It looks like it could be Alexis Sanchez’s last game tonight for Arsenal. It’s such a shame that his story with Arsenal has to end like this. He is a top quality player who wasn’t getting the recognition he deserved at Barcelona because he was surrounded by players who are on the same level as him and better. He took a step backwards to go three steps forward by moving to Arsenal. He was the main man for Arsenal along with one or two others and this helped Alexis reach a new level to his game and had three incredible seasons at Arsenal. With the lack of progression in the clubs improvement, he has been turning his head to look for a new club because he isn’t getting any younger and he wants to win the top trophies before he starts to decline. Unfortunately, a step up from Arsenal would mean he is likely to join a team with many players in his position like Manchester City which is why I fear he may go into a similar phase to when he was at Barcelona where he was acknowledged as a good player but not to the best of his abilities because he won’t be the main man.
Also he had created an incredible understanding with Mesut Özil which was almost telepathic at times. It’s a shame to see that they won’t have more seasons together especially with the introduction of Lacazette.
