Another great demonstration George. It must have been a very boring night for the security to come up and question a painter quietly painting in the corner of a massive public space. There will always be someone who gets an ego trip by asserting their authority unneccessarily if given a chance. Don't let these joy killers get to you. Keep showing your talents to the world.
i'm also guessing that security might have been a bit "tense ", because of the latest terrible incident at xmas market .. your painting turned out really nice !!! happy healthy holidays to you !!
I was positioned under a bridge which had lights on it so luckily that was good enough to work in. I had brought a light just in case but I didn't use it in the end :)
I haven't tried that but I often find I paint nocturnal paintings too dark in value overall so by working on a light panel it encourages me to paint lighter in value. Some of my favourite nocturnal paintings aren't actually that dark in value but the night is implied more through colour temperature
A shame that they cannot see the value of having an artist working at their location. It would only serve to create a more enjoyable holiday experience for their shoppers.
Thanks I agree! I've never been moved before. All of the public who walked past were very happy to see me painting. I never thought I would have needed a permit!

Isnt it easy to start on dark toned panel? For nocturnal scenes

That’s crazy how you need permission in a public space, and you weren’t in the way as well. Beautiful painting though, merry Christmas.
@@Zoewhiteart7676 I agree! That's never happened to me before, I was really surprised! I'm happy you like the painting :) Merry Christmas!

Just security being bellends, makes them feel big. Pretty sure you don't need a permit to paint in a public place in England anywhere
Yes I thought the same thing!
