Every time I hear this version I can't help but hear it as the theme song during the opening credits of a "James Bond" film.
It actually has been written as such, for the Tomorrow Never Dies movie. The original working title for the movie was Shatterhand, after the vilain. That s why the "glass shatters in my hand" lyric is also there
My thoughts exactly!
@@robertklein1497 Is there any reason why this hasn't been chosen for it tho? I think the Billie EIlish song just doesn't fit at all
DUUUUDEEE! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!!
I think the album version more, though. But this is a great version.
The entire album is filled with emotions. It's from the 2021 Death By Rock and Roll album, the first in over 4 years at the time, and the first after dealing with loss. The were opening for Soundgarden when Chris Cornell died, and less than a year later their producer and friend Kato Khandwala was killed in a motorcycle crash. She WAS 25 when she wrote the song.
Her voice is definitely one of a kind. I love that raspy sound when she hits the high notes as well ❤
I had VIP tickets for 98 RockFest in Tampa back in 2015, Pretty Reckless was the VIP area "unplugged" artist. Taylor was awesome! Looking like she just woke up wearing big assed Liz Taylor type sunglasses. She calmly walked in, slowly sat, and just started wailing out the vocals... incredible! NO effort at all, just WHAM!!! Then a few hours later when they actually hit the stage... HOLY CRAP!!!
She is awesome!! She isn't a gimmick of spoiled hollywood actress wants to play rockstar... she is Rock n Roll - and she didn't bank on her early fame to cash in - she 100% made it on her own with her Rock attitude, sexyness and raw tallent and lots of hard work.
love their acoustic "death by rock n roll", it was on their channel a couple years ago
She has an amazing voice and is very talented I love her
Absolutely love Taylor and Pretty Reckless, and this song (especially this version) just hits hard. So happy you did this video ❤
This is my favorite thing Taylor has done. The whole album is fantastic and worth a listen.
You mentioned low notes. Geoff Castilucci, "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold".
Gee what a surprise, reacting to "Pretty" Reckless.....lol......yeah she has a great Rock & Roll voice....the piano set a great ominous mood as well.....definitely a fangirl reaction, which is great when you just dont use superlatives, but explain why........for example the explanation of air when signing lower.....they do a killer acoustic version of "Death by Rock & Roll"
They are 'PRETTY' awesoooommeee hahaha
Dam, love that voice, Pretty Reckless being so pretty & breathy and those belts cut through!@~
I could see her doing a James Bond song for a future movie, that voice has that suspenseful quality to it.
Love this, should have been used for the James Bond 25th film title track
😍 Pretty Reckless... So cool!
Yes! So glad you reacted to the Pretty Reckless unplugged version... there are more like this:
"Only Love Can Save Me Now", and "Death By Rock And Roll"... perhaps some others
these unplugged versions are so much more raw and visceral. so good!
THIS is the Taylor I encourage my Granddaughters to follow. They also LOVE Larkin Poe, 1st Concert for them at 10 & 6, Halestorm, AC/DC. Their lullaby was Curtis Lowe even though I sound nothing like Ronnie but it was the only way they would go to sleep.
The thing about Taylor, you'll always anticipate her very own raspiness/growl. It's always mindblowing!
Oh and if deep vocals gets your mojo going... Tim Foust and Geoff Castellucci are your guys:
Check out: Misty Mountains - Peter Hollens feat. Tim Foust.... (Geoff also has a version)
Geoff Castellucci - House of the Rising Sun, Mircale of Sound - Valhalla Calling (acapella)... he's also part another acapella group called Voiceplay
You should listen to the unplugged version of her song Death by Rock and Roll.
This is such a great song, both this unplugged version and the full version, beautifully sung and it has such a James Bond feel about it.
Thank you for doing this video! Taylor is spectacular, especially here. Your ‘fan girl’ reaction is AWESOME!!! Very well done👏👏👏
If you want to hear a collaboration of female vocalist greatness, Maria Brink of In This Moment, Lzzy Hale, and Taylor Momsen here did an awesome cover of "We Will Rock You" together. Definitely 3 of the best current hard rock/metal female vocalists out there right now.
omg THIS!!!!
This can be on a Bond movie main theme song for sure. Excellent
I can see this as a number on a James Bond soundtrack!
Omg yay! My favorite band! Taylor is so amazing! Seeing them live someday is at the top of my bucket list 🤘
Nice Reaction! One of my favorite vocals to listen to is women singing in their lower register. Floor Jansen of Nightwish does it on the first couple of verses of some of their songs, but she's a Soprano and doesn't do it much. If you want another song where you can sink your "teeth" into the vocals, you must listen to Amy Lee of Evanescence singing the song Speak To Me. I think this is from their 2017 Album Synthesis, but Amy sings it without the band. The Live version is her playing piano with about a 30 piece Orchestra and her vocals mixed with the Orchestra are truly amazing! The video is "Amy Lee Speak to Me (Synthesis Live)"
Why do I desperately crave a colab for Taylor with Adele and/or Izzy Hale in the same breath when I hear this song. Just… the layers in her voice is inspiring and chilling at the same time. With all that lady power singer influence like Joplin and jet.
Been loving your reaction videos a lot Rachel! Keep up the amazing work! :)
On a side note as well, not sure if you had plans to react to any I Prevail? Seeing your reactions and how much you like metal i feel like Brians vocals along with I Prevail in general is right up your alley!
You can't go wrong with any of the songs in the Lifelines EP, mainly Scars, Lifelines, Alone, or their stellar Trauma / True Power Albums, songs like Hurricane, Let Me Bed Sad, I Don't Belong Here, Gasoline, Bow Down (from Trauma album) to Bad Things, There's Fear in Letting Go, Deep End, Doomed and Body Bag from True Power!
She's just like that other Taylor (swift) and what I mean is, their voices get better and better as they get older and with each album release. This remains my absolute fave Pretty Reckless song.
Beautiful Voice
Her voice is incredible.
I love it. To me it sounds like a really good bond theme. Really Love the whole album👍🏼🤟🏼
Mushroomhead - Qwerty
LOVE this band, my first tattoo was inspired by this song, so that should say how much i like this song.
Mushroomhead "We Are The Truth"!!!
❤❤❤
Rachel great job with your reaction and thoughts on the Unplug Version of 25 from TPR . My favorite song from Them is Just Tonight.
She was great , added to my at work playlist , recently added Wardruna-Helvegen as my alarm clock, and Dimash-Mahabbat Ber Magan to my sleeping playlist because this week I like songs about melancholy and magic
Saw TPR last year. Absolutely great show. My wife refers to them as The Cindy Lou Whos.
Cindy Loo Who sure did grow up to be a beautiful woman.
Oh, Yes!
I highly recommend this Icelandic band called Agent Fresco. Unique sound and great singer! I would go for the song “See Hell” - it’s amazing and I’m sure you’ll like it a lot!
mushroomhead - we are the truth
Muach❤
I love Taylor, Momsen I still can’t get over the fact that she was Cindy Lou, who. But yeah, I missed out on the show. I wanted to go to with them and hail storm. That would’ve been a good one. I hope I get to see them before they end which I’m not saying they are ending but I want to see them before they do.
that was a fuckin cool performance
#facts

Vibe ost 007
Taylor is incredible, lets fight
You might enjoy Violet Orlandi's cover of Disturbed's The Vengeful One.
One of the best
Taylor is one of singers who can be compared to the singers of old, just pure raw talent.
You should try the MTV Live Sessions version of zombie.
All I know about Taylor is that she was nearly Hannah Montana
Rachael please review the song by NF titled' How Could You Leave Us".
The Pretty Rachel
I would really like you to hear singing of finnish toumas touminen, from fall of the leafe band, any of the songs from fermina and onwards… maybe fermination smooth & fine. Can we pay money for reaction video?
Great reaction. The Pretty reckless is really not my piece of cake, but have to admit Taylor is talented.
You love deep vocals? Then Nightwish - Yours is an empty hope Wembley 2015 is your song. It is also a heavy banger.
you should react to Bring Me The Horizon live at the Royal Albert Hall! Metal with orchestra= perfection
If you want deeper vocals, it doesn't get much deeper than this :P ua-cam.com/video/EbxkOntz2SA/v-deo.html
This new generation just don’t know what good music is. I’m sorry because this band should be so much bigger than they are. She is such a great singer better than anyone would expect but yet they’re not as big as they should be, and I blame the new generation, because all they care about is rip off tracks, auto tune, and all that nonsense not true singers, and musicians
Try my dying bride the dreadful hours live version 🤘🤘
