That's the best way to kill any of the Banished. Be they grunt, elite or brute. Even more so if it sticks to them when it falls back down. Satisfying as hell.
@@acidix_games reach grunts could get a armored head guard that would absorb 1 headshot. No shields though, makes sense since grunts were cannon fodder for the covenant. Now with the banished a grunt with rank and prestige is a grunt with rank and prestege, no discrimination for their species.

This might’ve been a glitch, but this one time I fast traveled away from a bunch of marines using power weapons and it seemed that they killed Myriad by themselves. I really look forward to seeing AI battles of marines vs bosses like Bassus or Chak Lok though, if they don’t get cremated using their default weapons.

Yeah, that gun is quite deadly against unshielded brutes that are otherwise minor bullet sponges. Every time I hear it firing I get a little anxious. Edit: Forgot to mention he’s using a MODIFIED disrupter. Extremely dangerous.
it's a nice but niche weapon for sure. Doesn't really work well in general, found the regular disruptor is great against hunters, but highly underpowered against regular brutes/cheiftains.
I wish weapons lie the Disruptor and Shock Rifle had more use in the campaign, vehicles are rarely encountered and when they are you can literally just grapple and hijack them, the actual weapons themselves also just do shit damage to normal enemies compared to something like a Battle Rifle or Assault Rifle or Bulldog.

No. It's one thing for Impracticality and something that doesn't even fit in the universe and its another trying to bring life to that familiar loved classic art style. Also the Banished aren't gonna waste resources on a giant intimidating but useless machine.
See now this I like because you get to realistically see those high-value targets taking out the Marines which is what they became infamous for. That grunt wasn't going out there killing every Spartan out there but he was killing UNSC troops, and alot of them! You should do this for every high value Target and see how deadly they truly are against the Marines

Hmm, it hadn't really dawned on me that even grunts can be tough if you give them an overshield. Guess years of covenant logic rotted my brain. Why leave anyone unshielded? Why have only 1 layer? Why do kig-yar shields take damage from melee?

But the ability to afford the craftsmanship never came around until they started to get good at making factories. We then saw a massive return of steel plate armor for a short time. This suddenly slowed down when they then began to develop lighter materials.

The marine's ai seem really weird in infinite. Very stiff movement, using shotguns at long range yet try to cqc with snipers and rocket launchers, rarely use cover, and punch nearly as hard as a spartan.

I like how higher ranks in the banished behave differently like grunt ultras have shields and elite ultras activate camouflage when their shields are down

I've read leaks that forge will have advanced scripting features so I won't be surprised if we can do this. Would make sense why it's taking so long to release it, it sucks it wasn't available on launch but if it means they'll let us do stuff like this, I don't mind waiting a little while longer

Never before have I been intimidated by grunts, until I beheld a tide of 30 Bipbaps relentlessly surging forward, unleashing a torrent of electric death.
i had 0 doubt the marines were going to get stomped. not because of the calcine disruptor, but because they have a REALLY bad habit of not shooting when they should be. They take entirely too long just staring at the enemy when they have a perfect shot. It's ridiculous.
This just shows that is not the grunt but the disruptor which electrocuted them all at the same time and makes them unmovable and thats where the grunt takes the opportunity to take them down, like wtf they can’t even move

I would not be surprised if the covenant deliberately did not shield grunts purely because of some leftover feelings after the grunt rebellion

If you hear the grunts dialogue, suicide grunts do it on a voluntary basis. Don't see the banished phasing that one out.
