- Found my PS2 in my closet, and decided to play Ace Combat 5 again. Somehow this came out of it.

Project Aces and Eagle Dynamics need to team up and create a campaign for DCS.
Good point and Eagle Dynamics is a Russian game company while Project Aces is Japanese therefore both teams need to have access to each others airbases Eagle Dynamics access to Russian Air Force bases and also JASDF bases since project aces have access to JASDF bases.

that flashy ace combat nonsense has nothing to do with a combat simulator like dcs.
@@FalcoGer a campaign is a far cry from implementing the non-simulator controls and flight models of Ace Combat. The stories of Ace Combat are one of the fun things about it they could easily craft a fun campaign IF they were willing to work together.
@@Jadefox32 Yeah, what they need to make it work is just good writers, mission designers, voice actors, and composers. Which is of course easier said than done, but it's been done before, for example right here. There'd have to be a lot fewer enemies but each one could be much more of a character as the player hears their voices. The big thing it'd be missing is cutscenes, but you could probably work something out with big sections of the story happening after each mission via voiceover as your squadron orbits or after it lands (maybe with pilot & infantry models even spawning), and/or a document that comes with the campaign that you could alt-tab to between missions, or maybe even better, it could be written on the intelligence images you flip through during the briefings. And it'd be missing the tunnel segment at the end, but maybe you could rig something up with static objects?
@@FalcoGer That's half the fun and humour of the idea though, trying to go up against Ace Combat shenanigans and BS in the joint-most realistic modern air combat game around. DCS Aigaion hunting would be especially ridiculous, in the best way :)

I forgot how much I loved this game. I think I still have a copy somewhere. Might dust off my old PS2 if I can find it and play through the missions again.
when I sold my PS2 back at the end of the '00s, thinking I should just give up games entirely and focus on my career because they were too much of a distraction, AC5 was the only one I still couldn't bare to sell

DCS World and Ace Combat 5, the two greatest airplane games together at last
as much as I love DCS and have been flying that A-10C since it came out in 2011, and am now learning the Hornet and Viper, the one thing DCS campaigns are missing is a story about a squadron of nuggets growing in terrible power until through sacrifice they are reborn as mythic heroes fighting under no nation to save the world while fulfilling an ancient mystical prophecy.
Idk why but this shit made me smile and tear up for some reason I really loved AC5 growing up
I think Nassault is a better editor, BUT, you, by far brought more Nostalgia than anything else. Well done. I enjoyed it a lot.
I think the key difference between this and what Nassault makes is that this is more of a faithful recreation of the actual mission from the game, while Nassault takes a highly cinematic approach at depicting a given mission in the games. Both are fantastic in their own right.

I don't recall the Yuke air force deploying any A-10s to the battle, I thought it was F-4s, F-16s, B-1s, Mig 29s and Panavia Tornados, great video though, and it's not that big of a deal, just a small ting I noticed

Tornados aren't available in DCS, at least there are no AC skins, same for the Su-25.

if they were on the basset space center mission they would be better than the B-2s on that mission
Better yet, close to WVR, THEN fire off the missiles for you to intercept, while also downing the bombers themselves and as many fighters as you can. And, of course, BVR does not exist in Strangereal.

Not 100% accurate, but still nice.
Some errors:
1) 5:14 - Enemy pilot's callsign must be "Kvant".
2) 6:52 - Enemy squadron's speech colored blue instead red.
3) Red stars (Russian Air Force marks) on yuke's fighters (A-10 at 5:03 and Mig-29 at 6:42). Looks not authentic. Would be better makes them unmarked.
4) Not sure about Grimm's speech color. It must be always green, but by plot he is not yet your wingman. So, it's not striking.
