Aap MG ki baat kar rahe ho, last week 4th Sept 2022 ko Maruti Ciaz me ek fault ki wajha se me roadside stuck ho gaya. I was approx 350+ km from my city, but I was only 14km from vadodara. I tried to contact maruti service station from morning 10AM to around 3PM, and didn't got any satisfactory results from maruti. I felt that maruti has such a big network and reputation but still I suffered, and that to when i was just 14 km from such a big city. I just wondered that what will happen is someone stuck at roads where the nearest city is 50 or 80 km away.
Better if you file a suit against the manufacturer and the dealer in District Consumer Forum. CPA will surely give you relief in this matter. I too suffered similar problem with Fiat India, fought for 2 years on different levels and finally legally succeded to shut the dealer off permanantly. You will have to be patient throughout the process.

I think the biggest problem with the companies in India is they're not able to get high skilled labors on board. We see a lot of products coming up now a days with tonnes of electronics in it. I own a mg zs ev and never had any problems. Used for three years now. If you have a motor fault, and given that you have done so little miles, you should get a new replacement. I hope you got your money back.
For all those who don't know MG is state owned company of china so please avoid the buy MG .their profits also share china govt. In smartphones we don't have options to avoids due to price range but with cars we have option so why to go for this company.

My MG ZS ev 20220battery has failed after 1,10,000kms. They are saying they have found moisture trace's in the battery terminal so warrenty will not work. My car was not into water and I have the dash cam video proving me. Insisting me to go for insurence for an ip rated battery getting moisture inside the battery

Range declared are arai range not true range, with less payload and ac off. True range is 25-30% lesser will also depend upon how long the traffic and AC is on. Battery is not faulty. I beleive it's more of a lack of service knowhow issue, there are lot of fault State in motor for saftey protection, it can get resolved and if done properly it won't create issue again.

May be the lots of comments but the reality is 1) the charging capacity + power decrease after every single charge of battery with standard conditions - now you can't never met the standard conditions untill and unless you buy such equipment which is use for testing. 2) if you divided price of your battery 26/4 = 6.5 lakh almost, which you have to use in max 5-6 year. Every battery life is near this. Even if you are use it or not use it. 3) price of battery + motor will increase year by year same like petrol and diesel. The are also not renewable. 4) you should also know about g force or whatever impact capabilities by your motor. 5) always buy a cheap ev else you will not make any profit after 10year. Cause every year your capacity to go in single charge will decreased it will not increase. 6) electric charging prices will also increase day by day. Lots of matter need to calculate before purchase ev bro, if you was ask me before purchase it i will surely tell same things. Always decision is yours.

if you see the reviews of ev vehicles, all the auto journalists strictly recommend you to use EV vehicles as a secondary vehicle it is your mistake by taking the EV vehicle as your primary car. I have seen the interview of Tata Technical head who has designed tata Nexon EV in that he has mentioned clearly that the team at the service stations are strictly prohibited in doing any technical work related to motor and battery, if any fault occurs there would be a team from Tata Motors Head office and would be solved by them. So I think it would be the same case with MG as well. I suggest you to reach the zonal head of MG for faster and efficient resolution and plan for a IC car and do not rely on EV only and still you want to go the sustainable way you can choose hybrids.
Bro my advice is that you must try to talk with the owner of MG. If most of the customers are facing the issues than 100% place a case on MG. Or if few people are facing the issue. Nexon ki bhi economy pein 200km range hein. There are few ways to solve this issue: 1. Government lower taxes on ev, so companies can put larger battery packs in the car. 2. Wait for Battery prices to come down in the next 2 to 5 years. 3. Make these car more efficient by developing ev car foundation from ground up.
30% less than claimed mileage is common on EV. I have a NEV, If I drive on endurance mode I get 270km of the claimed 320km. Regularly I get around 240km. If I harsh on throttle and run AC in hot climate I get around 220km. And long drives it gives around 220km only as I would be full load and AC
They might have made it common because there is not much awareness and since it is new there might not be many strict laws about EV in india. A customer should get what he is promised, he is not begging for the product, he is paying for it. Don't day it's common, if you say 30% is common now in the future the companies will dare to say that even 50% is common
I've been using an 4W EV since last 8 years nd I've always got the claimed mileage. Now as the battery is ageing I'm not getting as much as i used to get in the initial years. The point I'm trying to make is one needs to understand that there is difference between in the was you drive ICE & EV vehicles. It's a little difficult to explain that here in text but you need to be light footed, avoid unnecessary acceleration nd braking, etc etc., and there are many other factors which affect the range like terrain, climate, usage of AC, traffic etc. So all in all i can say typical ICE driving style won't get best results in an EV.
I agree with your observations and the hardships you have faced, but you also need to see the experiences of others who have purchased and used this vehicle. Secondly, TATA should improvise on the TATA NEXON MAX EV and upgrade its features such as the infotainment system (Kia style), adaptive cruise control, ADASand 360 deg camera system, reclined rear seats and spacious interiors. However, this might cost a little bit more but if the advanced features and provided there is no problem in paying for them. DRVM would also be an added feature. If all these features are included (naturally they would increase the cost) I believe that TATA NEXO MAX EV would sell like hot cake in India and all the Chinese products will lose the market. The problem is that Indian manufacturers lack the concept of capturing the market. They need to learn from Kia and Hyundai.
I bought MG ZS EV 2024 model. Had same range issue, 5.1-5.4km per kilo watt. Multiplying it by 50kw battery capacity means 255 to 270 km on full charge. Went to showroom and informed them. They opened my iSMART app which clearly indicated my driving patterns. They told me how to drive EVs and after this fine tuning of my driving skills (I have 25+ years of legal driving experience) I am getting 8.5-8.7 km per kilo watt in Eco mode meaning 425 to 435. One easy trick is to use cruise control in Eco mode with KERS 3. I have driven almost 2600+ km till date and enjoying the vehicle performance. But want to know your current status before selling off my existing diesel backup car 😊
wanted to buy this over Nexon EV cause I don't like model of Nexon..but than something happened.. Honda woke up with hybrid, and my love for Honda plus hybrid technology pulled me away from MG...loving every KM...8.5 K in less than 4 months 😄
Good review but I would like to share one suggestions over here is please mention your city name in video so that if any new person watching your video, will be aware where is poor service is providing by the company.
I think your motor might be faulty from day 1 or early on in the cycle. Perhaps a manufacturing defect. That's why it might had been draining more battery hence lesser range. That's what I can guess. Don't get a repaired motor, get a new motor. Do not forget to bargain for extended warranty and AMC packages from them. Then see if the battery range is still the same or it is better. Then you'll need to proceed with higher steps. This what I'm suggesting might be win win for both of you. At times there are manufacturing defects, something like 0 day error in coding etc. There has been an instance of a big hole in engine of tata safari (which is a very reliable fiat sourced engine)
Finally someone spilled some logic. I was about to write this. MG technicians never took intrested in technical analysis that's why ur car failed otherwise I guess if they told u in first month than they would have to replace the motor or the car and now they will try to cover it up

I can totally relate. I bought ZS EV in Jan 21. My total mileage has dropped alot. I have also faced loads of problems from the car, it has spent alot of time in service centre. Also faced difficulty in renewing insurance after having replaced windshield worth 43K in first year.

EV's are a bad idea - I would even call them a scam. They tell you it's no service cost - this is true. BUT! They don't tell you that you have to replace the battery every 5-7 years. This will cost you 5-6lakhs. Do you think you will spend 1 lakh per year on "service cost"? Now you'll argue that the cost of fuel is saved (true) and that there is no pollution (false) Yes, you will save money - but you are limited to city driving only. If you want to go to some Hill Station, forget about it - unless you can afford to spend 30+lakhs on an MG or BYD car. Even the most "affordable" EV like a Tata Tigor (range 200km) will cost 15+ lakhs Finally you think zero pollution. First ask yourself, how is the electricity produced? Most of our electricity is produced by cutting Coal - so there will be minimal impact on pollution. In Gurgaon, most buildings still use DG sets to generate electricity during the frequent powe outages. So are you really going to reduce pollution?

Wo noise is from ac compressor, I also own a ZS EV, AC on hone k Karan se wo compressor ka noise aati hai, whenever you drive, road noise se wo compressor noise gayab hojaati hai. Yes, real range is around 270-280km.
I know it's a rant, but buying an EV car and not having backup plan, say a bike or scooter are some bad decisions yr. You should've also thought about our current infrastructure of EV. I personally would only consider buying an EV post 10 years. Because it's still impractical to own an EV in India, with ARI acclaimed range of 500-600 Kms with real world ranging to 450 Kms, most EV companies are basically creating this mirage of EV dreams. This is not Tesla, and we are not living in California. 🤷♂

Range declared are arai range not true range, with less payload and ac off. True range is 25-30% lesser will also depend upon how long the traffic and AC is on. Battery is not faulty. I beleive it's more of a lack of service knowhow issue, there are lot of fault State in motor for saftey protection, it can get resolved and if done properly it won't create issue again.

May be the lots of comments but the reality is
1) the charging capacity + power decrease after every single charge of battery with standard conditions - now you can't never met the standard conditions untill and unless you buy such equipment which is use for testing.
2) if you divided price of your battery 26/4 = 6.5 lakh almost, which you have to use in max 5-6 year. Every battery life is near this. Even if you are use it or not use it.
3) price of battery + motor will increase year by year same like petrol and diesel. The are also not renewable.
4) you should also know about g force or whatever impact capabilities by your motor.
5) always buy a cheap ev else you will not make any profit after 10year. Cause every year your capacity to go in single charge will decreased it will not increase.
6) electric charging prices will also increase day by day. Lots of matter need to calculate before purchase ev bro, if you was ask me before purchase it i will surely tell same things. Always decision is yours.

These all may be baised comments worst tata ever cars… verify with physically genuine owners… never ever buy tata cars such a worst sales and service as well as worst engines and motors
if you see the reviews of ev vehicles, all the auto journalists strictly recommend you to use EV vehicles as a secondary vehicle it is your mistake by taking the EV vehicle as your primary car. I have seen the interview of Tata Technical head who has designed tata Nexon EV in that he has mentioned clearly that the team at the service stations are strictly prohibited in doing any technical work related to motor and battery, if any fault occurs there would be a team from Tata Motors Head office and would be solved by them. So I think it would be the same case with MG as well. I suggest you to reach the zonal head of MG for faster and efficient resolution and plan for a IC car and do not rely on EV only and still you want to go the sustainable way you can choose hybrids.
Bro my advice is that you must try to talk with the owner of MG.
If most of the customers are facing the issues than 100% place a case on MG.
Or if few people are facing the issue. Then the possibilities is that you get detected piece.

Nexon ki bhi economy pein 200km range hein. There are few ways to solve this issue:
1. Government lower taxes on ev, so companies can put larger battery packs in the car.
2. Wait for Battery prices to come down in the next 2 to 5 years.
3. Make these car more efficient by developing ev car foundation from ground up.

Hi Sahil, what's the update now? Have they replaced it or you are still fighting the case at the consumer forum or with the company yet?
30% less than claimed mileage is common on EV. I have a NEV, If I drive on endurance mode I get 270km of the claimed 320km. Regularly I get around 240km. If I harsh on throttle and run AC in hot climate I get around 220km.
And long drives it gives around 220km only as I would be full load and AC

They might have made it common because there is not much awareness and since it is new there might not be many strict laws about EV in india. A customer should get what he is promised, he is not begging for the product, he is paying for it. Don't day it's common, if you say 30% is common now in the future the companies will dare to say that even 50% is common
I've been using an 4W EV since last 8 years nd I've always got the claimed mileage. Now as the battery is ageing I'm not getting as much as i used to get in the initial years. The point I'm trying to make is one needs to understand that there is difference between in the was you drive ICE & EV vehicles. It's a little difficult to explain that here in text but you need to be light footed, avoid unnecessary acceleration nd braking, etc etc., and there are many other factors which affect the range like terrain, climate, usage of AC, traffic etc.
So all in all i can say typical ICE driving style won't get best results in an EV.

I agree with your observations and the hardships you have faced, but you also need to see the experiences of others who have purchased and used this vehicle. Secondly, TATA should improvise on the TATA NEXON MAX EV and upgrade its features such as the infotainment system (Kia style), adaptive cruise control, ADASand 360 deg camera system, reclined rear seats and spacious interiors. However, this might cost a little bit more but if the advanced features and provided there is no problem in paying for them. DRVM would also be an added feature. If all these features are included (naturally they would increase the cost) I believe that TATA NEXO MAX EV would sell like hot cake in India and all the Chinese products will lose the market. The problem is that Indian manufacturers lack the concept of capturing the market. They need to learn from Kia and Hyundai.

I bought MG ZS EV 2024 model. Had same range issue, 5.1-5.4km per kilo watt. Multiplying it by 50kw battery capacity means 255 to 270 km on full charge. Went to showroom and informed them. They opened my iSMART app which clearly indicated my driving patterns. They told me how to drive EVs and after this fine tuning of my driving skills (I have 25+ years of legal driving experience) I am getting 8.5-8.7 km per kilo watt in Eco mode meaning 425 to 435.
One easy trick is to use cruise control in Eco mode with KERS 3.
I have driven almost 2600+ km till date and enjoying the vehicle performance.
But want to know your current status before selling off my existing diesel backup car 😊

wanted to buy this over Nexon EV cause I don't like model of Nexon..but than something happened.. Honda woke up with hybrid, and my love for Honda plus hybrid technology pulled me away from MG...loving every KM...8.5 K in less than 4 months 😄

Good review but I would like to share one suggestions over here is please mention your city name in video so that if any new person watching your video, will be aware where is poor service is providing by the company.
I think your motor might be faulty from day 1 or early on in the cycle. Perhaps a manufacturing defect. That's why it might had been draining more battery hence lesser range. That's what I can guess. Don't get a repaired motor, get a new motor. Do not forget to bargain for extended warranty and AMC packages from them. Then see if the battery range is still the same or it is better. Then you'll need to proceed with higher steps. This what I'm suggesting might be win win for both of you. At times there are manufacturing defects, something like 0 day error in coding etc. There has been an instance of a big hole in engine of tata safari (which is a very reliable fiat sourced engine)
Finally someone spilled some logic. I was about to write this. MG technicians never took intrested in technical analysis that's why ur car failed otherwise I guess if they told u in first month than they would have to replace the motor or the car and now they will try to cover it up

You can go for consumer Forum but it will take around 1 to 2 years for final decision to come, its not a quick procedure.
I can totally relate. I bought ZS EV in Jan 21. My total mileage has dropped alot. I have also faced loads of problems from the car, it has spent alot of time in service centre. Also faced difficulty in renewing insurance after having replaced windshield worth 43K in first year.

EV's are a bad idea - I would even call them a scam.
They tell you it's no service cost - this is true. BUT! They don't tell you that you have to replace the battery every 5-7 years. This will cost you 5-6lakhs.
Do you think you will spend 1 lakh per year on "service cost"?
Now you'll argue that the cost of fuel is saved (true) and that there is no pollution (false)
Yes, you will save money - but you are limited to city driving only. If you want to go to some Hill Station, forget about it - unless you can afford to spend 30+lakhs on an MG or BYD car.
Even the most "affordable" EV like a Tata Tigor (range 200km) will cost 15+ lakhs
Finally you think zero pollution. First ask yourself, how is the electricity produced? Most of our electricity is produced by cutting Coal - so there will be minimal impact on pollution.
In Gurgaon, most buildings still use DG sets to generate electricity during the frequent powe outages. So are you really going to reduce pollution?

Wo noise is from ac compressor, I also own a ZS EV, AC on hone k Karan se wo compressor ka noise aati hai, whenever you drive, road noise se wo compressor noise gayab hojaati hai. Yes, real range is around 270-280km.
I know it's a rant, but buying an EV car and not having backup plan, say a bike or scooter are some bad decisions yr. You should've also thought about our current infrastructure of EV. I personally would only consider buying an EV post 10 years. Because it's still impractical to own an EV in India, with ARI acclaimed range of 500-600 Kms with real world ranging to 450 Kms, most EV companies are basically creating this mirage of EV dreams. This is not Tesla, and we are not living in California. 🤷♂

Ek din me main 250 to nahi chalata aur agar kahi bahar bhi jaa raha hu to 250km me Khane k lea to rukunga bhi. 45mibs me full charge fast chargers se. Jo Delhi k aas paas har jaagh hai. SO I dont think range is the issue for me. But Yes MG service and qUALITY IS.
