- Jim McColl, who was the former owner of Ferguson Marine shipyard, was presenting evidence yesterday to the Public Audit committee.
The Public Audit Committee gathered to ask questions about the ferries fiasco.
The committee of various MSPs, led by Richard Leonard, asked questions about the process of awarding the contract to Ferguson Marine for ferries 801 and 802.

Basic production management explanations for committee members trying to defend their meddling in something they clearly have no expertise in. It is all the more remarkable that Mr McColl his wasting his time explaining all this. Political ineptitude on public display. An embarrassment to those that voted for MSP's with no basic educational standing to take qualified advice. Wha's like us indeed!
Couldn't organise pissup in a shipyard snp
This is what results when second- and third-rate glorified councillors meddle in engineering projects beyond their ken.
Third rate, giving her a rating far above her ability
This is the problem with socialism. Governments stick their noses into activities that they are not qualified for. Like running the economy. Or like in China trying to control the size of their population. It always ends in disaster.
Skullduggery go hand with SNP. Skullduggery National Party
The SNP can’t bully or intimidate this guy - - he’s too wealthy
And A Rangers Fan As Well,
These newspeak words are bs. ( milestone payments! )
The project must have had a works programme and flow diagram. No one has asked about this, cash outfow and must tie in with the agreed programme.
“I’m a layman in this”. This fiasco needs professional scrutiny.
They should have had experienced guys running the shambles!!!
Send Yousaf,Swinney,Sturgeon etc,to ask the Isle of Man Steampacket co how its done! New Manxman ferry floated yesterday...built by South Korea..Scotland makes good tablet however, and oh the Hillman Imp🤣🤣🤣🤣
And the Singer Chamois. Better than a Mini.
Hillman Imp was a load of crap. They hardly had time to build one, before they were out on strike.
Could have been a great car to rival the mini, but poor workmanship killed the dream.
@@vtechead1 I had both. The Mini was a tractor by comparison. The Imp needed more development and a decent build quality. When they were good, and mine was, they were excellent.
@@ianross225 yep, they could have been a great asset to Scotland. Never understood why those tyres on the angled wheels didn’t wear away on the outside edge.
The new manx ferry only costs £80 million and will be ready for next year.
He is making a fool out them .
Diffently,
Changes to the contract are variations and are costed differently to the contract pricing. If you have a program for the works and can’t keep to it because you can’t get the necessary plant to keep to the planned work it’s the liability of who was responsible for procurement. If that was the government then they pick up the tab if it’s the contractor the he picks up the tab. If works can be rearranged then the program is amended and the works reposted with updated completion time, any additional costs lie with the party responsible for the changes. It looks like the government are picking up the tab for everything no matter who was to blame.
It’s NOT the government - it’s YOU THE TAXPAYERS!
Still surprised that no independent enquiry has taken place and the findings published.
No one who lives in Scotland should laugh at this or take it as just another SNP fckup. This is taxpayer's money. Disastrous.
No enquiry independently will take place.Still waiting on the new sick children’s hospital, new queen elizabeth hospital enquiry’s which will show up the total incompetence of the SNP party.
The British taxpayer own a pair of rust buckets, highly unlikely to ever sail 😂😂😂😂
It's sounds like as soon as they do an engine test . Find they are out of date and too polluting. Krankies greens will demand the 2 ferries be scrapped . Then krankie and Co will shut the yard down .
Mile stone means that you have reached a certain point end of story
The one thing that I take from this is the word; “Fabrication”. Can’t argue with that. The whole question as to where all this money is disappearing to is a FABRICATION of the truth!
Don’t know about Soar Alba but, the old adage; ‘the bigger/higher they are, the harder the fall’ comes to mind. 😞
Payment by tonnage
They will scrap them watch this space
Could have had a big delay 😂😂😂
