Advance Australia Fair has decent lyrics (even though they contradict a lot of things the government does) but the tempo and rhythm are more like a funeral march, I don't associate it with "I'm proud to be Australian." I associate it more with "HOW MANY MORE F**KING SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES ARE WE GOING TO SIT THROUGH?! WHEN DO THEY END!?!?!?" I'm jealous of the countries with catchy anthems

In 1972, the local Ampol Service Station issued a Christmas club showbag for kids. The bag included a see through red 45rpm of “God Bless Australia”. The singer was Neil Williams A.K.A. The Jolly Swagman. I remember the crackly disk that was low quality but was quite moving. For some reason, it came to memory today, 52 years later. What a delight to hear it again after all these years but in good quality. (Love that bass!) It is a reminder of what Australia was, and what we have lost. May God bless Australia.
