As far as I am aware, you should be allowed in as exception to the restrictions: www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_US/covid-19/hong-kong-travel-restrictions.html You will probably need your wife's HKID / visa and your marriage certificate. Hey - that is not possible. If you se the process in my video, you will first be given your quarantine order before you go through Immigration (which is what you need to extend your PR). So the minute you 'enter' Hong Kong, you already have the electronic wristband and have to go straight into quarantine - and they will transport you there. You will not be able to check-in. Note that if you don't renew your PR you will still have Right to Land, which means you can come back anytime - the main difference is just voting (which is now even more of a meaningless charade than it ever was) and some property taxes. Hi, Im going to travel from heathrow to hk next week , but it is not for education/ work purpose . As the uk gov said only education/ work purpose are allowed to travel, is there any checks at heathrow in regards to this policy ? Thank you and enjoy your time at HK !
Hi Alfred - I travelled before the UK lockdown happened so I didn't experience it myself. But I just asked a friend who travelled a few days ago and she says no, there are no checks. The main checks are done by the airlines to make sure you comply with the HK (not UK) entry requirements. I'm assuming you have residency in HK as no tourists etc are allowed at the moment.
Is travel for leisure allowed in HK? What if I only have 6 days of leisure but since there's a need for a 14 day quarantine the apparently it will surpass days of my stay in HK. Pls advise. TY
Currently only residents and their dependents are allowed into HK. So tourists (normally visa free for most countries' citizens) are not allowed. The only exception I am aware of is if you are already in Mainland China, Macau or Taiwan. However, a 14 day quarantine is still mandatory in all cases.
awww thank you for sharing ! Flying out of heathrow seems so smooth didn't expect these measures in Hong Kong . Will you now stay in Hong Kong or will you come back to London ?

No - the arrival COVID-19 test in Hong Kong is free of charge. If you are travelling from a high-risk country, then you'll need to arrange for a separate COVID-19 test in your origin before the airlines will let you fly.
Hi Sir! Thank you for this informative video. I just want to ask if the HK airport will require a swab test result from the country of origin even if it’s just a connecting flight only. The flight will be coming from Australia, HK(connecting flight) then to Phils. Thank you very much 🙂
Hi - from what I understand, so long as you have one single ticket for your whole journey - i.e. Australia (via HK) to Phils is on one ticket - then you would not go through all the testing shown in my video. Connecting flights I believe only require temperature and security screening since you are not entering Hong Kong. Please double check with your airlines. :)
Hi I am new subscriber . I need information regarding travel from China to HK. I have rented a shared apartment in HK . Do I live with other roommates there during quarantine? Hope to get answer at your earliest
I suggest you contact the place you have rented from and make it clear that you will be in the 14-day home quarantine arrangement and ask them to confirm if this is ok for you to rent a shared apartment like this. It would not be fair for the flatmates because they will have quite a lot of restrictions with a shared apartment like this. Specifically - a lot of places (including offices, gyms, schools, even restaurants) may not allow them to enter because they are in close contact with someone who is in quarantine. IF, the place you are renting from says it's ok. Then please refer to the HK Government Coronovirus website for more info. Specifically: www.coronavirus.gov.hk/images/inbound_travel_home_quarantine_en.jpeg www.coronavirus.gov.hk/pdf/Points_to_note_for_household_members.pdf
@@XennialTraveller Thanks for your prompt reply. I have asked them they do not have any issue regarding my arrival and being quarantine. However I need one more thing do I need any police clearance certificate (Non criminal certificate ) from china for entering Hong Kong?
I don't think there is anywhere you can buy a SIM card at the airport. And now the transport from airport to hotel is controlled so you can't even go to a shop on the way to the airport. Your best bet is probably to buy a SIM card online and have it delivered to your quarantine hotel. But when you arrive at HKIA you don't need a HK local number - your international number should work as long as it has roaming enabled.
What pin for regestrasion Because my aplikasi are gone So i need to dowload again But now i,am in hotel ready May be anybody can help me what nomber of that pin regestrasion
You need a working number, not necessarily a HK number. So if your overseas phone has roaming enabled, then at the airport they will either call that number to verify (show them your phone is ringing), or I've heard in some cases they might as you to ring them to show it. As a backup, I would make sure you have the local HK number of a friend - for people who really can't use their own number, I've heard they accept having someone else as contact.
Anecdotal evidence from people's experience keeps changing. But supposedly WhatsApp is accepted. But to be safe, I still recommend making sure your phone is able to call their phone. NB I have a new updated video which shows the latest process for 2021 - ua-cam.com/video/V6IXohvddLw/v-deo.html
That is correct. As mentioned in my video, I returned just before the UK got put on the HRC countries list. Also, as of 13 November, everyone has to do the quarantine in a hotel (HRC or not). Updates are pinned in my first comment. All the other info in the video still valid. 🙃

@@XennialTraveller Yes, I do have a HKID to stay at HK. Thanks a lot for checking with your friend! Appreciated ! enjoy your time at HK and take care!
@@iamalfredwai Hope your trip back goes smoothly!! And hope you find some interesting to do during the airport wait and quarantine :D
Informative video👍 Is the first night provided hotel also free for foreigners?
Yes. The first night hotel (if you have to wait for results overnight) is provided for free for everyone.
@@XennialTraveller Oh, I see. Salamat po ☺️
Hello from Japan. I miss airport!
Hello 🙂 hopefully the world will get moving again later this year. Take care!
awww thank you for sharing ! Flying out of heathrow seems so smooth didn't expect these measures in Hong Kong . Will you now stay in Hong Kong or will you come back to London ?
I actually live in Hong Kong these days, and home (as much of a permanent one as I have) is Bristol! Have you just gotten to Hong Kong?
@@XennialTraveller I'm based in London and would love to travel as i have never been but with the 14 day rule i just wouldn't be able to do it , hopefully in the the new year at some point if they remove the 14 day quarantine x
@@misscastro6390 Hopefully things become safer for everyone, and you get to do it! Europe is an amazing place for travel with such a diverse mix of countries on your doorstep! :D Hope the UK gets through the next few months ok - the news I've been hearing is disheartening so living through it over there must be tough.
@@XennialTraveller Thank you 🙏🏾
Hi, may I know if you need to pre pay the arrival covid test? Thanks!
No - the arrival COVID-19 test in Hong Kong is free of charge. If you are travelling from a high-risk country, then you'll need to arrange for a separate COVID-19 test in your origin before the airlines will let you fly.
Thank you so much!
Wow! Thank you so much for this help Sir! Appreciate your reply! God bless you more Sir! 🙂
Specifically:

@@XennialTraveller Thanks for your prompt reply. I have asked them they do not have any issue regarding my arrival and being quarantine. However I need one more thing do I need any police clearance certificate (Non criminal certificate ) from china for entering Hong Kong?
@@x2diaries506 I'm afraid I don't know anything about the China side of things
@@XennialTraveller Ok thanks . I am looking for any one who recently travelled to Hong kong from China.
@@XennialTraveller One more thing can I book my on air bnb for quarantine in case there might be problem in sharing apartment.?
I do not have a hk phone number so can i buy a new sim once i reach the airport?
I don't think there is anywhere you can buy a SIM card at the airport. And now the transport from airport to hotel is controlled so you can't even go to a shop on the way to the airport. Your best bet is probably to buy a SIM card online and have it delivered to your quarantine hotel. But when you arrive at HKIA you don't need a HK local number - your international number should work as long as it has roaming enabled.
Hi
What date was your return flight?
Mid September. So I avoided all the hassle with the UK being on the HRC list!
What pin for regestrasion
Because my aplikasi are gone
So i need to dowload again
But now i,am in hotel ready
May be anybody can help me what nomber of that pin regestrasion
Mate...What if we don't have a Hong Kong phone number ?
You need a working number, not necessarily a HK number. So if your overseas phone has roaming enabled, then at the airport they will either call that number to verify (show them your phone is ringing), or I've heard in some cases they might as you to ring them to show it. As a backup, I would make sure you have the local HK number of a friend - for people who really can't use their own number, I've heard they accept having someone else as contact.
what if you dont have hk number what do you do ?
Anecdotal evidence from people's experience keeps changing. But supposedly WhatsApp is accepted. But to be safe, I still recommend making sure your phone is able to call their phone. NB I have a new updated video which shows the latest process for 2021 - ua-cam.com/video/V6IXohvddLw/v-deo.html
what to do if didnt get my message from them ?
Which message?
@@sajidahamed2667 Doesn't matter about the SMS text message. Just follow the date on your quarantine order paperwork.
@@sajidahamed2667 Congratulations! Enjoy the freedom 😃
I thought people from High Risk places are supposed to stay at a hotel? 🤔🤔
That is correct. As mentioned in my video, I returned just before the UK got put on the HRC countries list. Also, as of 13 November, everyone has to do the quarantine in a hotel (HRC or not). Updates are pinned in my first comment. All the other info in the video still valid. 🙃
Great content, I like it 👍 I'm always open for feedback, and would be grateful, if someone would check it out.
simply shocking for travellers to be treated like this...
Hong Kong is very unsafe these days, don’t understand why you came.
I live here...
The world is a rather unsafe place, these days 🙃
