I'm not trying to be difficult, but this is just too hard to remember how to adjust it unless you do it every day. I spent an hour reading the pamphlet and trying to adjust it, I couldn't and I've been in this business since the 60's, The paragon time clock and penn temperature control are easy. Sorry, when I run into a situation where the customer is loosing frozen food and I can't adjust this control I'll be ripping it out.
I am using. XR70CX in laboratory refrigerator. When I set temp at 4°C, it reaches to 4 but does not remain stable. It keeps varying from 3°C to 7°C. How can I get accuracy and stability in this controller?
Hi Sachin! Thank you for the great question. The play in temperature depends on the value of his setpoint and the parameter HY. If setpoint=4 and HY=3, the temperature will play from 4-7 because the cut-in will be set to 7 (Setpoint+HY) while the cut-out will be at 4 (setpoint). It’s not advisable to reduce the HY to make the cut-in and cut-out closer, thus reducing the temperature variation, because it may do more harm than good because it will lead to compressor short cycling. Other methods are available to improve temperature control precision such as using an Evaporator Pressure Regulator Valve or using an Electronic Expansion Valve. For more information, you may shoot an email to Solutions.TechSup@emerson.com Hope this helped :) Have a great day!
Im getting a P1 P2 blinking on my controller I worked on. I looked in the manual and it says that they are failing. Probe failure. Will replacing the probes correct this problem? The customer is having problems with defrost modes on the case. The default settings on the controller were all changed when I got there. We changed them back to the settings in the manual, and got the blinking P1 and P2. Please help.
poseidonam We believe you may be looking at an Electronic Unit Control (EUC), which looks similar to the Electronic Defrost Control. The P1 and P2 error codes on the EUC indicate an error with the suction pressure transducer and the condenser temperature sensor. When these codes appear simultaneously, it is possible that the cable on the back of the control has become loose. The EUC is a separate control form the defrost control featured in this video. The EUC does not control defrost. If the system you are working on is having defrost problems, you will need to look for a separate control that is handling defrost. The control may be in a separate location from the condensing unit. Hope that helps!
Emerson Climate Technologies ok I will try and get the Model and serial numbers so I can narrow it down. I think its part of the XR series of case controllers. And I am nearly positive i read that the P1 was case temp, and P2 was evaporator temp probes. PTC type probes. And there was some type of defrost settings on it.
Should both fan runs @ same time on Emerson electronic controler one fan is running more 40 min before the other comes on ..sometimes longer. .. whats the best psi setting & cut in & cut out be...this is my first one that I have installed your answer will be greatly appreciated. ..
The fans operate based on mid-coil temperature. If one fan is able to maintain the coil temperature between 80 and 100 degrees (default settings), the second fan will not come on. You can verify the current condenser temperature by pressing the up arrow button. Each fan has a separate cut-in and cut-out temperature setting that will allow you to adjust the target condensing temperature. The default settings will work for most applications. Adjusting the temperatures lower can increase efficiency, but may require adjustment to the system expansion device. You can call our technical support help line at 1-888-367-9950 to talk with an application engineer for help with determining if adjustments should be made to your system.
oh cool,,, what about eliwell controllers are they emerson too? I am a customer of Copeland emerson compressors I think they are one of the best built in the industry ...I have worked on all types of compressors they are built well

This part will fit my Norlake Walk in freezer Model CPF150DCO-A? If yes where can I buy it?
I rip these out and put a penn temp control and paragon time clock in

Emerson Climate Technologies Thank you very much.

poseidonam hi there - I have a P1 code flashing and wondering if you had any luck addressing yours?
What is EA ( letters blinking )error in dixell XR06CX controller, can anyone help n explain it to me at the earliest please. Thanks.

You must be a do it yourselfer if you don't understand cut in cut out...
What a stupid over engineered device. These over rated engineers love justifying their salary and making the life of us techs harder and harder.
I have a ( P1 ) on lcd
What's that means?
isn't that a dixell controller ?
You are correct. Dixell is an Emerson Climate Technologies business. This particular control is a variant of the popular XR series of case controls.

Thanks for the kind words! No, Eliwell controllers are not part of Emerson Climate Technologies.
How to monitor all parameter of XR80CX controller on Computer using Hot keys..??
nilesh surwade you can use wizmate tool to see all parameters in computer
Use wizmate tool
I see this controller costing customers thousands in loss product. Don't re invent the wheel Emerson.
Useful
How do you take this piece of shit out of a manual defrost? I’m trying to work on one and I need it back out of defrost.
