Umm no. Both the engines are comparative. The non turbo 1.5 on the Creta goes up against the 1.5 non hybrid grand Vitara and the turbo 1.5 goes up against the hybrid. The comparison is correct. The prices prove so too. Just in case you had any further doubts
@cyrusdhabhar partly agreed. But do you think the person who is buying Creta 1.5 turbo will think about GV hybrid? At least for me its a rare scenario.
Creta is fun. Overall a better car. GV is economical. Here is another perspective. On a long run, here’s the effective cost: - 50k kilometers, creta turbo would consume 5L worth of fuel. Taking an average mileage of 10kmpl. - for the same, GV would consume 2L worth of fuel. Taking an average mileage of 25kmpl. - now if you just take 50k km of city runs, creta would consume 6L-7L worth of fuel. Taking a mileage of 8kmpl. - GV in city would still consume 2L worth of fuel or even less. Remember strong hybrid occasionally runs on fuel in city. For 1 lakh kilometres, GV will save your 6L. Before anyone says an EV, you would pay 3L-4L advance for an EV. And you can not go on long long drives. If 80% - 90% of your running is in city, GV is a great choice. But the boot space in GV is a strong compromise.
@@Mridul.scentman++ there’s only 8 years worth of warranty on the battery pack. if it goes kaput on the 9th year (still a big if), you might have to sell the Grand in grands 😢

No doubt Creta Diesel looks tempting and promising, only because of the heavy restrictions and maybe ban of diesel in the future, it's better to let it go...
It is absurd that ur complaining abt lack of power in Vitara when its purpose is to give better mileage. Turbo engines return single digit city mileages. Plus u should have gone for NA Creta with similar power. Also u dint actually compare the seat comfort, rear seat spacing and boot to have a proper test. Very disappointed
This is the turbo engine which is only available in top variant with DCT, that is clearly not a popular variant since it 20+ lac, all other petrol has NA engine which is 113PS , but since hyundai is giving only turbo for review, most of the actual buyer dont get a reasonable assessment on how it fares with competitors
Its high time that MSIL now offers a 1.5L Turbo Petrol engine with Mild/Strong Hybrid setup, esp in its big premium/Nexa models like XL6, GrandVitara, Invicto
That hybrid mileage gap of 7-10kmpl is huge.. in 1000 litres you can go 17000 vs 25000kms... That's almost 50% extra mileage which you can use daily, vs extra power which you can use maybe less than 4-5% of the time ... Most people are just gonna drive in city... All that 120 to 160hp will not be needed there..
Pls don't go for hyrider/grand vitara if u need performance! If u only want mileage...I mean onllyyy 'Mileage'. Go get a grand/hyrider blindly. ABOUT 'Creta' no words..go go gooo!
You are an enthusiast. People around me bought 3 GV including my boss. When I asked my boss why not creta? He said I and family person, who needs that much power, mostly I will be driving in city, and weekend drives are no races. GV can easily do 100-120 -130, what's the problem. It's reliable, easily maintainable. And fuel efficient and very comfortable for the family...
