From what I've learned on NASCAR engines. The oil needs to be running temp when the car is fired up. And the oil pump primed so that all the hot oil is circulated. Otherwise you're just ducking up the engine
@@drivewaystar6485 no. What they do is that roll cart that stays near the car before the race? That's the oil heater for the tank behind the driver. They have belt driven oil pumps that can be spun with a drill to prime the system when you slide the belt off it.

@@corymcdermott5096 If it's an original Dale Earnhardt Lumina, it shouldn't have boom tubes. As far as I know, the 1995 #4 Kodak Lumina is the only one that originally had boom tubes since it was the first to use them and the team paid to exclusively run them that season to get an edge on the competition.
Also cause is tuned to run steady at 160mph+, that's a long way from idle! Can't really have both. It spends most of its time goin fast, really only goes slow up to the line, to the pits and if you're Dale, to the winners circle.

Usually 2 inch headers collected into a 4 inch tube with a X pipe then to each side, now it's the same concept but with a H pipe to the right side.
I believe they were called "boom tube" exhausts. There was a company that made them for regular cars and show cars.
