The peeling mechanism sucks some serious balls. I've printed two of those - 0.1mm layer, also tried to improve the peeler by sanding it off to make it sharper - don't waste your time and pick another design.
I kind of managed to get the peeling working okayish. It's the unreliability of the rachet that made me giving up this project. The lever tend to move on the side and miss some clicks. Also it can jam very easily with the film and rogue components. Once it jam there is no way to pull the tape backward. The only option is to take the unit appart with an allen key. Not a reliable solution. Shame because i did like the simplicity of the project. Other problems: no design for any other than 8mm. Creator shows no sign of life on github.
Stephen Hawes has a design for an open source pick-n-place, recently just designed an interesting style of feeder: ua-cam.com/video/nHF0D_noWAw/v-deo.html
Thats really smart to feed the parts without the need of more complicated electronics motors controller etc.
Hi, could you please upload more videos of your design? Thank you.

@@noel1637 Wasted 3 hours of printing to discover the same thing! Too bad I didn't read the comments...

For a cover tape cutter - use mini carpenter knife blades!
Neato! Any chance you're offering 12mm tape variants in the future or on GitHub?

@@efkanguvenir4716 Neat! Just have to wait for a 12mm version.
Doesn't Pressing lever with nozzle tip damage nozzle tips?
It would eventually, but we didn't see any problems while these were in service.
Maybe a small hole to let top ring of the nozzle do the pushing
Does the tape not get pulled off? It seems to just get yanked off by that top bar...?
The tape appears to be peeled to the side with the tractor feeds, so it stays attached to the waste tape.
Open Source? Where to View?thanks
