I knew from your storytelling of the culture at the time of Jack The Ripper that you are an EXCELLENT historical researcher. No one else compares! Please do the Spanish flu epidemic in the 1900s in America and the rest of the world next :) my great grandmother lost half her siblings and nearly died herself. Or the Great Chicago Fire of 1871
Oo the Spanish flu would be a great one! The global impact was just catastrophic. It's kinda hard for us to grasp the scale of it. And from my understanding it didn't even start in Spain, they were just one of the first countries to report on it on a significant scale.
when you described it, all I pictured is that guy standing there in the middle of the commotion journaling about his night while everyone is running around losing their shit over the fire
I'd love to see something on Russian history-I find the story of the Romanov's and the revolution absolutely fascinating! Loving these History videos Georgia-you speak my language!
i know this is a bit different but i would love like a “history on....” as in, like history on old iconic books such as “alice in wonderland” or “peter pan” which actually have darker meanings behind them. or just history behind nursery rhymes, the story behind them. alsooo a possible video on the assassination of franz ferdinand which broke out into ww1. i could go on & on about how many history videos i want but that’s just because im a huuuge history junkie but i know you have a life so i won’t pressure u too much 😂😂
Georgia - your research is just incredible and I love how much detail you put into your videos. The way your videos flow too - people think it’s easy, but the way you flow the timeline of these stories is a true talent. You deserve so much success on your channel. I’d also like to add that I love how frequent you upload, it’s nice to have something to learn and to look forward to every week. Thank you for being you and please keep it up ❤️
This fire always reminds me of the earthquake followed by a big fire that happen in Lisbon, Portugal in 1755. Maybe one day you can make a video about it too!
Amazing! Both the plague and the great fire are events that have always fascinated. Great video as always! You always get me through my long work days in the UES 😩😘
the picture at 0:57 brought back a memory from the movie Interview With The Vampire omfg this is when they were leaving London after getting that little girl who’s mom died of the plague. holy freaking- wow.
I remember briefly learning about this in my history class in high school. But to think that so many centuries worth of history were wiped from a single city in one blow...oof...that hurts. :(
Talk about timing! I teach ESL in South America and just three days ago I tutored a student who had to do a project for his English class about the Great Fire of London. I wish his English was advanced enough to understand this video, because I'd send it to him (he's only at a A1 level sooooo).
Well done for labelling this as AD. So many creators on here somehow think that this disclosure doesn’t apply to them. Love the video, love all your videos 🖤
All I can say is Bravo!!! You are a magnificent story teller! I would be interested to know when/how the true cause for the fire was finally acknowledged and if the poor wrongfully accused man was vindicated. The destruction and loss from the fire is unfathomable. I would like to think that only 6 unfortunate people died but, sadly, the number is likely significantly higher. The resilience of the survivors and their commitment to rebuild the great city of London is remarkable! Cannot wait for your next historical feature! Hugs from North Carolina USA!
Love hearing about this time in London after my mum showed me our family tree dating back to 1660s where my great relative was Samuel Pepys scrivener. “blame the french” how very British 🤣🤣 Also a video about the doctor who smuggled children out of concentration camps in her bag during ww2 may be an interesting one
I found this really interesting. I remember learning about this at school but it was nice to have the refreshment. I love the historical topics!🥰 I know it sounds bizarre but I am fascinated with learning about Henry 8th and all his wives I'd definitely watch a video on that 😂
You do sponsored content so well, always on videos that cover topics that aren’t too personal for any victims and always selected to be so on brand and what your audience likes . I love seeing companies work with you and I hope they continue because you’re probably one of if not the best person who doesn’t bullshit about products and companies xx
This is a woman I would Magellan and chill with... literally just eat popcorn and watch awesome documentaries. Love your videos and appreciate the work you put in!
I just wanted to tell you that your longer videos are my favorite to put on while I’m getting ready or cleaning so I can learn while my hands are busy. Your voice is pleasant and your videos are so full of information, that I don’t get sick of listening to your videos for long periods or one after the other. 💜
I love the historical series! I loved learning about the great fire of London at school. I remember writing our own Samuel Pepys diaries and since then I’ve been hooked. You’re incredible!
Hi Georgia. I've really enjoyed this. I think a really good topic to cover would the Irish Famine. I made friends with a girl from Manchester who knew nothing about it and so many English people have no idea what role Great Britain played in it back then. It certainly explains why us Irish are very protective over our potatoes lol! Another one would be Ireland's 1916 rising and gaining independence. I know it doesn't shine a particularly good light on the English but I think an amazing outcome was the Queen's first visit to Ireland in 2011. Basically, the Irish/English relationship is still making history!
This series is fantastic. You’re an amazing storyteller, you’re well-researched, and enjoyable to listen to. I love learning about history and true crime from you ❤️
Okay, I love this style of videos as well! BTW, I believe the king fleeing the city when the plague broke out, was an ordinary thing that monarchs did in case they caught the illness as well
Thanks Georgia! I really enjoy these history video you do! I'm a fan of documentaries as well and your videos are so interesting, so much detail!...Please! Keep these coming!
Yes!! I love these videos so much; your history series is so interesting and educational. I've been telling everybody I know about how wild the plague was since the last ep lol
Jeffery R Macdonald Family Murders! It was a lot of controversy in America in the 70s, and it’s a very weird case, i’d love to see you cover it! I haven’t found any videos on here about it
I live in the uk. I’ve lived her 18 years and I actually didn’t know about this - of course I heard of it slightly but no facts - love this series it’s unreal xx
I love these history videos. I know this story quite will from school as well but I loved your telling of it. However I didnt get this in my sub box, i saw it on your instagram
I’m from Australia, when I was 10 we had to do an assignment on either a man made or natural disaster. I chose the London fire. So interesting! And everyone else was so intrigued with it too.
When I used to write adventure stories as a kid I’d always write my main character as Samuel peeps! I never knew where I got it from until this! Mind blown!!
Loved this video Georgia! I’m really enjoying your history series so far, can’t wait for the next video! :) I recently went to the Museum of London and they have some really interesting bits about the Great Fire that I think you would find interesting! Have you been? x
Honestly, I'd love to hear her talk about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. I'm more of a math guy myself, but I always loved to learn more about that in history class. Such a good history story teller, I think it would be interesting (especially from a non-American)
I was obsessed with the Fire of London as a child. My parents took me to Pudding Lane as a child to see where it started. My little brother cried the whole time and ruined the experience. We had to leave to find food for him and I hated him for years 😂. I finally went back at age 39 to see it again. No crying involved.
I first learned about the Great Fire of London through the same three-part documentary mentioned at the beginning. I didn't know that St Paul's had been destroyed before but after hearing it was covered by wooden scaffolding I thought "Ah, that changes things". When Notre Dame caught fire last year I looked at the scaffolding surrounding it and immediately thought: "It's St Paul's all over again".
Can you do a video on the Donner party? I dont know if that is a historical event they talk about in the UK, but it's a very sad, creepy, tragic example of what life was like for early American settlers. I LOVE your new history series! You are such a great storyteller. ❤
I knew from your storytelling of the culture at the time of Jack The Ripper that you are an EXCELLENT historical researcher. No one else compares! @@RealElongatedMuskrat now its pretty easy to grasp the scale of it.
SALEM 👏🏻 WITCH 👏🏻 TRIALS 👏🏻
Yes!!!!
Omg yes please!
Good idea!
Leanne MacPherson YES 👏🏽 YES 👏🏽 YES 👏🏽
when you described it, all I pictured is that guy standing there in the middle of the commotion journaling about his night while everyone is running around losing their shit over the fire

Me too! Russian history is so fascinating.
I remember how ecstatic I was when I found out that the Disney movie "Anastasia" is based/was influenced on/by the "disappearence" of the romanovs
Samuel Pepes saving his cheese and wine is such a mood
And sending his diary away from the city before his wife 😂
I didn't know how much I would like this series when you first mentioned it yet here I am, LOVING this content. I love my new history teacher
I am thinking salem witch trials, the spanish flu epidemic, and the chicago fire would be good history videos!
i know this is a bit different but i would love like a “history on....” as in, like history on old iconic books such as “alice in wonderland” or “peter pan” which actually have darker meanings behind them. or just history behind nursery rhymes, the story behind them. alsooo a possible video on the assassination of franz ferdinand which broke out into ww1. i could go on & on about how many history videos i want but that’s just because im a huuuge history junkie but i know you have a life so i won’t pressure u too much 😂😂

Imagine being the guy that started the great fire of London 😅
I hated history in school.... yet, I LOVE your history series! ❤️❤️❤️

I’m sure more people died than 6. I mean, I have asthma and I know for sure the smoke would’ve taken me out alone.
Same, girl! I'm wheezing thinking about it!
There may have been more, but only 6 were recorded
Love hearing about this time in London after my mum showed me our family tree dating back to 1660s where my great relative was Samuel Pepys scrivener.
“blame the french” how very British 🤣🤣
