  • Former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell has been “released without charge pending further investigation” after a probe into the Scottish National Party’s finances.
Former special adviser to Alistair Darling, Catherine MacLeod told Julia Hartley-Brewer that the SNP’s “chickens have come home to roost” concerning the probe.
Ms MacLeod also said that it is “very likely” that Kate Forbes would have won the SNP leadership had news of a probe into the party’s finances been public.
