Thanks again for the excellent videos. Suggestion, the sheet about different data elements showing started at 2:50, if you can make the DE2, DE35, and DE45 all show the same card number, it might help.
ISO8583 as a format is applicable for all type of transactions (Mag, EMV Contact, EMV Contactless or eCommerce). There are some specific DEs like DE55, which are applicable for EMV only.
Great Great Videos and Channel! A question about "Currency & Amounts" slide Does settlement amount mean funds to be transferred from acquirer to issuer as you wrote or vice versa? Kindly explain to me because my understanding is that the issuer debits the money from cardholder and transfers amounts to acquirer.
Hi Hamid, Settlement amount specifies the funds exchanged between Issuer and Acquirer. Cardholder Billing Amount field (DE5) usually consists the amount to be billed to the customer. Generally both would be same, if the Issuer chooses the same currency to settle. Say a INR Issuer (Indian Rupee) would want to bill the customer and settle with the Schemes (to Acquirer) in same INR (Indian Rupee). However if the Issuer chooses different currencies, then these amounts would be different. Hope it clarifies. Thanks
@@LearnPayments thanks much. This is noted. I understand this mainly answers my question with the fact that issuer transfer amounts to acquirer (through schemes). Thanks.
