Haha we literally lived less than half a mile from the Purina cannery In Satala for 3 years at one point! I worked there (when it was owned by Purina) in 1985 (21 yrs old). My mom worked as an accountant there and got me the job on one of the labeling machines. I got burned by live steam once and OMG that hurt... I had to be transported to the hospital for 2nd degree burns! Good times... 😂👍
Breath holding technique is impressive. Lol. First time I went through that as a kid was on our way to Aoa. Talk about sensory overload! Have good friends from Vatia, what a great place. Tidepools were awesome.
You all are so awesome! You have taken us to places we have never been to, or knew about. Thank you so much for giving me something to look forward to. Fa’afetai tele lava!!
great videos! enjoy them very much. beautiful family and enjoy your adventures, as a local, I'n embarrased to admit I haven't been to alot of the places you've been to.
🌺🌺💕💯#Vatia That's our village!!! Where My Ancestor's are from. Village of Vatia #AmericaSamoa That Hill going up used to be rough back then to go up!!! Lol, #1960s
Thank you for showing our Vatia Tide Pools!!! Good to see all that. It makes me missing my beautiful village! Hope to show my whole village next time. When I left home, sand was all over my village. But now, it's a different story!🌺😎🌺
You should check out our video about hiking the Tuafanua Trail for a better view of Vatia. But don’t worry, we’ll be back to Vatia and show more of it again ❤️ ua-cam.com/video/GOrDF-xaPa8/v-deo.html
Thank you so much. I was watching all those videos already from UA-cam!!! See if your family can show the Poloa Village where that little Beach part which closer to the Elementary School... So much memories there. There might a big difference from then! Fa'afetai Lava
I loved you guys videos. Brings back so many memories of my childhood. It's been 50 years since I left. Still beautiful as I remember.. Thank you AmFam..❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰
Love that your family is always out having fun and enjoying different places on your island together as a family. That's a lot of love-good job Nate & Melinda...take care and GB! Much alofa's from O'side, Ca.
@@AmSamFamYou guys are doing a wonderful job as parents raising your kids and enjoying life together...I can only hope that more young families would do that...love you guys and GB!
Oh wow..I love your videos..and the adventures.. i saw you guys parked up there in Sauma. Next time you should hike the Waterfalls in the village... or visit Old Pago...There is more Vatia can offer...
Oh, for sure!! We love Vatia ❤️ We’ve hiked the Mount Alava Adventure Trail, Tuafanua Trail, and the one out to the point. We’ve seen a waterfall from the road, but didn’t realize there was a trail back to it. We’d love to! We’d appreciate any other information you could give us about where to find the trailhead or old Pago or who to talk to. Thanks 😊
So I held my breath too, then I realized that you might have sped up the clip. I too would try to hold my breath when driving past the canneries. Thanks 🙏🏾 for sharing all the amazing adventures as I reminisce growing up on Tutuila. Looking forward to seeing you go LIVE tomorrow Tuesday 22Sep2020!! 🤩
Very cool! Holden went there on a field trip this past year, too. I’m glad to see the kids of the island getting opportunities to get out and explore the island too.
My favorite spot is at the Fagaalu waterfall. The trail is a little sketchy. I'd say a 60 foot drop off after you pass the first pool. When you reach the main pool (2nd) it just feels peaceful being shaded by the overlying brances above. The noise of the waterfall cancels everything out. Ive heard village rumors that there are more than 8 pools above more beautiful than the others, and only a handful of climbers have ever reached the hidden pools.
Yes! We just went to the 2nd pool at Faga’alu Falls, watch for our video coming out next week. After going, someone told me about the other falls above there. They did say the trail really isn’t kid friendly, so I think we’ll get a babysitter one Saturday and make a date of it.
@@AmSamFam I cant wait till the next upload! Lol many memories. Are there still any giant logs in the 2nd pool? I know it must be pouring rain down there. Anyways Please stay safe if you both plan on taking the adventure
We love Australia! We’ve spend some time between Sydney and Brisbane, but haven’t made it to Melbourne yet. We hear that it’s the most artsy and most family friendly city in Australia. We’ll be planning a trip in the near future to confirm.
They’re Reebok. I’ve had them for years and years and the elastic on the inner lining is finally giving out. I’ve tried finding the exact ones on-line and haven’t been able to. So if you find some, let me know 🤙
@@AmSamFam I have two pair of The North Face Flash Dry running shorts that I LOVE and are very similar. I've had mine for years and years, too. Just did a quick search and can't find them either... :(

We paddled out to pola island and got on it the waters were really deep on the west side scary.
Thanks for this video and love it ❤️ I haven’t seen that road since 1989
Has it changed much? It still seems pretty wild 😄
