  • A 4G SIM - on Three "3" Network Value for money is great at £16 a month for unlimited data (they say £21 on the website, but in the shop they offered me a special deal) - no phone line rental too!!... It cost me £100 for the new router. You can download stream 2 videos at once while uploading 2 other videos... This is by far the cheapest long-term solution for "useful" internet speeds I have found!! - I'm happy and wanted to share this solution with you guys and girls!! #isp #huawei #router

    I also have one of these routers from Three. After messing around with it I found 1 antenna is for Wi-Fi the other is for 4G. Also when using the antennas its better to login to the GUI and set it to External as by default it will set itself to auto. Sometimes it can default back to the internal even though you have external antennas fitted.

    Okay just got mine today. With just the standard built in antenna on the ground floor with a middling signal I'm getting 70 down and 20 up but if I put the sim in my phone and walk outside I can get over 100 down and over 30 up. Definitely some optimising to do!

    Thank you so much for this video, it really is helpful. I have been suffering with poor internet connection for years due to being in a rural area, which has made it very hard to work at times. I am so glad I have discovered this, I just tested an EE 4G phone around my house to find out that we get really good signal. So I have just ordered this box, now going to get the EE unlimited plan, sadly according to three website the signal is poor here. So won't be getting a £16 a month deal, but still I will get fast internet, yaaaaay.

    So I got this router from the store and the download was alright 10-20mbps down but the upload speed was giving me from 0-1mbps
    All my other older Huawei routers gave me 10-30 down and 10-30 upload consistently. I took it to the warranty twice and they said the router was fine since it got a speedtest of 40 down and 7 up in their near perfect conditions. I made a complaint and had the router replaced. the same issue was still there and eventually i had to get a refund for the router.
    This whole ordeal gives me the belief that the fault is on Huawei's end. Take this info with a grain of salt but i don't trust Huawei Routers as much anymore.
    I had the Huawei b525 and a mobile one and they all achieved way better speeds than this new router.

    Hey Howard - we're actually using a 4G LTE router for a temp-office space, the regus network provides only 50Mbps bandwidth, so we're augmenting the bandwidth with a TP-Link and an EE sim (best network for data speeds in the UK, we've found).
    At one of our other sites, we were dependant on 4G links before we had fibre put in at great cost - try a proper external antenna, such as this: www.amazon.co.uk/Poynting-4G-XPOL-A0001-Cross-Polarised-Antenna/dp/B00C1DGFPS?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_1
    I'd be surprised if you didn't see a massive improvement over those small gain (-3dB to -5dB by the looks of it) internal antennas.

    • @DubiousEngineering
      @DubiousEngineering  4 роки тому +2

      Kai, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge... really appreciated!! Before I set out to buy a higher gain antenna, I may do some testing with this thing outside in a waterproof container...
