I bought this kit and was glad I had an e-file. It takes me a while to do my own. Also, I have only done 2 sets so far, and get better and better at not flooding the cuticle. It's SO important to NOT get too close to the cuticle or skin on sidewalls. Still, each set looks better, so I should be great at this in no time.

They are plenty strong. Just make sure it's thin enough and far enough from the cuticle and sidewalls. If you have an e-flle to smooth out the cuticle are better, it helps.
@@rain3743 I swear it took two weeks to get my cuticles off my fingernails ..it had been so long and then I caught this “Nail Bug”. My thumb is still going great (1 application), I has a small amount of lifting right under the cuticle at the end of week 1 - filed carefully- the rest was rock solid. Thanks for responding 😀

I do both. Shows & music. But I get more work done when listening to music. Shows distract me bc I want to see what’s going on. Lol so if I do I’ll tend to put on something I’ve already watched multiple times. And I agree. Reinforcing dual form nails is a must! Bc if you layer it too thick when you initially do them there’s so much spillage. And they can still break potentially. But I’ve learned that using a nail form under (to keep it smooth) doesn’t work for me. 😭😭 So I’ve gotten back into using tips. But I hate nail glue now, so I use gel to apply my tips instead. And so far it’s worked ok. I need to get my process down better, but I like it.
This may be a dumb question but I’m completely new to this, am I able to paint over the cured poly gel with regular nail polish if I wanted to? Just a mom trying to have nice nails doing it myself but don’t want to spend money every month to get them done but also tired of my regular nails & polish chipping the day after I do them 😩😩

I totally agree with that statement that you feel that you have to get everything right away. My biggest problem is not doing the nails It's editing I suck at it so I pretty much just do my nails and I might speed it up only because I don't think that a hour video is right for me especially at the moment 🤔. I am at 150 subscribers but I really hope that I can get better quality videos uploaded to show my dedication and work

I have the ModelOnes dual forms and every time I file the sides to fit my nail they get sooo fuzzy. no amount of filing will smooth it out. Can you help me please?
I noticed you used the dual forms on top of the nail forms, is there a reason you do it that way? First time ove seen it done this way and now I'm cutious
I do it this way because sometimes with dual forms it can mess up the shape of the back of the nail and you need to go back in with an efile. At the time I didn’t have an e-file so this made it so that the back of my nail was perfectly shaped and there was no overlapping polygel! I learned this from Nailcou on UA-cam!

I actually use modelones polygel. If you use the correct amount to start they wil not break. I'm a beginner but did multiple sets on myself and daughters.
I completely understand this is just my preferred method since I’m not a fan of using dual forms. You can definitely get strong nails with dual forms that don’t break.

So I used topcoat and it keeps the crystals on for at least a week but if you want your crystals to stay on the whole time you should get a rhinestone glue. My favorite is the Mia Secret Nail resin and you don’t have to cure it! Here’s a link to it:amzn.to/3c09Zlr

Thank you❤️ You’ve gonna love it! Definitely so many options! I used a rhinestone glue gel and topcoat. You could definitely do that but it would make them look cloudy and less reflective. You could put a thin layer of polygel on the nails then topcoat then put stones into the wet gel then cure and they should stay. Why are you using dual and free form both together?
Because sometimes when you do dual forms the underside of the nail can be lumpy and you have to use a efile to clean it up. This way prevents you from having to do that!

Really?? I’m so sorry I usually have no issues with them! Try using the polygel in layers like I did or even using tips! I prefer to use tips with polygel and my nails never break!

@@KristinaRobinson oh I didn't realize the video was older I'm so sorry I was trying to get to the exact kit you have because where I'm a beginner I bought the other kit from them I thought it was a starter kit and it has like the springtime colors does Marlin make your life beautiful but all it has in it is the base coat the top coat colors the dual forms, the brush and the basic stuff, no primer or dehydrator or instructions! The last night I was doing my daughter's nails and the first to come out really good but then the rest of them they kept breaking like right at the tip of her real nail and I was like why is it doing this if it didn't do it before and I think what I'm doing or was doing was I was pushing you know pushing down on the form too hard and the Apex that I built up was being smushed so where her nail was and the tip of the polygel started was getting so there was no no Apex right there
@@KristinaRobinson I wasn't really even trying to use like the coupon code I was just trying to use the link to get to the exact kit you used in the video because it looks like it has everything I need in it I think what I ended up buying on accident was like a gift set it's for someone that already has all the you know basic stuff like the monomer, primer and dehydrator the different grit files. But I really love the color changing gels those are cool, I just need the full kit with proper instructions maybe even some nail clips the things that hold the form to the nail

I just want to say something because you are doing the first step completely wrong, and are wasting forms and your money. The plastic forms are used on their own. There is no need to use two forms. You use the paper ones for free form, or if you intend to put rhinestones or the like on top, so that you can set them in the wet poly gel to avoid gluing. Also, for unique or pointed shapes like the one you chose.
The reason why I used 2 forms is because I did not have a nail drill at the time and when you use the plastic forms the underside of the nail can be uneven so to prevent having to file underneath with a nail drill, I used the paper form. I mentioned this in the video. I know how to use each form properly, this video is showing a different technique which I learned from a professional nail technician. I do not mind using both forms because the plastic forms are reusable so none go to waste.
