After watching this video it kind of makes sense as to why I’ve been able to stop ball handlers driving to the rim with a solid combination of interior defense and strength. For a while I thought playing good defense and keeping hands up were often enough to make the offense miss the shot at the rim. But this video seems to debunk my theory. Is that where Block comes in?
Trust me, it'll probably make you more mad then happy trying to defend the paint. They force the badge to work a lil too good and it'll pull you away from what you're doing
@@00trevanti have it on gold also immovable enforcer. Bth really good but i only notice that it works when the offense has the ball. Granted defending the paint is overall better from last so that’s why I’m considering it a gripe
High block will allow you chase that ball down for a block but if you are stationary in the paint it won’t work too much cause of the low interior defense
Weight, vert, height, interior defense rating, & block rating all play a role. Only thing I dislike about these tests is how half done it feels. Never goes through a full test head on.
One thing I’ve noticed that may mess up your testing is the fact that ratings seem to only be there for badge thresholds. You can still do just about everything in the game with a low rating but will not have badges you need to be dominant. I’m constantly greening with a 25 inside and 25 layup when I have space on a defender.
I would love to see a difference in the effectiveness of on-ball vs off-ball steals between glove and right stick ripper. When to use each one. So far I've hypothesized that right stick ripper is better for on-ball steals and glove/interceptor and off ball steals are better with pressing square
I get about 6-8 steals per game in rec using it that way. Most of them are on-ball rips more than intercepts but it's been pretty consistent. But yeah it could be the opposite I really want confirmation on this@@RonnieMikasa
I've been using square only if I'm in the direct path to the pass, right stick if I want to 'jump the lane'. Also use right stick for ball handlers, and square for stripping layups and finishes.
I think you should be using your RS 100% of the time. Glove and Right Stick Ripper stack, and using the correct hand to pluck the ball or intercept a pass will increase your chances of being successful.
They need to buff the green window vs interior defense. This is what anyone who uses the meter feared - paint defense was buffed too much. If you have good ratings & badges, yes it should be harder to dunk. But that meter is really small in MyCareer vs low interior defense players.
Considering how big the standing dunk meter is while it inadvertently uses the driving dunk attribute I think it is more of a bug of the meter actually
I hate that. I have a 99 dunk and even with finishing take over it looks like the green window is still tiny unless I’m wide open. I get that they made it different this year to make it easier for a wide open and harder for a contested but the defender will be right under the rim and if I just dunk with x I’ll get the poster easy but if I use the dunk meter the window is tiny. Makes me only want to use it if I’m wide open which is dumb
@@romanduran4829I’m sorry bro you should not have went 99 dunk this year that is so taxing and useless I went from 96 to 90 on my 2nd build and I was able to upgrade everything else so much cause of that, that rating must of nuked your build

Yea but if a player has 70+ interior defense they can stop interior scorers. They need to do a better job with the green windows and rewarding high attributes vs low attribute players. If I have a center that is 7 ft and I’m guarded by a 6’8 sf something should be able to work on him. If I’m going against another big neither one of us can score. Also it’s a shame that the window is so small even when wide open whether your going for a dunk or jumpshot. Hopefully this next patch addresses a lot of issues 2k has

Guys, My Question now, How much Int Def is enoug for Hands Up Defense in 5v5 vs a Standing Dunk with meter from a Center?(I Am 7’1 sorry for the english come from germany) ??
I can say for sure anchor significantly affects the offense’s finishing percentage. But if it’s affected by interior defense or block by itself is hard to say.
I have low 70’s interior (7 foot 85 3 ball) with gold anchor (93? 94? Block) and I keep everyone to less than 8-10pts a game. Seems to work fine, in 2k’s “pre built” characters they all have low interior.
Can confirm, i made an OP post scorer and he gets shut the fuck down against interior defenders. Shit not fair man. Defensive players are so good this year 😢 All that VC i spent for no reason….
They need to change it back because interior defense rating should definitely affect how easy it is to get dunked on. Especially if the defender has their hands up or jumps to go for the block.
70 interior allows you to get stops on a 6’8. 70 blocks allows you to get snatch blocks too. You can hold your own as long as you get post lockdown or anchor on bronze. Weight and vert also play a factor.
The thing is that even though the green window doesn’t shrink, I’m my experience it shrinks the make percentage of the dunk. Or maybe that’s just anchor
I’m not sure I haven’t upgraded my interior yet on my 6'8 shooting guard it only goes to a 42 but I have an 88 perimeter defense and it’s a instant drop off once they enter the paint. And they can just go past me. So if you are making another build and your Center or PF aren’t going to commit to the paint to help you I’d definitely put the interior atleast 50 if you’re a guard
Yea interior got a nice buff when they tune it they tune all ratings together on a buff to make everyone compete or be satisfied some games cause players with centers an power fowards have skill gaps as well
It works tremendously well, basically the closer u get to the paint the more tgey struggle to get past you, by the time they're in the paint it's a force pickup or he's too tired do gotta pass I got mine on silver+ gold clamps & silver anchor on my pg. My day one build has Gold Anchor and my second build I made has Bronze Anchor. Both same height and interior defense. My newer build has lower vertical. And my block rate and interior contests feels the same.
