    bad tiktok financial advice is good financially for the tiktoker because so many people are helping her monetize. Business Insider did a report on the Fritzes titled, "This husband and wife are the biggest trolls on TikTok--and it pays." They explain their tiktoks are satire on the influencer culture. Chrsiti considers it comedy. Satire, comedy, tomato, tomahhto. Her husband Seth is quoted as saying no matter how ridiculous the videos got, people still believed it and got mad. They've done other videos about buying their 4yo and 1yo iphones and saving them until they turned 16, just like the Tesla.

    • @ErinTalksMoney
      @ErinTalksMoney  2 місяці тому +1

      The videos are ridiculously outlandish, which is crazy. But here’s the thing, there has to be at least some level of truth to some of these. Because when I watched a handful of the videos, their young four-year-old is actually wearing a Louis Vuitton. So I mean while they may joke about the iPhone, or the Tesla, the fact of the matter is, they have some of these products that they joke about. Namely, Louis Vuitton, and other designer items like sunglasses, and jackets, etc.

    • @hanwagu9967

      @@ErinTalksMoney yes, but you aren't seeing or being presented any background information. You can't take everything on YT and tiktok at face value. 😂 In other YT videos there aren't any LV bags in Noelle's closet, and from my eye the two I could see, the felicie pochette and speedy bandouiliere, are both fake. Now things like her daughter's Arhaus Mariah bed may retail for $5k, but they are on sale for $2k or at Arhaus outlet for cheaper. Arhaus is great stuff, so buying quality there. We also don't know anything about their family backgrounds. They aren't idiots, I mean they've setup a for-profit domestic LLC (The Fritz Fam LLC), so if they are buying products and using for their tiktok business, those are business expenses. Other things they never actually show purchasing documents for things like the $1500 coffee mug or the Tesla cyber truck or even the tesla for noelle. If you look at their YT channel, I would contend they are actually living a middle class lifestyle. Seth didn't hire a bunch of people to landscape the backyard, he did it. We also don't know what they are doing on the savings side of things in reality.

    Peoples advice about home buying is always deeply personal and based on where they've lived. Where I'm at buying a home is absolutely the better option if you don't need the mobility of dropping a lease and moving on the spur of the moment. Rent is roughly double mortgage payments where I live. I wouldn't look at home buying as a monetary investment though because the odds of seeing huge valuation gains when it's time to sell aren't that great. You can look at it as an investment like a car though, in that you are putting in money and effort for shelter, is cheaper than renting, and builds some equity.

    I typically buy a new car every 8-10 years. One of the great pleasures of a new car is the new technology like my first car with power steering and a later car with power windows and then air conditioning. The first couple of years of the Toyota Prius designs were a dud and then they hit on a winner design. A 16 year old Tesla would be laughably out of date.

    My favourite are the finance bros who say you shouldn't buy a house. Instead you should buy a house and rent it out. They seem to miss the fact that you still need somewhere to live, and so what they're actually saying, therefore, is you should rent a house to live in at the same time as buying a house to rent out. You're doing the same thing, but with extra steps, extra risk and extra income tax. Cut out the middle man.

    I have heard so much about the book "Die with Zero" that I have to comment. I will be honest, using some of the the financial forecasting tools and set to optimisitic. What I will have at the end even amazes me. But I am HAPPY with my life style, and DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE. Let me ask you Erin. You have a nice house. If you could would you buy one that cost twice as much? I doubt you will. It would not bring you more happiness, it would require more time to clean. (even if you had someone else cleaning it, which I personally find awkward.) Do fancy cars make you happy? Not me, a good dependiblle one does. I could go on but you get my point.
    What you should do, is analyze what brings you contentment. And if that requires money, spend it. But investing is a great thing to do. It teaches patience, and rewards you in the future. (And it gives you the opportunity to learn what a DAF is, and how to set one up for your legacy) 0:-)

      i think you have to assign more context to your comments such as the house one. We initially looked at houses half the cost of the one we bought, and did buying one twice as much bring us happiness? Sure did. My wife and I live in a 6000ft2 house, never go upstairs nor downstairs since MBR is on main floor. I'm fine with my robots in the basement and upstairs doing maintenance vacuuming while a maid comes to clean once a week. The context here is that our house is in prime location in terms of commute access, schools, public transit, commercial, and entertainment, and we didn't have to dump time, energy, and money into updating a house costing twice less in a different area. That means people have no problem selling, and our nook did not see house value decline in the wake of 2008 crisis like everyone outside our nook. That makes me much happier than if we bought twice the cost. I suppose you have to define fancy car. We've been a one car brand consumer even before we were married, so our view is that we know the brand/dealers/service, know how to work on them, and know their quirks, plus we've owned each car at least 10years. Now if we suddenly ran into our cars not lasting at least 10yrs, then sure I'd be willing to consider looking at something else. I bought a $6k prosumer espresso machine, which means we don't buy our daily coffees at the coffee shop. Whether someone else views a cup of 5cent sanka the same or better than what I can get from my $6k machine is something that doesn't matter to me. What matters is I'm not going to pay some tattooed idiot $7 plus a tip.

      @@hanwagu9967 Ok so you are much more materialistic than I. That is OK. Question is, are you spending now, and wont have invested enough to give you a good future? if you are OK with where you will be, when the income from your "labors" diminishes, I guess you are on a solid plan. (Not mine, but hey, to each their own.). But if your spending now, is going to impact how you live in the future, I think you are likely making a silly decision. But hey, if a 6000 sq house now, that I think you wrote you only use half makes you content. Go for it if it fits in a good plan.
      BTW, I own two properties (in full) in two different cities. And let me give you one small piece of advice. You can only be in one place at a time. While you are in one, the other is idle. Also had 3 cars, but one wasn't used. enough so I sold it.
      Again, my comment, is somewhat directed to my situation. I "could" likely buy your home for cash, with the car, and likely another. But I have NO interest in doing that. So the book is not for me. I will "die with a lot more than Zero" and I will be happy that I did.

You have to listen to the right person and make logical decisions. And you need to experience thing to be able to look back and have gone though it. Most younger people have logic at all. And you need to listen to multiple good places to grow and make choices for yourself and where you want to go. Anyone can have a Porsche sitting in their parents driveway. 😂

This is the dumbest idea I've heard in a long time as we don't know what the outcome is of storing a battery operated car for 12 years and the effects that is going to have battery life, the electronics in the car, software updates, etc. What if in 12 years the technology is far more advanced than what it is today and the now 16 year old daughter doesn't like the car because it's now an old car with old technology. So many what if's without having a clear idea where we will be in 12 years.

    The Tesla girl has a myriad of educational aspects left in her life to accomplish, as it looks like her parents and our school system failed her…most of which is on her parents incompetence. Although it’s a good thing for the rest of us who will use our education to jump ahead in life and have fun conversations about people like her!

    I bought my baby a Tesla also. But a car parked in storage will rot away. So, to ensure it is in perfect condition, I drive it every week. And if it does start to get slower, or have issues, or just out of date I will replace it with a new one to ensure she gets a car in perfect working order! Sure, it will be an old POS by the time she can drive it. But hey, I will do anything for my children because I am a great parent!
