Edward L. The game was original made left handed because the lead dev was a lefty. They just mirrored the view model for a right handed version, no idea how he charging using a foreword assist though.

Agreed, except it sounded like he dropped the hammer twice on a empty mag which is impossible. You can't pull the trigger on an M4 with an empty magazine and the bolt locked back, and certainly can't drop the hammer twice in a row on empty without pulling the charging handle!

MW2 actually has two different sounding M4's.
The one you used was from the campaign instead of the multiplayer.
The fact that some of these had the forward assist being used as the charging handle and the dust cover flapping open on every shot pisses me off.

You think that it is funny, but you fon't know that Roblox: Phantom Forces is an AAA high budget project. Developing has took over 7 years, and if we look at the game, we see a best optimization and Next - Gen Graphics. Over 8.000.000.000. dollars were spent on development. Created by Valve, EA, Ubisoft, 101 Games, Devolver Studios and of course Nintendo.

We really needed a video of the gun being fired in real life. I was amazed that the "same" gun can look and sound so different in these games. I'd like to know which one is the most accurate.

The M4 in EFT is the only one out of all of them that shows a proper animation of the bolt-release paddle. It actually tilts out when the last round is fired when the magazine follower pushes on it.

Rick Harrison Tarkov really captures the feeling of firing a gun, and the sound is pretty accurate. Insurgency captures to feel of reloading being a procedure not a flick of the wrist. A+ to the animators!

TheReal Lifehacks PDW is just a marketing gimmick. The weapon fires a pistol cartridge making it a SMG.
Callum Turner P90 use PDW cartridge, which essentially combination of rifle and pistol cartridge. they have firepower as pistol but has muzzle velocity as rifles (which is over 2000 feet per second).
What pisses me in CoD is that both the M16A4 and the M4A1 lose their characteristic Front Sight when an optic is mounted, it simply makes it look like an AR-15

BF4 is such an amazing game when it came to weapon sounds, they actually took the time to record the weapons firing for the game.

also not all m16 was burst, m16a1, m16a3, c7a1, c7a2 and m16a2e3 were full-auto instead of burst

As a guy who actually used this weapon during Army OSUT, I feel obligated to point out a few things that aren't right...
First, idk why the first few games have the ejection port and forward assist on the left side of the weapon, cuz its supposed to be on the right side so it ejects the burning round casings away from you..
Next, during the reload animation, some of the games have the character rack the weapon back after he loads the mag. The bolt automatically locks to the rear once the weapon is out of ammo so you don't need to rack it back and even if you do, it literally doesn't do anything cuz you need to ride the bolt forward to be able to shoot any rounds. That's what the button is that they press on the left side in some the games, that's the bolt release which allows the bolt to go forward so you can shoot.
And lastly, the dust cover does not close again after the round casings have been ejected. That bitch stays open

m4 in Homefront sound like a drill
Squad is as close to the real steel versions of most guns in terms of recoil, sound, sound level, and looks, in all honesty.
Most games don't understand the true concept of recoil, because their coders typically haven't fired many if any guns, the recoil of a gun should be snappy, and quick, there shouldn't be any residual movement other than what the person does after the gun fires, the motion is typically straight upwards in a handgun without a muzzle break, in rifles, typically where your next shot is aimed is purely dependent on where the gun was pointed before the next round was shot, because the chamber slides back and forth on a fully automatic rifle, and you have so much material in the rifle itself, the force of the round does more to the gun than the chamber sliding back and forth, and lots of games like to make these fully automatic rifles recoil as if they were chambered in .22, which I don't like, I want my M4 to be three inches(on the screen) different from where I was orginally aiming after the second shot, because 5.56 is a relatively powerful round.
Some of these games you can fire a full M4 mag and still be aiming where you were, or at least an inch difference from where you were pointing orginally, this shows that the devs have never fired a fully automatic rifle, of at least didn't want to model the realism aspect of it.
A gun should sound louder than an idled truck, a gun should sound really loud actually, without any ear protection a 9mm can leave your ears ringing only 1 1/2ft in front of your face, most games like BF4 make their guns unnecessarily quiet, to the point of no realism. BF4 makes the M4(for example) sound like a childs bb gun compared to the real thing. I used the M4 constantly by the way because that's what this video is about. Even a .40cal is loud as hell without ear protection.
To add onto this, quite a few games model the guns quite accurately in terms of looks, not that it's hard to do, but what a lot of games don't model is the full functionality of the guns, the slide lock, the firing position level, the trigger being pulled, the mag release being pulled, the sights being flipped up and down, opened or closed, stock adjustment, and so on, for example, my 1911a1 airsoft gun performs EXACTLY like a real 1911a1, I've fired both, they both strip the same(EXACTLY, I mean it even has the spring housing, a working hammer, you can take out the trigger assembly the same way.), everything is in the correctly place, they have virtually the same parts(minus the ones that make it airsoft vs real steel). All these things that make up a gun, it's functionality, and so many games fail to model it, this I don't like.
If there are any game devs out there planning to make Squad 2.0 or anything along those lines, I hope you take my words into consideration(and would probably buy your game if it meets my realism needs for a game)
Nick Kelly I'd say Escape from Tarkov is one of the games you'd like, the devs are gun nuts, all models in the game are highly detailed (not only guns), animations are done via motion capturing (performed by ex-speznaz soldiers) and they only use modern weapons and attachments (what's avaiable on the market right now, sniper rifles from Lobaev Arms for example).
They use double-rendering for scopes and the character actually interacts with the weapon and gear parts.
Though the recoil on automatic weapons is higher than in most games, it's still a little too low.

Changing from a CAR AR handguard (typical stock handguard found on AR and M4 variants) to something aftermarket like a Key-Mod, M-lok, or a quad rail handguard would allow you to attach different items that could help with recoil management or target acquisition. (and there are many other things)
That would mean *something* in a game.
You know, a lot of these are for fun and balance reasons

escape from tarkov is just a deathmatch with free to play aspects. been there done that for over a decade it become stale after awhile. honestly arma is the only FPS game you need and with arma 3 they really got the immersion of shooting a rifle down.
big deal... beta means nothing today. only game which has changed since beta / alpha has been squad and arma. rs2 alpha and beta are exactly the same as the finished game.
The test build utilizes PVP. The release version is story mode for up to 7 players plus the players who play as the NPCs (Scavs). No free to play either, micro transactions, never. You're right, most companies games are not true alpha/beta but this one is. Do more research, not Reddit.

I like all but one actually hit the bolt release after loading a magazine instead of pulling the charging handle. When it runs out of rounds the bolt locks to the rear so pulling the charging handle back is like writing your name down on a prefilled out form already, it's already done.

MOH: Warfighter didn't have the M4, it had the DDM4, which is very similar, but not quite as some parts are swapped out and forged different.
It took Valve all the way until CS:GO to finally get the M4 right.

True. Though I think that's more of a game balance issue. Still, they could at least get the animations correct with the way the gun actually functions IRL. Seriously it's like sometimes game devs and movie producers do zero research before putting something from the real world into their games or movies.
To be more specific, I'm fine with the M4A1 in CS:GO having 20 rounds. I get the balancing decision there. I'd just like for the magazine model to reflect that as well.

When game devs actually get firearms correctly nowadays, I'm filled with so much fucking joy you have no idea. Gun owners are criticized all the fucking time for owning something that, most people would think, is pretty fucking cool, and I do see completely incorrect portrayals of firearms that are supposed to be "realistic" to be contributing to the issue. Thanks for this vid! Brought back memories when I saw the one for Arma II.

well for starters a solid 90% of us not using weapons from the military, look in our rifles and you will not find a auto sear. secondly, if your asking the question of how can a normal person own a *m4* then how can you compare what firearms in a video game sound like their real life counterpart?
Sneaky Kitty Gaming Obviously I know it is not legal to have an automatic option on a gun, which is why I questioned how it would be, as I am not dumb enough to shoot that fast on a semi. Second, here in america, all you need is a very thorough background check and a permit for it(at least when I bought mine.) And all of these new videogames that I am comparing too literally have a fucking m4, so the least they should do is make the sounds realistic.
