I'm SO glad i ran across this video! I was having problems with my tailgate light bar, it plugged into the trailer connecter, but caused the truck to think a trailer is attached! That causes the "check trailer lights" to flash in the DIC, and it disables the backup alert. I just got the new chip installed for "Park Assist" in my 2022 Silverado, but it doesn't work. Also I'm getting "Service Driver Assist System" notices. I took it to Chevy dealer, they say i have to disconnect the lightbar or they won't work on it, and I'll have to pay for any fixes (instead of warranty coverage). I WAS going to build a line-driver box, running from the battery, to take the load off the trailer connector...but now I'm not even sure THAT would work. The CORRECT answer is to run the light bar off the turn signals/brake lights, and NOT the trailer connector. This idea saved the day! Turns out Amazon claims that particular Putco harness won't work with MY Silverado (don't know why), but i found one from Opt7. I like your light bar, i like the amber turn signals and the way they light up sequentially. Great job with the install. I'm gonna keep my current lightbar for now, cuz i paid almost $100 for it (has dense LEDs but no amber). But i wish it came with the brackets. I've never seen that, seems more secure. (I've had to replace sticky tape on 2 trucks so far!) Good job!
Thanks for video. I've had 2 od the redline triple led on my last truck. Love the light. Bought new 2021 truck and bar didn't work. Sent back, thankfully no problems returning. I'm now getting the blade / wiring harness. Thanks to your video I might get the redline again..... thanks again for video.
Update.....harnesses works great on a 2021 gmc sierra 2500. Running a blade and opt7 triple led bar. I like the opt7 but the blade is brighter. Thanks again for video, you answered a question Noone else did. Thank you very much again‼️💖

Hey buddy Do your self a favor ditch that “ T “ connector . It will absolutely corrode internally and look pristine on the exterior . Thinking it is fine it will drive you nuts trying to figure out why it doesn’t work !

Ha ha! Thanks a lot for the comment/ question. The light bar continues to work as expected. As for the aftermarket muffler, I actually went with the 14" MagnaFlow muffler. Like you, I did not want an overwhelming loud exhaust. This MagnaFlow gives off a nice rumble without getting too loud. Sound a whole lot better than the stock exhaust for sure.
Great video Frank...I was going to go all out with Putco (harness and bar) but I really wanted the sequential turn signals. It makes the bar and truck look really nice. Putco does not have sequential lighting (I called them up personally over the phone). Thanks to your video I've already purchased the harness quick connect, and now I'm about to purchase the OPT7 light bar you used on your truck. Your video was the perfect installation instruction for the sequential turn signals I was looking for. Thanks again Frank and keep up the good work... One last thing Frank, on Amazon it states that if I have a backup camera I would need to add the OPT7 module BLIS. I do have a backup camera and trailer guidance system. I don't have any sensors. I did not see you install any modules for these issues...did you take this into account?

Stay away from Putco.. My Putco bar failed. First the right reverse side stopped working. Yesterday my left running went out. Just out of warranty.. Emailed Putco and was denied service.. I pulled that junk off my truck and ordered Redline.. I will how that brand holds up.
Thanks for the question. You can predrill but make sure you use the correct sized bit (not too big). However, you do not need to because the self-tapping screws do it all for you. Lastly, do not over tighten. The led light bar is still securely in place after all this time.

I have a OBT7 Redline Triple LED Tailgate light bar Installed on my 2022 Tundra 1794. Everything worked great. No codes/errors on Dash. Then, I noticed on one of my cameras that when backing up and then stopping and then go forward from Braking that the whole light bar flashed Yellow. Sometimes it even does it when moving forward from stop. Has anyone experience that or can check their OBT7 lightbars
Did you have a problem with your opt7 when you just plug it in the 4 pin connector? I try testing mine and only a portion of the turn signal works and it was flashlight bad. They said if I have the blind side system I have to hardwire it. But I don’t know if that’s what’s causing that or i have a defective one
Hi - just to clarify I used a harness that plugs directly into both tail lights and the other end has a female 4-pin connector. The opt7 plugs into that 4-pin connector. Also, the only wire I hard wired was the white wire (reverse) between the harness and opt7. To this day, the whole system works flawlessly! If you bought the light from amazon, return it and get a replacement.

Great, I have the same setup but mine truck is a 2023 silverado duramax 3500, so how hard was it to take off the tailgate and did you have to add this to your truck towing access?
Thanks for the questions. Removing the tailgate was easy, you just need to be careful you dont scratch it when you set it down. The towing access (light pin connector is still fully available. )

Good job on the video... BUT you know all you had to do was plug the original FLAT 4 pin connector into the trailer 4 pin connector to do the same thing, no extra harnesses or splicing plug and play?? LOL
😆 Thanks for the comment....BUT, do you really wanna see a hideous cable sticking out of the bumper? I know the connector is there, the name of the game here was a clean install with no exposed wiring. Plus, you have an unused connector if you ever need to hook up a trailer.

My opt7 did the same when i tried it the way you did. I used the curtis Harnes tha goes in the the towing 7 ping connection.
