Hey man, how scthat C90 been? I like them but I don’t. Something about them that just doesn’t jive with me. Can’t point it out. Electrical maybe?? Not sure
I probably spent about 8 hours cleaning the rats nest out of mine. The fuel cover door and air filter were PACKED all the way down into the throttle body. Mice only need a hole the size of a pencil to get through. But I had it stored outside with a bag of moth balls under my bike cover which was also inside a canvas garage. So moth balls definitely do not work. Not to mention it's hard to get rid of that smell. I heard Dryer sheets, Irish springs soap and peppermint oil work.
Bummer to to hear about your unfortunate situation, hopefully nothing was damaged by them. I have also heard about using dryer sheets but have not tried them yet. Thank you for watching and ride safe!
My bike stays outside and under cover year round, so I learned how to keep mice out...I use a combinatiin of Bounce Dryer sheets and cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil. Instead of spending a firtune on Peppermint Essential Oil, I use the larger bottle of McCormick peppermint oil found in the spice section at Walmart...it works great!
We have talked about getting some barn cats. I am allergic to cats, but if they stayed outside as a barn cat I think that would be okay. Thank you for the information!
Gonna have the bike ready for camping with Quady? I know it's hit or miss for some people with dryer sheets but it's my go to in my camper and and my old Dart and Power Wagon. I stuff um right on top of the engine. No mice after all these years. I use the block poison in the enclosed bait stations in the garage. My dogs don't have access to the garage so don't worry to much about getting into them.
Hopefully Quady and I can get a few trips in this year! I have heard of the dryer sheets just didn't think of using them I guess. I have some diy bait stations around with poison blocks I just don't like using the poison. I think that's what got the one mouse that I found by the bike the week before. And the day I did the video and opened the bike up I found another dead mouse not too far away from the bike, so I am assuming it found a poison block and that's what did it in. Thanks for watching and the ideas!
Hi Midwest family, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I have the same exact bike I have a 2005 C90, I bought it used and it was sitting in the rain for about a year it was sitting outside and it was raining or at the place where I bought it at a car dealer. It wasn't running so I had a towed out they got it running it's been running good but now that you showed the air cleaner, is that where the fuel injectors would be where the throttle body I was trying to look online how to change fuel injectors my bike's only got 5,300 miles on it that's nothing. It's an 05 C90 or VL 1500. Could you show how to check the injectors while you got the tank apart or the that area apart. Thank you Mike
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Thank you for watching and commenting, I have not messed with the injectors so I would have to do some research. I just record stuff as I work on my own stuff. I wouldn't think the injectors would need to be replaced with such low miles. I would start with some fuel system and injector cleaner and see how that works.
Mice and rats will eat wires and tubing. A corn byproduct is used to make them, so it is really tasty to the critters. Friend of mine just had $8000 worth of wires replaced in her Ford Truck......
Yes I have heard that, I'm not sure if they still use use the corn products hopefully not. Shortly after we moved here something chewed up some of the wires on the engine of my wife's car, that was no fun.
I have seen a few of your videos and you never ride anymore guess, you just needed a spot in your garage filled with a C-90. Ride mine about 350 miles a week. That's a lot less than when I was younger and rode my Harley. Wear your helmet and ride safe. Hopefully with God. Watch over that little man, they don't stay small long.
I definitely don't ride as much as I did when I first bought the bike. Going on evening rides kinda went away when we started having kids. I am still hoping to start putting more miles on it. Ride safe and keep the rubber down!

Hello, I read somewhere that steel wool in appropriate places like exhaust pipe muffler exit points is useful.
Thank you
Thank you that is definitely worth a try!

Thank you for the tip, I will have to give that a try!
Use moth balls to keep the mice away.
I will have to try that thank you!
Do you know if a 2005 suzuki c90 boulevard has a Radiator? Trying to see if our motorcycle needs coolant.
The c90 has an oil cooler on the front of the bike above the battery. It does NOT take engine coolant like a car.
No radiator! It's air cooled...🙄
Cats!!! You need to get some barn cats to eat the mice. I know you have a dog, so poisons are no good!!

Thank you for watching, ride safe!
You have a Suzuki key on a Harley Davidson key chain?!?!? If u have any reliability issues, that would be a good place to start with 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Yeah I have been told that before..... I bought it used from a Harley dealer and just never have taken it off.
We have cats on our farm and we have almost no mice or, rats.
We have talked about cats, I am allergic to them so that's one of the draw backs that keeps us from getting some.
