Good review, I just bought 3 in Jakarta, my son has had a cough for weeks from the nasty Jakarta air, after a few days of this everyone in the family is feeling much better. (Not saying it cured anything but the air quality in the apartment is much fresher and I can feel a difference). It was nice to see your perspective on it.
It works. Bought three units last week, one for each bedroom; My allergy stopped in two days! No more itchy eyes and runny nose…. ! For 675 USD per unit, this is a really great price to solve allergy-related problem.
*This fan is everything I wanted in a desk fan and more. It looks great for **Fastly.Cool** my room , it puts out a wonderful amount of air. Is very easy to use.I just keep it plugged in.*
It didn't work for my newly renovated house. I bought the Cool formaldehyde filter to eliminate the high content of formaldehyde in the house. Its inbuilt sensor climbed to yellow and then red when newly installed. I also use my own portable AQ meter to test with similar results. After a while, it indeed reduced to green. So was my portable AQ meter. But after a day or so, it began to climb again to yellow and sometimes orange or red. So was my meter. I verified my meter by hanging it outside the window, and gradually back to green confirming the results. I had Dyson people replace the unit and a similar cycle of experience happened. I finally accepted that it seems the formaldehyde filter itself has capacity. When fully absorbed, it no longer can absorb, in terms of deduction as from user experience. Nothing conclusive nor scientific I know. So eventually I returned the unit. But I must also add, the VOC and particulate filtration worked. So filtering VOC, dust and pollutants certainly lives up to its name. Just my experience.
@@MichaelSmith-wl3td The staff had swapped a new unit twice. The filter is like a sponge and gets soaked up easily. Once soaked up (within the day) , it loses its effectiveness. My own meter, which I bought online, has the same reading as the built-in meter. Push my own meter outside the window, it would turn back to green readily (proof it works).
Really good review, but please avoid using extension cords with Dyson fans/purifiers. Mine melted the extension and when I called Dyson they said I should always plug into wall socket. They were kind enough to replace (and upgrade) the device, but I don't use extensions with the replacement.
As a Dyson owner... Sorry to say. I can no longer glorify them as an AC.. this is a FAN with HEPA filters that looks good and does what it says ... purification.. period.. anyone who says this cools temp is lying. Sorry 😞 you will prefer an air Circulator if you are after strong air flow and not a cool breeze..
The model shown in the video is good for a bedroom?. I had the old circular Dyson fan and was the perfect fit for my night stand to stay cool while asleep when the AC is not intended. I am just concerned if the height can match bed profile.
I have a few questions for anyone who has used this device: Will it heat and purify a living area of 1000 to 1200 square feet? Will it heat and purify seperate rooms within that square footage? There are small gaps under each bedroom door…will it purify and heat those rooms when the doors are closed? Is air circulation noticeable? Typical energy consumption with average settings?
I'm still using a TP04. I actually love the louder unique sound of my fan. Made the mistake of trying a cheap 3rd party filter and it randomly prevented airflow so I kept it turned off until I got a Dyson filter in. Going back to a regular fan was AWFUL. Worst sleep I've had in years. Constantly woke up through the night even though I take ambien 😆
Awesome review I recently got my second Dyson air purifier. The Dyson tp7a, haven't seen the formaldehyde version yet. I previous owned a Dyson cool link tower but it stoped working recently after 5-6 years. Just wondering when you bought your older Dyson air purifier and is it working properly still?
Hi Emkwan, thank you for your review, I have more questions, I have HP02 I tried to see if it will react on spray and it didn`t react at all, I`m in a middle of choosing buying next, your answers will help me: 1) Testing the sensors (sprayed a perfume) on which mode it was turned on please (like "Normal cooling" or "Auto" or "Autoreact" mode)? 2) Is this model has an "Autoreact mode" like in TP7A it`s not in the title like has TP7A previous model? (could be a hiding marketing trick) 3) is this a model called in short letters TP09?
Thank you for your video and for sharing your personal experience. I still wondering why I cannot find the exact square feet the Dyson air purifiers will be for. Dyson will refer as small room and large room only. Also, the measurements are given in ft3 and not in Sq. ft.
Unfortunately, we did not see a difference in dust after running it 24/7 in a closed room. We also found it to be loud, and it did not help our son, who has terrible allergies. The unit kept indicating everything was great in the environment. Also, these are large units and may or may not fit into your environment well. We had a hard time finding a spot to place it and it did not fit well. The fan is weak and I would get this unit if you also wanted a fan. Also be aware turning the fan up does not increase the amount of air purified. The replacement filters are Dyson specific and expensive to replace. We returned it and will look for something that is smaller and uses off the shelf replacement filters.
First of all nice review! I'm currently looking of an air purifier for treating my allergy. Actually I've wondered, what kind of chair you are using for your office? It looks really nice and I am also currently looking for a new chair, that's more ergonomic and also stylish. I was looking towards a Herman miller or similar. But maybe you can give me a quick opinion on your chair (and where I can find it) especially for working 8 hours on it. Cheers
Great review, really helpful, thanks. Do you think it would be any help towards chimney fire smoke when it belches out black? We live in a semi detached old bungalow with inconsiderate neighbours! The loft areas have been checked recently by a young lad from the builders for escaping chimney smoke and supposedly there was no sign but he could smell it in ours. We haven’t had our fire lit for 3 years to try and help our health with this but it seems pointless to not burn our own fuel if we are getting it from next door anyway. Windows here have to be closed when they light their fire, effects build up until the next morning when we have to open all the windows! It’s affecting our throats, breathing and sleep to name but a few symptoms. Costly air purifier but it could be a solution. Look forward to your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
Btw, does this 'cool' the room though? Looking to get this one, if it really improves the room temperature by even a tiny bit during night - as our family has similar issues as you described while sleeping with the ACs on
Absolutely it does. During peak summer it helps but the noise can be a little loud for some. The added benefit of the cooling is the ‘cleaning’ of the air quality also. We don’t bother with AC at night now with this.
Not in the way youre thinking probably , the cool is basivally a Fan ,the device has no compressor with Refrigerant so it will not be ice cold air , it basically acts as a fan
Good review. The only thing I would have liked to have seen are formedehyde measurements from an independent air quality meter in the room. I don't trust the air purifiers air quality measurements.
Great review, here's my two cents, as a dyson owner of multiple dyson products like a dyson v10 vacuum and a dyson tp02 that i've now been running for the last 6 years, i gotta say dyson is insane when it comes to build quality. Now would i fork over $500 for this as of now? ehhhhhhhhhhhh maybe wait a bit longer for prices to come down a bit more, but yeah as u said IF U CAN AFFORD IT GO FOR IT, cause if ur on the fence u might try the TP07 or wait till they release a few newer models.
Will it get rid of marijuana smells? I dread and hate marijuana (skunk) smells. My neighbor smokes all the time. They don't even get in trouble for it. I need help.
You didnt talk about the airflow directions. Im not really impressed with having only two options and it sometimes doesnt even hit us properly making it feel like its not worth the money. What do u think?
This one is horrible trust me, the Hot cool one is better even if it’s not as big it has adjustable upwards or downwards. This one is a fragile big stiff
Iam thinking about buying one and you reviewed the product very well, but as with most things going up in price,is it economic to run, I.e how much does it cost to run an hour?
Great video! So for £50 extra for app and formaldehyde… nope. I’ve not used the app for a while and unless you specifically know there is a formaldehyde issue it’s not necessary.
