One additional note here on the A90K - it's part of Sony's Master Series. That means that the panels are hand-picked off of the production line as being the best of the best that can be produced (a process called binning) and the TVs are pre-calibrated by Sony technicians at the factory before they are ever put in the box to get them as close to reference quality, perfectly accurate color as possible. They also include the light-up, back-lit remote control with those TVs as well.
Precalibrated is the best thing they could have done. I got tired w messing w LG cx and exchanged for this - didn’t have to mess w it at all. Remote is superb.
Best TV I’ve owned. I did some adjustments from UA-cam TV Techs for this TV They were good but still not perfect so I turned up the Black levels a little bit because I thought the TV was too Dark then I turned the color level back below 50 because it was a little too bright for colors. Now I have the Most Natural Color TV I've ever seen. The Picture is Clear & Bright and skin tones are Natural. It took a little effort and thinking but now I have a Great Looking Picture.
Finally! In smaller, reasonable size! I currently have a way outdated 42inch Bravia HDTV. Would actually be nice if they had this in 45inch. 48 might stick out a smidge on my table, though not that I don’t want to go bigger.
I bought it in the 48 inch size. I have a small living room and have been used to a Sony Bravia 32 inch size for the last 13 years. 48 inches seems gigantic to me . Its an awesomely built mid size . A perfect fit . Build quality is great. Performance for watching sports and movies is amazing. I love this.
This is a great little review. I bought the 48 inch size on Cyber Monday at Best Buy. I am not a gamer but I love watching sports , various shows of interest like Star Trek and Sliders etc and occasional movies. This TV does everything well. Vibrant colors and clarity. The built in sound system is amazing. No sound bar required in my world thats for sure. I struggled a bit with what size TV that I wanted. I needed something to enhance watching hockey, baseball, football. When the A 90 K went on sale at Best Buy I grabbed the last one in stock on Cyber Monday. I viewed it before hand to see what sports would look like on it. I decided 48 inches was plenty big and the colors and clarity watching it in the store were great. I also knew Sony puts extra love into their Master Class series of TV's so I jumped at the chance to own one. I have owned it now for almost 4 weeks and am thrilled with the performance. Sony hit the sweet spot on this one.
I absolutely love reading comments like this. You my friend, have done your research and I am very excited that the A90K (especially at that price) was your choice! Thanks again for the feedback my friend 🤘

@@LARRYfromSONY I know it's been some time since I came back but I wanted ample time to REALLY feel this one out... After 5 months of messing with this gorgeous set I have to be completely honest and lay it down. This display is the most accurate, beautiful and completely flawless display I have ever had the pleasure of laying eyes upon! I just got done setting up and calibrating a friends Samsung QD OLED (QN95B I think it was?) and compared to the A90K Master series, the Samsung is oversaturated and inaccurate. This is what makes a SONY a "SONY", PERFECTION and REALISM/ACCURACY! I saved for years waiting for the perfect OLED for my use case and finally the A90K tears the space-time continuum to deliver a set that feels way ahead of it's time! I frequently find myself just staring at 4K Dolby Vision HDR content on this set and wondering how in the hell you guys pulled this off! Conclusion... There is no way to truly rate this display other than to give it its well-deserved title... A true "Master series" indeed! Now I need to find a way to get over my addiction to this display! I simply cannot stop watching this set! Bravo SONY, bravo...
At first, I was going to get the 55" A80L but I am going to go with the A90 K for the primieum sound quality, gaming and picture quality. This is going to be for my secondary TV for my upstairs master. I think this is the best bang for your buck. Small is not always bad.
Planning to upgrade later this year when decent sales kick in. Sony New Zealand charges NZ$2,499 for the 42". Come sales season it should come down to around NZ$1,799. Will upgrade from my 2017 Sony 4k HDMI 1.4 TV. Will use as monitor primarily.
Sony firmware PKG.6.6070.0711EUA for "J" series is defective. The CAM, CI+ module does not work. Please do something about the only one that was and was ok is PKG.5660 ...
Sony, finally solve the problem with the CAM, Ci+ module on "J" and "Xh" series TVs. Watch does not go. Sony shame how much you can wait for a software update. I haven't been able to use the tv for 4 months...
I don't think any of Sony's TVs support G Sync, but you can still use use VRR with a PC on these TVs as long as the PC is plugged into an HDMI 2.1 port and then you enable it in the nVidia control panel.
Today, people in North America can watch Disney movies on their Sony 4K TVs since the physical media releases are now distributed Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Why you guys haven't released this product in india? I am really upset with the sony team . India is also a gaming obsessed nation and this tv should has been launched in india.
Can you please expand on that? Currently owning a pc that has a 3070 Ti and was tempted to buy this TV. Would like to know more about your experience with it so far
To begin with, the TV cannot be laid down on its face. The screws that hold the mounts to the base are Torx, so, you had better have a set of Torx drivers. After that, the screws will not tighten down all the way and the mounts have some wobble. Once you lift the 50# TV onto those mounts, you're supposed to put in 4 screws. Two of the screws are so far in that they won't stay on the Phillips head screwdriver so you can get them in. After all of that, you get to TRY to input your network name and password with the absolutely TERRIBLE remote! Everything with controlling this TV depends on that remote. For the Sony name and the price, the remote should be a LOT better than it is. As far as the quality of the picture, you're dependent on what your provider sends you. Is this one better than the 15 year old one it replaces? The jury is still out. Yes, it's a SMART TV, but, .... WARNING, if you buy something larger than the 48", it definitely requires 2 people - it's heavy and awkward to handle at 48", let alone larger.
I'm agreeing with all... The sony a90k is the best... But why it is not available in india..?? Hha... This is very disappointing.,😓 we have only one choice in 42 and 48 oled segment.. Its the lg c2...

Looking at the 42” as a replacement of a 10 year old 32” Samsung. Will be a big difference 😂
True,on the best
I need to upgrade. I bought my sony bravia in 2016, airplay wasn't out yet for Tvs.

How you managed the static images per example desktops icons ones?

Please make 55" available for all country
Not made in that size

Does this 'upscale' non-Blu Ray DVD's to/wards HD or is there no improvement? How good do non-Blu Rays look? Thanks!
It does upscale.
Part of the Sony tax is related to their picture processing. Which is supposed to be quite good.
