Just bought it, have put on around 500 miles so far. This thing is freaking AMAZING!!!!! It is definitely a different kind of bike, and I LOVE it!!
When I bought it 9,713, now has 13,870. Not 1 problem, had the 10k service done and the race ecm remapped, gets right around 50mpg on average!
$2,000.00 cash, wow what a steal !!
I just bought mine, back in February 2013. She is a 2009, I love the Ulysses, I had a Triumph Tiger 800, I wasn't crazy about the sound of the whinny motor.. Enjoy !!
Yeah, I negotiate for a living and don't pay asking price for any large ticket item. Once he told his dilemma, I went for it. I did my final negotiations right in front of the bank teller. She kept rolling her eyes, I saved major bucks!
XB12X is the best "Harley" ever made. I've got a 2007 Barricade Orange and i sell H-D's and BMW's. Lighter weight than all Harleys and the BMW GS, out handles them all, and you can stand it on either wheel! It's my 3rd Buell, I wish I had two of them LOL. If you're averaging 50 mpg yoy need to twist that right grip more. Only advantage the GS has is gas tank size. Ride safe!!
Man way to go!!!! I was looking in California for that exact year for years and nothing, ended up getting a 92' dr650 for 1,800 :/ The is the exact set up I was wanting to lay on it, and colors and everything hahah. Please continue to update. This is my dream bike still. Being 6'4'' and 230lbs, Like you said "it is a MAN'S Bike!!"Still looking for that dream deal like you got for my Uly.
Just bought my '06 for a similar asking price. Couldn't get him below 4500 but it came with all the hard cases and some other extras he's added including the taller smoked windscreen and a newer factory saddle. 9,500 miles on this thing. I'm as stoked as you were!
Wow, I can't believe you talked the guy down to $2,000. Incredible deal!
Wow! You really got a hell of a deal. A year ago I was about a signature to get one 06 yellow with the two side factory bags for $6000. But my wife got me off it.
I'm a beginner driver and have been wondering around BMW's, KTM's, Triumph on newer models with a bit of more safety options, but for twice the price.
When you're ready to sell; send me a message I'll might be able to man up and buy it frim you.
Beautiful bike.
That is a hell of a steal! You enjoy that! and safe travels.
Really happy for you. I got one after my divorce ; ) - my first bike. Like you, I've learned he hard way and I've done my share of wheelies lol but that's how I learn. Keep us updated and if ever on the east coast, let me know. We'll go ride overhear!!!.
He had it listed for $4900 and he took 2k for it?! WOW!
I'm about to pick up a '08 25th Anniversary Edition, listed for $2500, I'm gonna offer him 23.
I have an XB9 and I've been longing for a nice Uly
Poor man's Hypermotard, but it's more dependable lol
Love the Ulysses. Considering one myself.
Fantastic bike! I've got a black 06 Uly with the race computer, pipe & K&N. Otherwise it's stock. Oh, I'm a girl. We'll split the difference & say that it's "mostly" a man's bike. ;)
Safe riding!
man i love this bike
Are you still riding this ULY?
Man, you're killing me...$2K!
So when do we get to see some videos of her on some twisties?
Sounds like our set-up is almot identical, Drummer, K&N, race module, comfort kit. I put some Aprilia/800GS mirrors on mine, PIAA 510's, taller XT windshield, and Buell's big bag set. I've gotten 53mpg once or twice but I ride it like I stole it and i average about 38mpg. Got my 1st Buell when my FZR1000 was stolen.
Here's a Buell ride: www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170791
Yeah my average for a trip with panniers and the dog is 50mpg. But when I go canyon carving I get 35mpg at best. Hey I have little or no chicken strips on those tires! :-)
How many miles?
"It's not a Harley tranny" because the drive is on the right side. This guy doesn't know much about Harleys.
+2manysecrets
Ha ha ha this is a sportster motor with some big changes both inside and out. Sporsters are right side drive by the way :)
No way your belt will do 50-60K miles. H-D marketing bullshit.
Yeah, I have a new one in my spares kit just in case.
My 1st one did 12K miles. If you fit a Free Spirits belt tensioner you will get more. Additionally you'll take the pressure off the rear wheel bearings, and more crucially, the gearbox output shaft.
Great bikes, aren't they!
Uly Belts... My first one I took off for a spare at 34 tho ( no cracks etc.) the second one has just clocked 72tho (38tho.) ... . Can I ask why everyone just wears their Belts on one side and don't rotate every 10tho like I do? jimonabuell Outback Aus.
