- #firefighter #restoration #firehelmet In this video, I show you how to restore a “Tin” Senator Fireman’s Helmet as were commonly worn by American firemen in the 1950s and ‘60s. These aluminum helmets were produced in New Jersey by the Cairns & Brother company. They provided lightweight head protection to the firemen of the day, although metal and heat don’t generally mix well. I’ll give you all the knowledge needed to restore your own metal fire helmet yourself in an afternoon. Stay safe!
Fantastic video! Beautiful work!
Thank you very much Al!
My grandfather used this helmet when he was a firefighter and he had 2 of them
Outstanding outstanding video!
I would have mask off the brass items on the side of the helmet and the top brass piece. The contrast would look nice and unique.
What's going on with the power wagon?
Thanks for that, Dave, great job!
What's happening with the truck, how's that coming along?
