my dad didn’t let me buy it but sometimes I still want it
I use it to put aliens in my worlds. Using the hats on the Alien occults makes it more fun for me.
Ok, but Stanley out of his hot dog suit 🫦👀😮💨
I love the star wars pack I made my own R2D2 and I love making up funny stories like this one I made about an old man who was known around his town as the town wacko because nobody believed him when he would talk about batuu not even his own kids until his granddaughter was cleaning out the home after he passed away
omg you could make a droid in the nightmare legacy challenge as a friend for nina ?
3:02 🫵 CHILCHUCK FROM DUNGEON MESHI
the year was 2020. the pandemic shut disney down as I was planning my trip to Galaxys Edge. meanwhile, I'm building a save file completely based on star wars! they all were astronauts or politicians.
As a sw fan I have played the story once and now I only use the items in my kids teens and geeks homes
Seeing Stanley without his hotdog suit is unsettling 😂❤️
i feel like this pack could be a cool gameplay thing if you could work in batu snd u could go work there in secret. almost like an occult sim.
Meeb taforsha wib woo
May the -force- forth be with you
So would R2-D2 actually function like an influencer's drone? That would be so cool for the next generation of legacy challenge gameplay if Nina would move on to her own life sending a little assistant. 😍
incredible idea!
They just need to update the world with buildable lots
I’m pretty sure they were not allowed to. Disney is super protective of their IP and if I remember correctly, one of the Gurus talked about how involved Disney was in approving every aspect of what they did.
I think think Snap reckons we deserve another update on her. She's looking good!
I always cheat the mission with the holotables. I reset the sims and keep going with that until I’ve got it.
