His Son's name IS, Yeshua. Most Jews see him as described in Isaiah Chapter 53, despised and scorned and rejected. He was pierced for our transgressions, he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Why is Tovia Singer so critical of Christians and the Bible but not Muslims and the Quran ? Either Muhammad was a prophet and the Quran true or it is NOT. If it is then Tovia Singer should say so. Or is he scared of Muslim violence ?
I, as a Muslim, has such a high regard for rabbi Tovia Singer. I must've listened for countless hours to his lectures. I have learned so much from him even though I differ from him on many other issues. Islam advocates very strongly to amiably agree to disagree on any specific subject matter, hence I will never personally ask him or any other rabbi or priest any questions, lest I make them feel awkward, but listen humbly and keenly to their perspectives. So, thanks to this podcast.

I am no philosopher by any measure, but I have, a very long time ago made peace with the fact that I can only measure my own degree of faith in contrast to another without being judgemental. Sort of measuring comfort with discomfort, sweet with bitter, negative with positive, etc etc. Each and every one of us are raised differently under very different circumstances, which has a direct bearing on our individual psyches. That's just the way the world works, by Divine Decree. I am fortunate enough and after much research come to hold all the prophets from Abraham, all the way down to David, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad,( peace upon them all), in the highest regard... @@hegagi839 The very reason or many reasons is that people wished so much after the Messiah in all their distress and hardships that they just gave into someone who seemed to be a special person, some proclaimed to be the Messiah or just suddenly appears like one. It was alos based in a lack of true knowledge of how to discern who is the right Moshiach.
@@hegagi839 - Not so many, in terms of actual history. Shabbatai Zvi fiasco happened centuries ago, and was a punishment. Mashiach will appear when God decides that it is time for him to be revealed. We in Israel feel that this could be very soon, in our days, but no one will set a date.

Regardless of what anyone wants to personally believe, the real issue is what does the text really say and who can tell you that? Over 10yrs ago I realized that Israel knew something about their text that the rest of the world doesn’t. I realized it because when reading the first half of the Xtian bible I realized that section’s message was that one day the world will come to know the Creator the same way Israel knows the Creator and not the other way around. One reading of the long dedication prayer over the first temple and you clearly see that, plus the countless times the prophets say it as well. To know what the text says you have to read it as it was originally meant to be read and understood. Not with personal or church dogmatic glasses. The word moshiach translated doesn’t mean messiah as it is understood today. It means anointed. Whoever the real leader of Israel will be the one to exercise judgment over the nations (see Isaiah 52:15- meaning the non-Israel nations of the time period being spoken off) along with other criteria being met, only then will he be considered anointed. Then he will be called by the modern understanding of messiah. But, more importantly, until after the destruction of the 2nd Temple and the people of Israel, including the Southern Kingdom, be dispersed across the four corners of the world, as Moses foretold, could the "messiah” be born. When it comes to the text, go to the source. Whether you accept the message or not, that’s a different matter altogether.

@billy jonas The jews seem to continually reaffirm that moses had written down all the stories taken place before his death to my knowledge. It is also written in the book of exodus that moses often settled disputes between his people, and that he would bring these questions to his God until his father in law came to him with a plan to make judges who, by moses' teachings, could settle lesser disputes. The 10 commandments are no doubt of incredible importance, however these alone cannot make a complete society such as the hebrew people would go on to build.
Jesus: raise the dead to life. Gave sight to the blind. Gave hearing to the deaf. Died on the cross in fulfillment of Isaiah 53. Was born in Bethlehem. He fulfilled 2 Samuel 7:12 about coming from the house of David. He fulfilled Isaiah 7:14 by being of virgin birth. If he was of a virgin birth, that means G-d was his father, and therefore, he was not from the House of David. Tribal lineage is strictly paternal. For better understanding of that concept, please see in the book of Numbers the events connected to the Daughters of Tzlafchad who wished to inherit their father's property. G-d instructed Moses to tell them that they may inherit the property, but once they got married, unless they were to marry within their tribe, the land would revert back to the tribe as not to be transferred from tribe to tribe. I'm a Kohen, which means my great, great, great etc. grandfather was Aharon the High Priest (Moses's brother). My son is a Kohen because I'm a Kohen. If I adopt a son, as much as I would love him like any other my children, he would not be a Kohen, since this is directly passed by biological father. If Jesus was born of a virgin birth, then his status, though 100% Jewish (from a Jewish mother), but tribal lineage would be considered more like that of a convert or someone adopted from a non-Jew, and would not be considered as part of any of the 12 tribes. Yes, I see Isaiah 53 already being fulfilled. However, as per the text, it is not the Jewish people talking, it is the Kings of the world and the Nations of the world speaking about the Suffering servant... The same suffering servant as in the other three suffering servant story. My great grandparents were murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust. The Germans realize what they did and at least most of them are horrified for their sins during the Holocaust and how G-d's servant (The Jews...) suffered because of their sins. If you want to see Jesus or any other messiah in Isaiah 53 to strengthen your faith, that's fine. However, the last two verses in Isaiah 52 clearly state who is talking. Isaiah 7:14 says absolutely nothing about a virgin birth. The original Hebrew word אלמה means young woman-"The young woman is pregnant and will give birth to a son, and she will name him 'G-d is with us.(Imanu El)'" Exact translation from the Hebrew text. I'm also eagerly awaiting the arrival of the mashiach, but he must fit the Jewish Bible's qualifications. But what can I say, like Jesus, I'm a follower of Rabbinic Judaism.

I am selling sheep, special sheep.” The farmer replies: “I am a farmer, like my father and his father and I can tell you from a lifelong experience these are pigs, just look at the ears and the snout and listen to the sound they make. If indeed "G-d was his father"...that's would then be his only paternal lineage. Not from the "branch of Jesse." That ends everything. There would be no other. Look, If he "returns" and fulfills all the prophesies of what the Mashiach is supposed to do, then we have something to talk about. When the Mashiach arrives, we will all know it, it will be obvious, and we won't have to rely on blind faith. I have no reason to look at the Christian Bible, because Jesus doesn't make it past the starting gate (ie: the Jewish Bible). That ends the conversation for any Jewish person. That is the reason for 2,000 years almost no Jews have accepted Jesus. You can't use Christian Bible quotes as proof the original Jewish Bible means what the Christian Bible says...That's like saying Beethoven would have never written his 5th symphony if it weren't for the Beatles influence. In order for Jesus to be the Mashiach: 1) He needs to be alive 2)100% human; 0% G-d 3) He needs to be a biological male descendant of David and Solomon 4) he cannot be from Jechonia whose descendants were cut off from the royal lineage 5) He needs to fulfill the prophesies (not ambiguous mistranslations/out of context. I know you're excited and passionate about your belief in Jesus, but you also have to accept that there are those who do not and will not share that enthusiasm. You need to accept me as a Torah observant Jew, in accordance with G-d's command and the promise that this law will be an eternal covenant. G-d doesn't lie. Christian religion requires the belief in Jesus/Yeshua. The Jewish religion prohibits someone "dying for your sins," elevating a human to divine status, and again, there is nothing in the prophets to support a mashiach dying and coming back to finish the job.

To respond to some of your points: There is no way the Messiah can be merely human. Here are the biblical reasons: 1. God says we are not to put our trust in man, but in God alone. In fact, God warns that its a curse for us to put our trust in man or to make flesh our arm. 2. Every single one of us has sinned and fallen short. No exceptions. The wages of sin is death. 3. Isaiah says ALL of our works are as filthy rags. 4. All throughout the scriptures it is always God who saves. Always. 5. The suffering servant cannot be Israel for all the reasons listed above . The context also doesn't make sense. God says He will send his servant to turn Jacob back to himself. It is illogical to think that Jacob would be turning itself back to the Father. 6. Isaiah says God's suffering servant is righteous (this automatically disqualifies any mere human, again for the reasons cited above) 7. The Messiah would be born of a virgin. Again, this is impossible for man to achieve. 8. Yeshua the Messiah could only keep the law perfectly because he was fully God and fully man. He alone is sinless, because God alone is righteous. 9. The Messiah came the first time to save us from our sins. As the Torah states, without the shedding of blood, no sins can be forgiven. Yeshua made atonement for all of our sins by shedding his Holy, perfect blood to make atonement. The lamb was always a picture of Christ's innocence and perfection- without spot or blemish. He was sacrificed on Passover, buried the next day on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and he rose from the dead three days later on the Feast of First Fruits, proving he has power over death, hell and the grave. 50 days later the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Feast of Weeks. Yeshua is your Messiah and he loves you dearly. But you must believe the testimony God gave of his Son as the Savior of mankind. He is the mediator of the New Covenant prophesied in Jeremiah.

Interestingly , Muslims believes that the Tanakh was corrupted and can never be a truthful source. Adding to that, in Islam , Jesus is THE Messiah and from a virgin birth .

Tovia has the right to deny or reject the Messiah just as his ancestors did, but as a rabbi IF he is misleading and deceiving his listeners surely his reward in hell will be greatly multiplied.

Tanak wasn’t written out of a vacuum. 11q13 of the Dead Sea Scrolls says that Melchizedek was a leader of angels in the last days. The Dead Sea Scrolls are much later but they convey the ideas that come from earlier texts. Deuteronomy 3 says that a giant’s bed of iron matches the same dimensions as Marduk, the deity of Mesopotamia.

the Talmud is not God-given and is even blasphemous in many regards, it is still a valuable historical document. Why is this important? For one thing, the Talmud sometimes contradicts present-day rabbinic assertions! For example, the New Testament (John 19:37; Rev. 1:7) regards Zechariah 12:10 as Messianic: “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him [Messiah] whom they [Israel] have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.” Against the Christian Messianic interpretation, Rabbi Gerald Sigal has written that the one pierced is actually the nation of Israel: “God cannot literally be pierced. The idea of piercing God expresses the fact that Israel stands in a very special relationship to God among all the nations of the earth. God identifies with His people to the degree that He takes part figuratively in the nation’s destiny. To attack (pierce) Israel is to attack God.” Yet the context of Zechariah 12:10 argues against Segal. As a result of this “piercing,” Israel mourns for her sin (Zech. 13:1). This would not at all have been likely if Israel had been the victim of the piercing. Besides, the Talmud doesn’t affirm Segal’s interpretation. Instead, it acknowledges that Zechariah might be prophesying about the death of Messiah: And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart [Zech. 12:12]… What is the cause of the mourning mentioned in the last cited verse? - R. Dosa and the Rabbis differ on the point. One explained, The cause is the slaying of Messiah the son of Joseph, and the other explained, The cause is the slaying of the Evil Inclination. It is well according to him who explains that the cause is the slaying of Messiah the son of Joseph, since that well agrees with the Scriptural verse, And they shall look upon me because they have thrust him through, and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for his only son. (Sukkah 52A5) This same Talmudic commentary further contradicts the modern rabbis by acknowledging the possibility of two separate Messiahs - the first would come humbly and die; the second would set up an everlasting kingdom. This is important because the modern rabbis reject the Christian narrative of two Messianic comings, claiming instead that when the Messiah initially comes, there will be peace and an everlasting kingdom. But when Jesus came, there was neither. We find that modern rabbis conveniently ignore much Talmudic thought. The late Hebraic scholar turned Christian, Rachmiel Frydland, pointed out that not only do some Talmud rabbis perceive two distinct portraits of the Messiah within Scripture, “a second explanation of the seemingly contradictory portrayals of Messiah as one both humiliated and exalted appears elsewhere in the Talmud”: “[Rabbi] Alexandri said that [Rabbi] Joshua bar Levi combined the two paradoxical passages; the one that says, ‘Behold, one like the Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven’ (Dan. 7:13; showing Messiah’s glory) and the other verse that says, ‘poor and riding upon a donkey’ (Zech. 9:9; showing Messiah’s humility)” (Sanhedrin 98A).

One of the problems with Christianity is that most Christian Sunday sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen’s sermons resemble improved motivational speaker Tony Robbins type lectures on how to be successful in life. Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute other Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament that supports Christianity’s adulterous, idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success. The reason the Old Testament is so important is that the Old Testament is more or less a history book of the human race. And if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes you have made in the past. The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame. -

Tovia, I agree with you that Christianity doesn't view the messiah as Jews (Judaism) does. Christianity focuses on the messiah being the Savior from our sins. Which Judaism does not view the messiah as being for that purpose. The messiah in Judaism focuses on him being the King of Israel. Judaism though has set itself up to believe in someone else (other than Jesus), who will be anointed the King of Israel - the Antichrist, instead of and against Jesus, the rightful King of Israel. In 1Thessalonians5, the world at that time saying "peace and safety" will be because it will think it has entered the messianic age. Parts of the prophecy your reference in the Tanach that Jesus did not fulfill in his first coming, will be fulfilled at His Second coming. Jews do not believe that Jesus is God come in the flesh... but read Ezekiel 39:22. Ezekiel 39:21-29 is Jesus Himself speaking in the text, having returned to this earth. The implication is that Jews currently do not believe that Jesus is the Lord their God - prior to then in Ezekiel 39:22. 22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward. Your messiah (thought-to-be) will the little horn person leader of the EU, who following Gog/Magog, will be the prince who shall come, and then perceived to be the messiah is the anointed King of Israel. He will have the law read to the nation of Israel from the temple mount - playing out the messiah role - in the manner described by Moses in Deuteronomy 31:9-13. We can both agree that the person has to be a Jew. Please read your Tanach, Deuteronomy 31:9-13 is the confirming of the covenant (law of Moses, Mt. Sinai covenant) of Daniel 9:27. Gog/Magog event - then the 7 years - then Armageddon verses 17-20 - then Jesus returned to this earth, speaking in the text of Ezekiel 39:21-29.
The motto of the European Renaissance was ad fontes, back to the sources. Instead of going back to the Greek and Latin classics, Europeans should have returned to the Torah's 7 Noahide commandments.

I used to be a Christian. In the new Testament it talks about the FIRST person that is the bringer of world peace as being Satan or the False first messiah. In the Tanach is speaks about the First person to bring Peace as being the true Messiah. So is the first Messiah of the 12 tribes of Israel that is supposed to come be the antichrist of the Christians? Be that as it may - the Book of Revelation has also been wrongly dated to the Emperor Domitian's time of around 81-96 AD and It's authorship is in doubt as being written by Jesus' apostle John by secular scholars - but what Scholars are totally unaware of is that the prophetic narrative flow from Revelation 10:8 -11:2's small book prophecy - self dates the book of Revelation to having been written just before 66 AD and the 3 1/2 year military campaigns of Vespasian and his son Titus that ended with Jerusalem and the second Temple being destroyed and trampled underfoot - just as the small book prophecy shows - once you remove the chapter [and verse] numbering system added to all bibles by the two cardinals: Here is the entire 'small book' prophecy from start to finish - but I'll leave both numbering systems in place this time [ that I normally remove when quoting] to illustrate the point that the chapters placed in the wrong place divides a prophecy where it aught not to be divided and also renders the 1500's numbering system useless at times: "8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. 9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. A completely new prophecy for our modern age begins from Revelation 11:3 and runs to Revelation 11:18. but what Revelation 11:2 shows is that Jesus' disciple John had no knowledge of the Destruction of either Jerusalem or the second Temple - when he penned that small book prophecy and John was specifically told he was to record three things in Revelation 1:19 i.e. " Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;" To not record the destruction of the second Temple therefore would have been a violation of that command - thus the book of Revelation was written a very short time before 66-70 AD - otherwise John would have recorded it's destruction had the book of Revelation been written later than 66-70AD.
Interesting that Tovia Singer talks about the importance of context... but right before that he quoted Isaiah 43:5-6 as a future prophecy to be fulfilled by the Messiah. But remember when Isaiah was written! This was more directly about the return of Israel from Babylon. Indeed, we see reference to Babylon in verse 14. Tovia Singer can be impressive at times but this example is reminiscent of a fundamentalist grabbing a verse at random and insisting that it must be about the end times.

Christians and Jews use the same terminology and mean the same things. Christians are also talking about the Davidic covenant. The difference is that Jews don't believe that Jesus fulfilled the messianic requirements, while Christians believe He did and those that are not fulfilled will be in His second advent. What Rabbi Singer fails to state (which I'm sure he is aware of) is that Christianity stemmed from Judaism with a messainic emphasis. The first Christians would have been refered to as Messianic Jews if we were to use today's terminology. They were Jews through and through. The Book of Acts records them meeting regularly at the Temple in Jerusalem and participating in Jewish festivals. There's a Jewish legend that the Moshiach will be born on Tisha B'Av. So when my wife's originally-calculated due date was Tisha B'Av, we joked that we'd get some epic bragging rights... 1- There is a point that I want to make, O Rabbi, in that you say that Muslims believe in the Tanakh and that it is the word of God Almighty, and this is true, but it is not in its entirety. What agrees with the Holy Qur’an we accept it, and what contradicts it, we reject it, and what is there is no evidence for it, we remain silent about it, so we neither believe nor deny it. 2- The other thing is that you say go back to the origin of the writings, and this is something that is impossible at the present time because there are no manuscripts that go back to Moses, peace be upon him, or to one of the first prophets of the Children of Israel. There is a time gap estimated by several centuries between those prophets. And the Dead Sea Scrolls, which until now the Israeli government has reservations about many of them 3- The Orthodox Jews say that the Torah was transmitted orally, generation after generation. Unfortunately, this is a deception and an attempt to imitate the knowledge of men in the Islamic religion. When you ask an orthodox person who is Person X and how did he live and in what era is he trustworthy and many questions that he will not be able to answer, this shows you the impossibility of transmitting the Torah or the Tanakh in its entirety word for word and letter by letter orally because it is many books 4- In Islam there are men who spent their lives learning, memorizing and teaching the Noble Qur’an to people and keen to transmit it as they heard it from the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. We do not believe that he was killed, and according to the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, he will come down at the end of time and rule all nations as in the prophecies that you mentioned and all nations will obey him because God will make them do that 6- The loss of the original writings from the previous books is a matter predestined and inevitable by God Almighty to send the same message to people, but this time it will be universal for all human beings. It is assumed that the most eager and happy for the new message of the Lord It is you, People of the Book, that all the information and sources are before you to read about Islam instead of judging it in advance and putting yourselves in an isolated box away from Islam.

I concur with another commentator here that Rabbi Singer spent more time in this video negating the Christian Jesus than in defining WHO the Mashiach will be. My asking this question from Rabbis and Jewish friends revealed an astonishing variety of definitions - some really ridiculous, like "He'll be a nice Jewish Guy!" Try this exercise for yourself. I concluded that Jews were as divided on this topic of the identity of a "Mashiach" as Christians after 2000 years, are still divided on their NT 'Messiah''s identity. The Hebrew Tanach is clear that the earth will rock like a drunkard the Day He comes - when "every eye shall see Him and every knee shall bow before Him":, as we pray at the end of every synagogue service! But, that speaks of HaShem Coming (as all over in the Prophecies, uttered by HaShem Himself) - and nowhere in the Hebrew Scriptures is the term "Mashiach" ever used for the appearance of this Mystical Figure Who will perform the actions that we have credited the "Mashiach" with (re. I, as a Muslim, has such a high regard for rabbi Tovia Singer. I must've listened for countless hours to his lectures. I have learned so much from him even though I differ from him on many other issues. Islam advocates very strongly to amiably agree to disagree on any specific subject matter, hence I will never personally ask him or any other rabbi or priest any questions, lest I make them feel awkward, but listen humbly and keenly to their perspectives. I could actually reply verbatim to you as I did to the honourable rabbi and equally afford you my respect as well. I am no philosopher by any measure, but I have, a very long time ago made peace with the fact that I can only measure my own degree of faith in contrast to another without being judgemental. Sort of measuring comfort with discomfort, sweet with bitter, negative with positive, etc etc. Each and every one of us are raised differently under very different circumstances, which has a direct bearing on our individual psyches.
That's just the way the world works, by Divine Decree.

Regardless of what anyone wants to personally believe, the real issue is what does the text really say and who can tell you that?
Over 10yrs ago I realized that Israel knew something about their text that the rest of the world doesn’t. I realized it because when reading the first half of the Xtian bible I realized that section’s message was that one day the world will come to know the Creator the same way Israel knows the Creator and not the other way around. One reading of the long dedication prayer over the first temple and you clearly see that, plus the countless times the prophets say it as well.
To know what the text says you have to read it as it was originally meant to be read and understood. Not with personal or church dogmatic glasses.
The word moshiach translated doesn’t mean messiah as it is understood today. It means anointed. Whoever the real leader of Israel will be the one to exercise judgment over the nations (see Isaiah 52:15- meaning the non-Israel nations of the time period being spoken off) along with other criteria being met, only then will he be considered anointed. Then he will be called by the modern understanding of messiah.
But, more importantly, until after the destruction of the 2nd Temple and the people of Israel, including the Southern Kingdom, be dispersed across the four corners of the world, as Moses foretold, could the "messiah” be born. When it comes to the text, go to the source. Whether you accept the message or not, that’s a different matter altogether.

@billy jonas The jews seem to continually reaffirm that moses had written down all the stories taken place before his death to my knowledge. It is also written in the book of exodus that moses often settled disputes between his people, and that he would bring these questions to his God until his father in law came to him with a plan to make judges who, by moses' teachings, could settle lesser disputes. The 10 commandments are no doubt of incredible importance, however these alone cannot make a complete society such as the hebrew people would go on to build.

Rabbinic Jews: No he is not the Messiah
Me: don't underestimate the devil's ability to blind you from the truth. Jesus is the Messiah and the Son of God. I have felt his raw power in my life.
If he was of a virgin birth, that means G-d was his father, and therefore, he was not from the House of David. Tribal lineage is strictly paternal. For better understanding of that concept, please see in the book of Numbers the events connected to the Daughters of Tzlafchad who wished to inherit their father's property. G-d instructed Moses to tell them that they may inherit the property, but once they got married, unless they were to marry within their tribe, the land would revert back to the tribe as not to be transferred from tribe to tribe. I'm a Kohen, which means my great, great, great etc. grandfather was Aharon the High Priest (Moses's brother). My son is a Kohen because I'm a Kohen. If I adopt a son, as much as I would love him like any other my children, he would not be a Kohen, since this is directly passed by biological father. If Jesus was born of a virgin birth, then his status, though 100% Jewish (from a Jewish mother), but tribal lineage would be considered more like that of a convert or someone adopted from a non-Jew, and would not be considered as part of any of the 12 tribes. Yes, I see Isaiah 53 already being fulfilled. However, as per the text, it is not the Jewish people talking, it is the Kings of the world and the Nations of the world speaking about the Suffering servant... The same suffering servant as in the other three suffering servant story. My great grandparents were murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust. The Germans realize what they did and at least most of them are horrified for their sins during the Holocaust and how G-d's servant (The Jews...) suffered because of their sins. If you want to see Jesus or any other messiah in Isaiah 53 to strengthen your faith, that's fine. However, the last two verses in Isaiah 52 clearly state who is talking. Isaiah 7:14 says absolutely nothing about a virgin birth. The original Hebrew word אלמה means young woman-"The young woman is pregnant and will give birth to a son, and she will name him 'G-d is with us.(Imanu El)'" Exact translation from the Hebrew text. I'm also eagerly awaiting the arrival of the mashiach, but he must fit the Jewish Bible's qualifications. But what can I say, like Jesus, I'm a follower of Rabbinic Judaism.
let me entertain you with a little story:
It’s market day and cattle are sold, a Jewish farmer decides to buy some new sheep, he wanders along the pens with donkeys, and pens with goats, all orderly divided.
Then he comes to the area where the sheep are offered, it also very orderly, the pens even have shields announcing the breeds. Like Assaf, Cheviot, Churro or Merino. In the pen next to the Merino there is a shield Messiah.
The farmer reading the shield thinks:

The farmer replies: “I am a farmer, like my father and his father and I can tell you from a lifelong experience these are pigs, just look at the ears and the snout and listen to the sound they make.
The vendor heats up: “I tell you those are sheep, I have it from the highest authorities that these sheep are special.”
The farmer: “that may be so, but I think those authorities don’t know what they are talking about.”
The vendor shouts: “Get away from my turf, you filthy Jew, or I call them to chase you away. You are ruining my business”
The farmer: “Spare yourself the trouble I wasn’t buying anyway. I am a Jew and I don’t have need for pigs.”

If indeed "G-d was his father"...that's would then be his only paternal lineage. Not from the "branch of Jesse." That ends everything. There would be no other. Look, If he "returns" and fulfills all the prophesies of what the Mashiach is supposed to do, then we have something to talk about.
When the Mashiach arrives, we will all know it, it will be obvious, and we won't have to rely on blind faith. In order for Jesus to be the Mashiach: 1) He needs to be alive 2)100% human; 0% G-d 3) He needs to be a biological male descendant of David and Solomon 4) he cannot be from Jechonia whose descendants were cut off from the royal lineage 5) He needs to fulfill the prophesies (not ambiguous mistranslations/out of context.
I know you're excited and passionate about your belief in Jesus, but you also have to accept that there are those who do not and will not share that enthusiasm. You need to accept me as a Torah observant Jew, in accordance with G-d's command and the promise that this law will be an eternal covenant. G-d doesn't lie. Christian religion requires the belief in Jesus/Yeshua. The Jewish religion prohibits someone "dying for your sins," elevating a human to divine status, and again, there is nothing in the prophets to support a mashiach dying and coming back to finish the job.

To respond to some of your points:
There is no way the Messiah can be merely human. Here are the biblical reasons:
1. God says we are not to put our trust in man, but in God alone. In fact, God warns that its a curse for us to put our trust in man or to make flesh our arm.
2. Every single one of us has sinned and fallen short. No exceptions. The wages of sin is death.
3. Isaiah says ALL of our works are as filthy rags.
4. All throughout the scriptures it is always God who saves. Always.
5. The suffering servant cannot be Israel for all the reasons listed above . The context also doesn't make sense. God says He will send his servant to turn Jacob back to himself. It is illogical to think that Jacob would be turning itself back to the Father.
6. Isaiah says God's suffering servant is righteous (this automatically disqualifies any mere human, again for the reasons cited above)
7. The Messiah would be born of a virgin. Again, this is impossible for man to achieve.
8. Yeshua the Messiah could only keep the law perfectly because he was fully God and fully man. He alone is sinless, because God alone is righteous.
9. The Messiah came the first time to save us from our sins. As the Torah states, without the shedding of blood, no sins can be forgiven. Yeshua made atonement for all of our sins by shedding his Holy, perfect blood to make atonement. The lamb was always a picture of Christ's innocence and perfection- without spot or blemish.
He was sacrificed on Passover, buried the next day on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and he rose from the dead three days later on the Feast of First Fruits, proving he has power over death, hell and the grave.
50 days later the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Feast of Weeks.
Yeshua is your Messiah and he loves you dearly. But you must believe the testimony God gave of his Son as the Savior of mankind. He is the mediator of the New Covenant prophesied in Jeremiah.
The thing is, with all due respect, Israel, historically throughout the Bible never listens to the prophets 🤨🤔…if the land would’ve listened Babylon or Assyria wouldn’t have desolated the land. Greetings from a Sephardic Jew, Shalom!

What better description for present-day Jerusalem and Israel sad as it may be there is a remnant our God is a covenant keeping God.......

Let me entertain you also with a little story:
It’s market day and cattle are sold, a Jewish farmer decides to buy some new sheep, he wanders along the pens with donkeys, and pens with goats, all orderly divided.
Then he comes to the area where the sheep are offered, it is also very orderly, the pens even have shields announcing the breeds. Like Assaf, Cheviot, Churro or Merino. In the pen next to the Merino there is a shield Messiah.

The farmer replies: “I am a farmer, like my father and his father and I can tell you from a lifelong experience these are pigs, just look at the ears and the snout and listen to the sound they make.
The vendor heats up: “I tell you those are sheep, I have it from the highest authorities that these sheep are special.”

the Talmud is not God-given and is even blasphemous in many regards, it is still a valuable historical document.
Why is this important? For one thing, the Talmud sometimes contradicts present-day rabbinic assertions! For example, the New Testament (John 19:37; Rev. 1:7) regards Zechariah 12:10 as Messianic: “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him [Messiah] whom they [Israel] have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.” Against the Christian Messianic interpretation, Rabbi Gerald Sigal has written that the one pierced is actually the nation of Israel: “God cannot literally be pierced. The idea of piercing God expresses the fact that Israel stands in a very special relationship to God among all the nations of the earth. God identifies with His people to the degree that He takes part figuratively in the nation’s destiny. To attack (pierce) Israel is to attack God.”
Yet the context of Zechariah 12:10 argues against Segal. As a result of this “piercing,” Israel mourns for her sin (Zech. 13:1). This would not at all have been likely if Israel had been the victim of the piercing.
Besides, the Talmud doesn’t affirm Segal’s interpretation. Instead, it acknowledges that Zechariah might be prophesying about the death of Messiah:
And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart [Zech. 12:12]… What is the cause of the mourning mentioned in the last cited verse? - R. Dosa and the Rabbis differ on the point. One explained, The cause is the slaying of Messiah the son of Joseph, and the other explained, The cause is the slaying of the Evil Inclination. It is well according to him who explains that the cause is the slaying of Messiah the son of Joseph, since that well agrees with the Scriptural verse, And they shall look upon me because they have thrust him through, and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for his only son. (Sukkah 52A5)
This same Talmudic commentary further contradicts the modern rabbis by acknowledging the possibility of two separate Messiahs - the first would come humbly and die; the second would set up an everlasting kingdom. This is important because the modern rabbis reject the Christian narrative of two Messianic comings, claiming instead that when the Messiah initially comes, there will be peace and an everlasting kingdom. But when Jesus came, there was neither.
We find that modern rabbis conveniently ignore much Talmudic thought. The late Hebraic scholar turned Christian, Rachmiel Frydland, pointed out that not only do some Talmud rabbis perceive two distinct portraits of the Messiah within Scripture, “a second explanation of the seemingly contradictory portrayals of Messiah as one both humiliated and exalted appears elsewhere in the Talmud”: “[Rabbi] Alexandri said that [Rabbi] Joshua bar Levi combined the two paradoxical passages; the one that says, ‘Behold, one like the Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven’ (Dan. 7:13; showing Messiah’s glory) and the other verse that says, ‘poor and riding upon a donkey’ (Zech. 9:9; showing Messiah’s humility)” (Sanhedrin 98A).

One of the problems with Christianity is that most Christian Sunday sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen’s sermons resemble improved motivational speaker Tony Robbins type lectures on how to be successful in life.
Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute other Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament that supports Christianity’s adulterous, idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success.
The reason the Old Testament is so important is that the Old Testament is more or less a history book of the human race. And if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes you have made in the past. The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame.

Tovia, I agree with you that Christianity doesn't view the messiah as Jews (Judaism) does. Christianity focuses on the messiah being the Savior from our sins. Which Judaism does not view the messiah as being for that purpose. The messiah in Judaism focuses on him being the King of Israel.
Judaism though has set itself up to believe in someone else (other than Jesus), who will be anointed the King of Israel - the Antichrist, instead of and against Jesus, the rightful King of Israel. In 1Thessalonians5, the world at that time saying "peace and safety" will be because it will think it has entered the messianic age.
Parts of the prophecy your reference in the Tanach that Jesus did not fulfill in his first coming, will be fulfilled at His Second coming.
Jews do not believe that Jesus is God come in the flesh... but read Ezekiel 39:22. Ezekiel 39:21-29 is Jesus Himself speaking in the text, having returned to this earth. The implication is that Jews currently do not believe that Jesus is the Lord their God - prior to then in Ezekiel 39:22.

Your messiah (thought-to-be) will the little horn person leader of the EU, who following Gog/Magog, will be the prince who shall come, and then perceived to be the messiah is the anointed King of Israel. In the new Testament it talks about the FIRST person that is the bringer of world peace as being Satan or the False first messiah. In the Tanach is speaks about the First person to bring Peace as being the true Messiah. So is the first Messiah of the 12 tribes of Israel that is supposed to come be the antichrist of the Christians? Or is there going to be a false messiah for the 12 tribes of Israel as well and then comes messiah? Who is telling the true TRUTH from a bible that has been idolterated by the christians for thousands of years now? I seek the TRUE TRUTH and none of this Bologna that is being taught by many corrupt teachers.
The problem with a divided Christianity that is so diverse in it's many corrupted teachings - lies in the misinterpretation of prophetic scripture mostly - whether inadvertently or deliberately is extremely hard to tell.
What happened to all bibles including the Jewish bibles is that 2 Roman Catholic cardinal's in the 1200's AD invented the 'Chapter' numbering system that was adopted and introduced into all bibles - ostensibly for study purposes and for finding scripture more easily - by the various translators [ including the KJV that many Christians believe is the most accurate version] that distorts many prophecies in various places.
This Wikipedia excerpt below shows exactly where translators went wrong in adopting a Chapter numbering system that relies entirely on two roman Catholic cardinal's discernment of where a Chapter or a biblical prophecy begins or ends - and often - they are completely wrong in dividing scripture where they have done - especially where it comes to the narrative flow of many prophecies that are broken up and separated from the Texts in places that distorts that prophetic narrative:

What's even worse though, or equally as bad - is that when chapter divisions are placed in the wrong spot in various rhetorical points - it makes nonsense of the Verse system added in the 1500's to all bibles - in far too many places also.
Both the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation have been wrongly dated to different Eras to which they were actually Written and nobody seems to be aware of this fact.
Look up the Wikipedia article titled; 'Book of Daniel' its initial intro and under he headings, of Historical Background, Development, Authorship and Dating and you'll see the heavy bias directed at the book of Daniel in the secular scholars Eyes in its credibility to be anything else but a totally Mythical book written in the Era of Antiochus IV Epiphanes around 167-164 BCE or the 2nd century BC - primarily because of an assumption that the Book of Daniel is inaccurate in it's 11th chapter in it's description of Antiochus' military campaigns and his death from Daniel 11:40-45.
Only problem with that assumption is that another Wikipedia article titled; 'Vespasion' shows that both Antiochus and Vespasian dealt with the same countries and that's why their military campaigns are [SEEMINGLY] indistinguishable from one another.
However, Daniel 11:40-45 is not covering Antiochus' military campaigns and death but that of Vespasian and Titus' military campaigns and Vespasian's death - because the Vespasian article clearly shows Vespasian did indeed die of natural causes - making the book of Daniel Highly accurate to the nth degree and perfectly aligned with historical records. Daniel 11:40 begins a prophetic narrative that runs clear through to Daniel 12:7 showing the time of the End would occur during Vespasian's time - When 'the power of the Holy people would be scattered' [Daniel 12:7]
There is no other logical reason to assume Daniel wasn't written in the 6th century Era of the prophet Daniel Himself and the 'court tales' that introduce the first 6 chapters were most likely written by Ezra - who was a highly placed Jew in Darius and Xerxes' royal courts so would have had access to Jewish literature and thus Daniel's prophecies also and most likely would have needed to speak and write in Aramaic and Hebrew - the two languages parts of it were written in - to be even in the royal courts as he was and given great authority.
Be that as it may - the Book of Revelation has also been wrongly dated to the Emperor Domitian's time of around 81-96 AD and It's authorship is in doubt as being written by Jesus' apostle John by secular scholars - but what Scholars are totally unaware of is that the prophetic narrative flow from Revelation 10:8 -11:2's small book prophecy - self dates the book of Revelation to having been written just before 66 AD and the 3 1/2 year military campaigns of Vespasian and his son Titus that ended with Jerusalem and the second Temple being destroyed and trampled underfoot - just as the small book prophecy shows - once you remove the chapter [and verse] numbering system added to all bibles by the two cardinals:
Here is the entire 'small book' prophecy from start to finish - but I'll leave both numbering systems in place this time [ that I normally remove when quoting] to illustrate the point that the chapters placed in the wrong place divides a prophecy where it aught not to be divided and also renders the 1500's numbering system useless at times:
"8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months."
A completely new prophecy for our modern age begins from Revelation 11:3 and runs to Revelation 11:18. but what Revelation 11:2 shows is that Jesus' disciple John had no knowledge of the Destruction of either Jerusalem or the second Temple - when he penned that small book prophecy and John was specifically told he was to record three things in Revelation 1:19 i.e. " Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;"
To not record the destruction of the second Temple therefore would have been a violation of that command - thus the book of Revelation was written a very short time before 66-70 AD - otherwise John would have recorded it's destruction had the book of Revelation been written later than 66-70AD.

Interesting that Tovia Singer talks about the importance of context... but right before that he quoted Isaiah 43:5-6 as a future prophecy to be fulfilled by the Messiah. Christians and Jews use the same terminology and mean the same things. Christians are also talking about the Davidic covenant. The difference is that Jews don't believe that Jesus fulfilled the messianic requirements, while Christians believe He did and those that are not fulfilled will be in His second advent. What Rabbi Singer fails to state (which I'm sure he is aware of) is that Christianity stemmed from Judaism with a messainic emphasis. The first Christians would have been refered to as Messianic Jews if we were to use today's terminology. They were Jews through and through. 1- There is a point that I want to make, O Rabbi, in that you say that Muslims believe in the Tanakh and that it is the word of God Almighty, and this is true, but it is not in its entirety. What agrees with the Holy Qur’an we accept it, and what contradicts it, we reject it, and what is there is no evidence for it, we remain silent about it, so we neither believe nor deny it.
2- The other thing is that you say go back to the origin of the writings, and this is something that is impossible at the present time because there are no manuscripts that go back to Moses, peace be upon him, or to one of the first prophets of the Children of Israel. There is a time gap estimated by several centuries between those prophets.
And the Dead Sea Scrolls, which until now the Israeli government has reservations about many of them
3- The Orthodox Jews say that the Torah was transmitted orally, generation after generation. Unfortunately, this is a deception and an attempt to imitate the knowledge of men in the Islamic religion.
When you ask an orthodox person who is Person X and how did he live and in what era is he trustworthy and many questions that he will not be able to answer, this shows you the impossibility of transmitting the Torah or the Tanakh in its entirety word for word and letter by letter orally because it is many books

Likewise, they were keen to narrate his hadiths (the Sunnah of the Prophet) and they are known, whether they were companions or followers or those who follow them in a chain of trustworthy narrators and this is from the grace of God Almighty on Muslims
5- We Muslims have many lines that intersect with Christians and Jews, and we differ on many other things. For example, we believe that Jesus, peace and blessings be upon him, is the Messiah and the Prophet of God, but we do not believe in his divinity.
We do not believe that he was killed, and according to the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, he will come down at the end of time and rule all nations as in the prophecies that you mentioned and all nations will obey him because God will make them do that
6- The loss of the original writings from the previous books is a matter predestined and inevitable by God Almighty to send the same message to people, but this time it will be universal for all human beings.
It is assumed that the most eager and happy for the new message of the Lord
It is you, People of the Book, that all the information and sources are before you to read about Islam instead of judging it in advance and putting yourselves in an isolated box away from Islam.

I concur with another commentator here that Rabbi Singer spent more time in this video negating the Christian Jesus than in defining WHO the Mashiach will be. My asking this question from Rabbis and Jewish friends revealed an astonishing variety of definitions - some really ridiculous, like "He'll be a nice Jewish Guy!" Try this exercise for yourself. I concluded that Jews were as divided on this topic of the identity of a "Mashiach" as Christians after 2000 years, are still divided on their NT 'Messiah''s identity. The Hebrew Tanach is clear that the earth will rock like a drunkard the Day He comes - when "every eye shall see Him and every knee shall bow before Him":, as we pray at the end of every synagogue service! But, that speaks of HaShem Coming (as all over in the Prophecies, uttered by HaShem Himself) - and nowhere in the Hebrew Scriptures is the term "Mashiach" ever used for the appearance of this Mystical Figure Who will perform the actions that we have credited the "Mashiach" with (re. Rabbi Skobac video). Dan. 7 (latter half) is also very clear about 'who' this Coming Ruler will be - completely different from what either Judaism or Christianity predicts. 1) Jesus Christ was born and raised and died as a Jew.
2) He came specifically to save the 12 tribes of Israel.
3) He did not come to create a new religion (Christianity).
4) You based your information on man’s traditions and on some written texts from so called Jewish prophets.
5) Jesus Christ is the Word of GOD, and only the people of GOD will hear the Word of GOD.
6) The original disciples who accepted Jesus Christ as the Messiah were Jewish and not Romans or Greek.
7) Jesus Christ himself couldn’t convince people like you who followed the traditions of man, and only end day event will give you the answers you are looking for.
