Wow, another great daily vlog. Absolutely no shame Izzy in not standing on that boulder, my legs were shaking just watching Tom do it. You did so well just doing the walk clinging on to those chains!! To be honest I would have been terrified just doing the drive up to the start!! Norway looks incredible, hope you enjoy the rest of your trip😀
I was there some years ago and I admit not having the courage to enter the boulder. Wec also saw the base jumpers in action. In any case, Kjerag is unbelievable.
I’m not being preachy but a pair of decent walking boots would be a great idea , just to help prevent a sprained ankle when you’re miles from help and it’s always great to take them off after a long hike ! Glad you were rewarded with the sun.
I have been to Kjerag many times over the years. I stood on Bolton once, thinking that, OK, I should just get that out of the way. There's so much more interesting and fun, and beautiful, about the hike than that silly rock. Just skip it and enjoy the view. I'm impressed that you did the hike so early. I always go later in July and August.
So real, so as it is. Authentic is the word I am looking for, Tom you are a true warrior for testing the boulder glue! Izzy your fear is unbderstandable I did the Annapurna circuit some years ago and there were drop-offs that put my fear of heights into the pit of my stomach. Wire and wooden bridges crossing 300-foot ravines with a column of donkeys then deciding to cross from the opposite side as you were approaching the halfway point!! Really enjoyed this video you made us feel part of the day.
You are so precious Izzy. I love your perspectives and just the fun you bring us along with you and Tom. I hope you always stay this sweet. Keep on shopping too at shops that bring and share things from good to more. You are so sweet.
Oh Izzy I felt for you…..because my arse was twitching watching it! That feeling of ‘what if’ is something to overcome. Well Done Tom 👏🏻. Impressive. Another one for the bucket list ticked off. Keep up your hard work guys. Enjoying this series. 👊🏻
Wow what beautiful scenery. For someone who suffers from vertigo I think it’s amazing that you climb anything higher that a flight of stairs, so well done for even considering standing on that rock. I’ve been working my way through your adventures and it’s really enjoyable while also watching these latest daily vlogs, definitely a highlight of my day.
As a norwegian I couldn't even stomach watching him on the boulder. Props to him, but also good on you Isabel for literally standing your ground. Would have done the same :)
May 1 2023: Very good discussing mental health and to make all aware. In the military I would tell my soldiers that it takes someone with so much courage to recognize this. To not think what someone thinks of you it is you that is a priority. Oh my the road is windy and weather is as always cold. The hike up had the rope to assist. Very good with the advice of whether or not someone should challenge this. What a view even through the mist.
Wow, that's Norway from it's best side. I once was down to Lysebotn, realizing I was running out of fuel. A very gentle Norwegian helped me out - God bless him - so I could make the journey back to my hytta in Setesdalen. Just like you I went down to Lysebotn in the clouds and when I went up again, the sky broke up and I had one of the most beautiful sunsets ever. I remember every curve of the road, but I didn't make the way to Keragbolten. Maybe next time... I appreciate your journey, have a great trip and please more footage like this :-) All the best for you!
Izzy, you are an absolute star for doing any of that. Well done!! I don’t think I could get on that boulder either…felt sick watching that part, Tom! You have had such amazing adventures but that day must rank right up there with the best? I honestly feel big budget, major TV company travel programmes are going to seem so anodyne and utterly boring in future. There is an immediacy and present feeling in these and loads of us here have followed you for a while, so feel some sense of a connection. One of your very best, I think. Thank you and see you tomorrow!
Bei uns war es trockenes Wetter. Hätte mich bei Regen vermutlich nicht getraut... diese glatten steilen Felsen. Gut dass beide heil unten angekommen sind
Hi,well done, what a bucket list achievement. so proud of you Issy, being so open about tackling your anxiety and fears. what an intro to the wild open beauty of Norway xx
Your vids are so natural no falseness. Well done both of you. Peeked through fingers when Tom was on the rock. 😮 I’m with you Izzy, just couldn’t have done that. 👏
If I'm not mistaken, those stone steps were laid by hired sherpas from Nepal, and they were well-paid for the work. But some tourists take slabs as "souvenirs", thus ruining the stairs...
Wow !! Well done Izzy, for even getting up there. I too ,suffer really badly with vertigo . I was getting sweaty hands watching Tom on that boulder 😱😱🤘
Pre-disclaimer, not a rant, just sharing a POV from a ton of time in the mountains! I think the thing with the boots is, as much as they can do it yes, victorian explorers won't be calling on other people's resources (mountain rescue eg) if they f**k up by not quite being prepared. Those boots slip off so easily at the wrong angle, and those are some high consequence slips 😬. Just make a note to get yourselves some Meindl's, Hanwags or something solid, they'll last you forever and you'll have a hell of a nicer time too!
I took initiative and went up there with a few friends some years ago. I am not particulary afraid of hights, but when I got up to the top and looked over the cliffs I decided then and there that: "NOPE! I am not going out on that boulder!" Two of my friends did, and took a picture. I was worried sick to my stomack about them falling down. It still gives me the creeps to think back on it. If anything had happened I wonder if their families would have ever forgiven me for having dragged them up there in the first place. Other than that it was an amazing experience!
Hi Iz - don't feel bad about not climbing onto that rock - it was ABSOLUTELY the right thing to do. I was so scared watching Tom gingerly standing up and then almost jumping off 😱😱😱😱
This mountain"s and surrounding"s is were me and my dog spend my holiday"s every year. It's a fantastic playground, fishing in the small lake "s and hiking to the highest tops, I have been around the world a bit but this is only one Hour or two driving from my home. :)
Not to mention the abundance of fresh drinkable spring water, and mineral water from the taps in Bergen and most of the towns North and North west of Oslo,
Yeah well done Tom on getting on that rock 👏🏼 Next time Iz 👊🏼 The weather was too bad the days we were there to attempt the hike which probably saved me from having to decide wether I could do it as I'm like Izz re heights.. PLEASE PLEASE tell me you did Priekstollen on the other end of that Fjord (preachers pulpit) 🙏🏼🙏🏼 🚐💨 🇳🇴❤️
Done and dusted!!! ✅ Well done folks.. I like the way there was a small support rope you could use on the way up!! And Iz do not worry yourself about not going on theon big boulder.. feck that, I'd be no where near it either haha.. fair play Tom, fair play 👍👌
That's spectacular scenery! Thank you so much for doing the trek. Yea, I'm pretty ok with heights but I don't think I would have walked/crawled out on to that boulder.
I already know you do not fall off these cliffs. Your hiking has inspired me. I live in a hike friend place, New Mexico. I enjoy your videos. Bill Collins
It is not a loss to not go on the Kjeragbolt. I am a professional mountain guide in the Norwegian alps, a bit north of Kjerag, (Møre og Romsdal), and you would never get me out on that rock.
Ice cleats snow grips, that you can stretch over your boots, I always have them with me when hiking in the winter, Although I did not have any when hiking in the snow in Norway either
Hi Iz Tom what a pair you two are climbing up that mountain,Brave of you Tom to get on the wedged bolder well done ,bit expensive to park your camper £30 pounds they must be joking, well a great blog very interesting great views ,till next time take care keep yourself safe,John 🤓🥸🌹🌹👀💊💕🙏🤗😞
Good for Isabel trusting her feelings at that moment to not step out on the rock that day. Interesting that there is no record of any falls there. It is for the youth, because we all lose some balance as we age. How big is the flat area that you step on? Thanks for the interesting and beautiful videos.
Love watching your Vlogs, ye are both so positive & cheer me up. Keep up the great work & best wishes to you both on your journey. Keep safe ♥️ from Kilkenny Ireland
Great effort Issy. In some situations, stepping outside of your comfort zone is not the smartest move. I think you'll find when you come and visit Denmark, it's going to be much more your thing 😉
Didn't expect you to be in Norway so quickly. Wow, amazing scenery. As for that boulder wedged between the two rock faces, I'm with Isobel, couldn't have stood on it - so scary, and I don't like heights. Hats off too Tom. Thanks for another fantastic vlog. Stay safe. 💙🍺
Isabel, I really liked how you introduced your sponsor. That was authentic and well said. Not easy I know from own experience. Especially when you suppose your audience might not be interested. Actually I would consider this service for my company but I don‘t believe we have this in Germany. Btw. Norway is blowing my mind off.
Well done Tom for standing on the rock. Isabel, you have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, you wouldn't have got me to stand on that rock if you promised me the £184 mil lottery winnings, and I am completely serious. Just the vid clip from it made me feel sick and sweaty. Stay safe you two, and thank you for reminding me why I gave up abseiling!!
An amazing hike, well done. I can only imagine how good those views must have been, but if its any consolation, there is no way I would have stood on that boulder either! I got cold sweats just watching Tom do it from the comfort of my sofa (fair play Tom)! Looking forward to seeing the rest of Norway in your upcoming vlogs 🇳🇴😍
The number of rescues every year because if ill equipped tourists not realizing the dangers of the mountains and the sometimes rapidly deteriorating weather... There you go...
Great vlog, you two are really smashing your goal of a vlog a day, well done! We work on the mantra, once in a lifetime as often as you can, so give it a crack if you feel safe to do so. Thanks for sharing your adventures we are taking notes!
Actually going out onto the rock isn't too bad, as you face the rock wall. Its when you turn to go back that you are staring into the abyss and vertigo hits you with a hammer. Btw. just next to the Bolt itself is a good place for basejumping, and its just unreal when you see people voluntarily jumping off from there and landing a kilometer farther down.
Like 3 days ago. We have been advised by our Norwegian friends it is probably a bit early in the year to do trolltunga, hope it’s okay for you. Stay safe
Trolltunga trail information are recommending only doing it with snowshoes or skis right now. It would be doable on foot but will obviously take that much longer and it is already a long hike! Also the road up is closed for roadworks most of the day Monday to Friday until the 3rd of June, there is a window to get up around 10am but this isn't really early enough to do the hike and get back in time. I can highly recommend hiking out and camping near Trolltunga, and hike back the next day, no worries about timescales then and you miss the queues, but obviously you need some reasonable winter camping kit.
One thing I love about The Kjerags Bolt and the Pulpit Rock is that there's no security harnesses or fencing or anything that ruins the risk of braving the challenge. Nature can be relentless and we're not imposing our safety concerns on it. You wanna take a look? Go for it, at your own risk :D
I wouldn't go on that rock either.
Wow, another great daily vlog. Absolutely no shame Izzy in not standing on that boulder, my legs were shaking just watching Tom do it. You are both amazing positive and brave.I get positive vibes listening to you both. I have been at the boulder twice but not getting on it once.
Oh Izzy I felt for you…..because my arse was twitching watching it! That feeling of ‘what if’ is something to overcome. Well Done Tom 👏🏻. Impressive. Another one for the bucket list ticked off. Keep up your hard work guys. Enjoying this series. 👊🏻
A beautiful description of my reaction to watching it too ..

Amazing video, I can't even imagine looking at that boulder never mind standing on it. Fabulous scenery, well done on that difficult hike.

Fantastic me Lovelys.. Tanfastik what a hike ..Well done Safe Travels 🙏😊
Now that was an adventure!! You won't forget that one. That area is beautiful!!

Tom and Iz well done, Iz my stomach lurched when he went on it. You both did a super , super, super hike. Thank you for showing us your adventures.

The scenery all looks amazing in the video. It must be something else to be there. Another great vlog.
WHAT an amazing hike! And so brave with those heights, both of you!!! 👏👏👏
Wow guys that was just incredible. Fair play to Tom for standing on that boulder. I know just how Izzy felt, no way could I do that. Keep safe guys.
That rock was intense! Such incredible scenery and well done Iz for attempting such a trek despite your fears.
7:49 this is where the cover art for Dream Theater's a view from the top of the world album came from! I would love to go there, the album is amazing!
This mountain"s and surrounding"s is were me and my dog spend my holiday"s every year.

Never mind the rock. Thirty quid to park!
Welcome to Norway!

Errrr, I'd be with Iz saying that boulder was too high. Even the sight of Tom on it gave me wobbly legs. And I'm sitting down !!!!!
I already know you do not fall off these cliffs. Your hiking has inspired me. I live in a hike friend place, New Mexico. I enjoy your videos. Bill Collins
Amazing bill! This is so good to hear. Get out there and go hiking! 🏃♂️
Well done. Well done to both of you. It looks amazing.
i can really see why you wanted to go to Norway! it looks amazing! the camera doesn't show the scale of the drops and sheer scale of this place!
That valley at the beginning of the video is so cool 😎
You are opening my eyes to norway... wow thank you..
It is not a loss to not go on the Kjeragbolt. I am a professional mountain guide in the Norwegian alps, a bit north of Kjerag, (Møre og Romsdal), and you would never get me out on that rock.

Amazing vlog best yet well done 👏
You couldn't pay me enough to stand on that rock. Watching that made me feel sick, while I'm sat on the sofa.
Well done for doing that walk. It looked terrifying.
This is something that I really want to do! Looks fantastic! Well done 🙌🏼
Well done Izzy just for getting to the rock in a pair of Blundstones was immense effort, Tom don't blame you for not hanging around on it....
Nice to see a ptarmigan in the video. Well done.
What an epic hike, well done guys 👌
Well done guys that was amazing. 🇮🇪
Nice one - it looks awesome!
An amazing hike, well done. I can only imagine how good those views must have been, but if its any consolation, there is no way I would have stood on that boulder either! When did you do this hike? We are leaving tmrw for Trolltunga Hike, and hoping not to have same weather as you, cheers

Couldn’t agree more, in the uk there would be railing and harnesses.
Wow fair play Tom that looked insane. Don’t think I could do that 👏🏼
Looks amazing, high on the bucket list 😍
Unreal🤣don't look down😱
