In this week’s episode, we head to Calgary, Alberta to get some Passport work done for mom, then head to Banff Village for a night before heading back to Radium, B.C.
We then head up to Panorama Mountain Resort to do some snowboarding. We experienced some amazing snow conditions and views of the mountains! We then head back to the parking lot to cook up some lunch in the back of our Overlanding Jeep Wrangler and relax after an epic day on the mountain!

what a wonderful life
It might not be a perfect solution, but one thing I do is take a photograph of every important document, credit card, etc. and save them in a “vault” app on my phone. If someone asks to see my insurance documentation, my passport, a birth certificate for one of my kids, etc. and I don’t happen to have the physical copy on me, I can use the digital copy on my phone as a back up and so far it’s worked pretty well. You don’t want to just save it on your phone in the photo library, I recommend downloading one of the file vault or password-protected type apps that allow you to keep it secure.

George Robinson - Thanks for watching! So glad you enjoyed the video. We’re not sure when the Recall came in because we don’t get her mail very often being always on the road. We took the jeep in for a check up and the auto shop told us about the recall. Ours is a 2012 so I’m not sure if it extends to the 13+.

chelsea scott - yes, we loved Rotarua for mountain biking and other activities. New Zealand is so amazing and we’d love to go back one day. We spent time in the Hawks Bay region and pretty much everywhere else on both islands. Have fun! Sounds like you guys are doing awesome awesome adventures together. ❤️

Does it worry you when your kids tell you about going to do something challenging like that? The over-protective Dad in me really struggled to watch that. I wanted to spit out some word of caution, some warning about paying attention and not taking risks. Pretty impressed that you can be so patient with them. I bet it really helps them to be Independant.

I do have a wonderful family, thank you for the tremendous compliment! My wife and I watch your videos and I always ask her “could we do that someday“ and she gripped tightly to her cozy blankets on the couch and says “maybe once the kids move out...”

I received a notification that I received a package at my mailbox. I didn't realize you had shipped the books that quickly so that's what must be there waiting for me. I'll pick it up tomorrow. I have been so busy and I have large stack of books to read but your book is going straight to the top of the pile. I can't wait to start reading it this weekend. Thank you very much for the book. It's very kind of you to send it. For documents, I use Evernote. I have the paid Premium plan which is $7.99 per month. I pay a year in advance. You can scan documents with a phone or table as well as upload documents. The nice thing is that it will do Optical Character Recognition (OCR) so you can search for words even in a picture. You can also keep files on your device for offline use in case you're in an area where you don't have internet. They have apps for phones, tablets, and computers. I've used it for years. It makes it super easy to search for what you're looking for and you can also tag documents or create separate notebooks just to keep things organized. When Pete was going through those trees, it seems like it could have been scary. Maybe it was just the way the video came out. Haha! 🏂👍🏕️

By the way, there's an additional app that works with Evernote called Evernote Scannable which makes it easy to scan a document with your phone and send it straight to Evernote. Plus Moleskine makes some notebooks that are made for Evernote. They come with stickers that signal Evernote how you want to file the note or drawings you scan. I don't know how useful this is since Evernote does a good job of scanning any note but you may find some use for it.

I have a JK and am really looking at buying the same Rv as you guys, thanks for your opinion on towing!
Curt Rayner - So glad you enjoyed this weeks video! We have towed the jeep behind the Winnebago View back-and-forth across the country many times including all the way to Alaska and up and down many mountains. We’ve never had a problem.
I’m not sure what the technical vehicle ratings are as a pertains to the jeep all loaded down - you’ll have to look into that.
The only one time we’ve unhitched was going up the Grand Teton Mountain Pass. We decide to drive it over the pass separately.
It was a hot day and I was worried about the engine heating up, but I’m sure it would have made it. We have the six cylinder diesel engine and find it excellent for towing.
We use a blue ox towbar rated to 7500 pounds.
